Talk in the papers today of Wayne going to Real fir €70m.

I personally think this would be good for the England team and if Cole, Lampard and Gerrard go to Italy or Spain also I think we will be in a much better position to win a world cup / euro champs because our better players are playing a different style

it won't make a blind bit of difference to the England team, actually I think he would struggle in the Spanish league.

The problem with the England team is that the players don't give a toss, because they are not getting paid hundreds of thousands every week for playing for England

£50m plus Benzema and a buy-back price of £30m would be a good deal for United imo.

No ****.

Anything over 35m is fantastic deal for United. Wayne Rooney is second only to Steven Gerrard in the over-rated footballer stakes and Rooney is catching up with Gerrard very quicklu.

Stan Colleymore was on Talksport this morning saying that he had heard from one of his best sources that Rooney has fallen out with SAF, and that Manchester City are ready to offer him £500k pw in wages and that Rooney is keen on the move.

Man u are on the verge of pettering out, Man city within 10 years will be overshadowing them in football terms.

The Pl is only Premier by name not product. There are only 3 footballers in the PL who would get into the Barca or RM team. Rooney Drogba and Gerrard, wheras their teams would fill our top clubs sides.

Rooney would be more than hapy to take 500k pw and join Man c. He is frustrated at the poor quality of player around him and Mnau 's debts are so severe they will not strengthen. Add SAF age and close to retiring and that makes them all the more weaker long term

I was talking about this yesterday Nick. The prem has gone backwards in recent times, now the spanish teams are better in terms of playing staff, with the pulling power for the likes of Kaka, Ronaldo etc. Citeh may end up with a large draw if and when they make it into the champions league.

Man utd have no cash these days, they never replaced the likes of Ronaldo (well tbf who could ?). I can see SAF walking unless things change soon, he doesn't have the resources he needs to keep them fresh IMO. Look at who their stand out players are this year, Scholes and Giggs, both WELL the wrong side of 30. They just havn't got the quality replacements they did have a couple of years ago, they should have been signing Van Der Vaart not Tottenham.

If Rooney does leave it will ring a death toll for Manure, and yes, i can see Citeh overtaking them before too long.

I just hope the spud-faced oaf buggers off far enough away that we aren't continually bombarded with his revolting personal 'indiscretions' all the time.

SAF won't walk away but will retire soon. He so wants to beat Liverpools record of championships but has not the squad to do it. Standing back and looking in from the lower leagues you can see the way the PL has waned. There are too many ESPN quality matches and not enough to get your blood rushing. To refresh, the big clubs will need to pull away again and make another league without the Blackburn Boltons Wigans of the world (and dare i say us etc) The PL has been diluted by many small clubs in the last few seasons and the glamour of big crowds and atmospheres from that is a big problem for them IMO.

IMO there will have to be a minimum stadium size and regionally based league for them to keep generating money. If we happened to go up again, how could we hope to get a great squad together unless big money is thrown at it and i can't see us doing it.

Football has moved away from the small and medium sized teams and can only really keep up by splitting away and creating a CL type competition every week.

It is depressing but Man u and Liverpools debts are so big they will be looking to move the goalposts so they can generate more, how do thy do that? Have a much smaller league but play each other 4 times instead of twice a season. The Tv companies will love it and by negotiating their own tv deals the big clubs will cash in.

He is one of the few quality players we have, the problem being with all our so called world class players they end up making too many trips up and down the motorways filming tv adds etc. it tires them out. The agents are getting them deals but it is ruining their football. Rooney loves playing football but his body cant keep up with the constant stress

As for his 'indiscretions' i doubt any red blooded male would be able to turn down what these men are offered 24/7 every day of their lives.

But it wasn't offered; he bought and paid for it. We're not talking about 'groupies' here, out for a quickie with their idol; we're talking about him phoning up Escort Agencies and visiting back-street brothels for a sleazy half-hour with a raddled old granny prostitute.

He's not fit to wear the shirt. Playing for England should make you feel proud and i'd really belt out god save the queen. I know i've already said this, but it really winds me up seeing shrek doing nothing when all the others sing. Who does he ****ing think he is, ****.

What about Crouch then?

the granny thing is a bit over the top, i think she was in her 40's and had a child at a young age.I agree he went to a prossie and not someone throwing themselves at him, stupidity in many ways.

It showed intelligence paying for it as in theory they don't spill the beans (bad wording lol) but if he picked up an aspiring 'model' they are more likely to go to the papers.

I agree that i would like to see the players belting out the song , but all people react different ways. i believe he loves playing for the country and does not need to sing the national anthem, afterall he may not be royally minded, isnt there a bit of irish in his background?

Do you condemn Rebecca Adlington when she received her gold medal at the Olypics she was chatting to the girl next to her as the flag was raised, now that did p### me off

Is that why Barca targeted Fabregas all summer and eventually signed Mascherano?

If you look back through the PL history only 1 really world class, top of his game player has ever joined a PL club (Veron to united)

The Spanish and before hand Italian leagues have always and will always have the pulling power of South American and Mediterainian (sp?) players.

Cristiano Ronaldo was a raw, fancy dan when United signed him. He bulked up and knuckled down and became imo the best player in the world. His dream was always to play for Real. For all Chelsea and Man city chucking money at their "project" which actual players have either signed that are ones you could say, yep hes the best player in the world in his position? None for my money.

All IMO of course.

I know Dune can be a bit of a handful sometimes DSM, but that's a bit harsh isn't it? ;)

FWIW, I still rate Rooney. He's just having a bad time at the moment. People say he is sh!t, but he's 24 and already has 67 England caps and 26 goals under his belt. That's something really. 250 career appearances at club level, 107 goals. Not too shabby. He obviously has the quality, and we've seen it many times, but his media image isn't great, and that's what people judge him on. It's not like he's as bad as that c*nt Marlon King, who seems to be getting zero media attention at the moment while Rooney is soaking all of it up. People cheat, people are cheaters, people aren't perfect. Footballers are meant to be rolemodels, but you have to remember that they're normal people as well, just a lot better off financially. They're prone to temptation just as much as we are, and one slip-up can ruin your career. Beckham's a cross-dresser with OCD, people still hold him in pretty high esteem...

So, Rooney has told SAF he wants to leave.

City are going to be big front runners for his signature but i just can't see Man Utd letting him go to them.

My money is on Real Madrid, even though Mourinho has said no in January.

Liverpool ???

What does everyone think ??

I am gonna go for Citeh, no matter how unlikely they have the financial muscle to push it through.

It's not really a national anthem, it's an anthem about an old women and it's a truly terrible tune. Jerusalem everytime for me - although still nowhere near as good as the French one.

Rooney is still a **** though.

I think he'll go to Real Madrid personally although I think even Barca have shown a fleeting interest with him. Sort of player that Barca could do with. There's no way in hell he would go to Liverpool

Surely he won't go to Man City, sure they have the financial clout but they'd have to have the SAS policing the next Manchester derby. Still as Rooney once said

"Once a blue, always a blue" ;)

On a vaguely related note, in a fantastic coincidence I'm gonna be in Barcelona on the weekend of 27/28 Nov when they're only playing Real bloody Madrid! As such am considering parting with about £400 quid to go and watch (you only live once and all that), anyone ever done similar? Am just a bit worried in case it turns out buying from unofficial sources in Spain is illegal and I end up eating nothing but prison churros forevermore... ;)

I can see him going to Liverpool, there's no love lost with Everton fans and he presumably would feel more settled in his home town.

I dont think the Liverpool fans woulod want him after playing for their 2 biggest rivals. They haven't the money. its man c for me, and after watching SAF on sky yesterday the wounds are opening and it will get nasty. Rooney will know going to Man c will tear SAF apart.

Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney leaving...

being replaced by...Valencia, Henandez and...........

yep, man u are finished as the best club in the land

People have said that before and gone on to look stupid.

It won't be the end untill Fergie leaves, who knows if he wants to do another 4-5 years to make a new era without Rooney, Giggs and Scholes...

I find it funny how all the manure fans are getting upset that Rooney isn't showing any loyalty to the club. He only wants to earn a higher wedge and win more trophies.

Its not like manure have gone along and courted/poached players from other clubs..........oh.

And to think Fergie didnt even think Bale was £5m when Saints sold him to the spuds.
