Do you have a local non league team

Just wondering if any of you guys have a local non league team that you watch?

Of course most of you will maybe go and watch Eastleigh, but as I live in a town called Royston (a few miles from Cambridge) I go and watch these sometimes. Support my local team as such.

I go and watch Saints as often as possible and even more than ever this season, but do you guys watch you local team, and if so post their website, and one day our small local teams paths just might cross.

Used to watch Cambridge United for a bit at the start of last season, but they looked like they could be heading towards the same league as Saints around late September time, so knocked that on the head!

Deal Town

Massive changes in the last few years due to lots of in-fighting but the outcomes include award winning youth development set up and focus now on that area, hopefully willl reap rewards.

Also The Whites (Dover) who are, always have been and always will be beter than Margate.

I've seen Hamble a couple of times. Doing pretty well this season after an opening day thumping from Winchester City, although a good run in the FA Cup Qualifying rounds has left them with a huge fixture backlog and a slightly false league position.

They don't have a website.

Hamble lol.

you're local non leaguers will soon be pompey hopefully.

That would be over the bridge into Swanwick. We've still got an SO postcode thank Christ.

As for Farnborough, it was them that knocked the mighty Hamble out in the last round, 2-0.

Having been born in Kent I'd like to wish Dover good luck, bit since a 6th Form football match against their school which ended in a scrap and them chasing after our minibus I hope they lose about 17-0.

I'm on the exec committee at Guildford City. We're only eight promotions away from the Premiership. The club punched above their weight a bit in the FA Cup this season, and were unlucky to lose in the second qualifying round. Had we played a little better we would have beaten Clevedon and ended up with a plum home time against Eastleigh (which would have added significance for myself, having grown up there!).

Of course being involved behind the scenes has meant I barely get to watch Southampton these days, but it's good fun nonetheless. Any Southampton season tickets holders in the area are more than welcome to come down and get half price admission! www.guildfordcityfc.co.uk

Salisbury (the whites) I have watched occasionally.. Went to school in Salisbury and dad being a farmer went with him to market there. Saw them a few times as a lad including their FA Cup tie they played at The Dell, (Millwall wasn't it). Watched them most when we were deep in sh!te under the last days of Duck Hunter, instead of going to away matches. Saw a few regular Saints fans there too. In fact I know of a couple of season ticket holders in that season who stopped attending St. Mary's completely and went to Salisbury all that season. instead.

I might take you up on this. I lived in Guildford for a couple of years 1996-1998 Portsmouth Road, and Sycamore Road. While I was living there I did look at the history of the Club. I also follow the Guildford Flames as i worked at the Spectrum Centre for a year in their triple winning season. I could never find where Guildford Played so used to go and watch Woking.

I might take you up on this. I lived in Guildford for a couple of years 1996-1998 Portsmouth Road, and Sinclair Road. While I was living there I did look at the history of the Club. Well, believe it or not - we're still stuck playing at the athletics track at the Spectrum!

There have been various attempts to find somewhere for us to move permanently, and there are a couple of irons in the fire at the moment. The Spectrum isn't great for football, but we're picking up a few more spectators as the club gets more well known in the town. Sadly the local council don't seem especially keen on helping us - we're not even asking for financial help, just a bit of cooperation.

Flames season tickets holders can get in for half price too - in fact almost anyone with a connection to sport in Guildford can get in for half price these days! Hope to see you down at a match some time, your attendance will be very welcome!

Still a vice president of Ebbsfleet United, formerly Gravesend & Northfleet, my boyhood team.

Now more involved at Winchester Castle, currently 2nd in the Hants Premier !

How are things going at Ebbsfleet? I went to see them in the cup final win over Torquay. Great day out. I here that numbers have faded a bit. The ground was in desperate need of something, or a new ground. The club are in a fantastic up and coming area. Not looking for a takeover away from MyFC?

Thame United. Saw Thame put Weymouth out of the FA cup while Steve Claridge was in charge there. One of the best games i have ever seen and a last minute extra time winner. My brother and I gave Claridge throughtout the game and were very happy to hear that he was sacked the following day

Go to Sholing when were away. Good set up with some decent players, Friendly people etc. Currently 2nd in Zamaretto South & West with 2 games I hand I think

They are a cracking team with a cracking set up down there. Played against a few of their players and they are definately talented, especially the Masons. Probably the best midfielder i have played against (well up there anyway)

I see what you did there. :p

I do follow Margate thanks to being born in Kent. As for a 'local' non league team around Coventry. No, not really. I occasionally go and watch Hereford United when I am staying around my girlfriend's on the weekend but other then that I don't really go to watch anyone else.

Maiders went at them right from the off and gave Hendon a bit of a shock, scoring on about 25 and missing quite a few chances to get a second (which would come back to bite us in the arse later). However, in the second half Hendon started to show why they're up the top end of the table, ripping our defence apart on a regular basis and getting a goal from a corner, then a penalty. This'd be the usual signal for Maiders heads to go down and either collapse or huff and puff and get nowhere a la Saints on a bad day, but they surprised everyone by getting one on 80 - had to bugger off to work a couple of minutes from the end, but we probably looked the more likely to score.

All in all pretty encouraging, first Maidstone game this season where it's looked as if the team might have it in them to stay up.

My local non-league team growing up was Cheltenham and I started going in about '96. Since then they've done pretty well and the prospect of them playing Saints in a league match is now not all that absurd. If only chelt had managed one more year in league 1.

I watched them at Whaddon Road back in 1998 a few times when they were in the non league. I only lived in Cheltenham for a couple of months. Lansdown Place.

I've watched leigh RMI a few times whilst back in UK, as we have a house up there.

Funnily enough they play in Red & White stripes, black shorts and normally lose when i see them .... so nothing new there then!!

I missed out on them playing Accrington Stanley by 24 hours a few years ago as I was flying back to Dubai.

It is one of my ambitions to see Accrington Stanley for a long long time, even before the famous Ian Rush milk advert, just something about the name conjures up a magical image of football when it really was football, not a business man play thing.
