I am hoping for a reverse of last seasons result at the Galpharm today, think I will actually put a wager on that.

By first, I of course meant second!

Hopefully not a bad omen! ;)

I really am confident today. Gutted I couldn't make this one, will be a cracking game. So long as we are as organised as we were last week I can't see us losing. I reckon, a very convincing 0-2 win with Rickie shutting them terriers up with a brace... One of which a free kick (ones well over due to smash the back of the net).

Wouldn't change anything from last week.

I'll be late on parade on the match day thread have to go out to Sharjah today.

Highly traumatic experience spending any amount of time up there, it's like going "Oop North" except they don't have beer up the road..... Shudder

Yes, spent plenty of time there over the years. Not known for its bars packed with footy supporters........ Good luck!

Just read on 606 (I know,I know) that Lambert took a kick to the back of the leg in training and was seen hobbeling off. Another poster said that on Saints player he had a big strapping on his leg.

Maybe a doubt for today?

There's always the bar and big screen at Sharjah Wanderers. The only watering hole in Sharjah except for the sheikhs palace!!

I've been reading that for years, even last season's lost was easier to take after reading the piece Danny put together.

THe HTFC vs Southampton article from Aug 2009 is brilliant

I have idea on the result both teams seem to be coming into some form off the back of dissapointing starts to the season. I assume it will be tight hudders are a good team hopefully we will shade it.

Setting off over to Udders soon, meeting a mate in Leeds at 11.30am, a few drinks (for me) then he's driving over. Should in Town about 1pm, then it's 'The Kings' and 'The Sporty' I think. Not sure where to sit, Kilner Bank or Riverside Lower, both should be rocking today I would have thought.

Still unsure about the outcome of this one. They say you're as good as your last game, so if that's the case we'll blow you away.:D However, Southampton were in pretty hot form against Tranmere too, so we're both 'on'. I suppose in that case it comes down to who wants it most, who starts positively and who takes the initiative. If we can get you on the back foot nice and early and get our noses in front I reckon we're in with a shout. However, the longer it goes without us scoring then I fear the worst. One thing for sure it's going to be fascinating.

Heres to a great match!;)

I'd stick with the same team that beat Tranny. Harsh on Morgan and Barny who have been pretty good this season, but I just don't see the point in changing the side.

Harsh on Morgan but he might be tired from travelling so im sure NA has spoken to him and will get a run out but Barnard deserves to be dropped for what he did. Gully was great for us last weekend and if he was to be dropped cause its "Barnard" im sure he'll be wondering what he needs to do to get a regular place.

Id keep the same lineup if we dont get a break through by 60 mins, Morgan to come on for Chaplow and maybe give Richardson a run out.

No way I want to see Hammond and Morgan together in midfield. Last Sat made such a difference having Chaplow making constant runs into the box and allowed hammond to play the proper holding role which he looked really comfortable doing. Hammond and Morgan are just too similar IMO.

Unless there is any late change of mind by Adkins the team starting 11 is the same as that started the last game against Tranmere. Difficult game but our team is full of confidence and although Huddersfield will draw on their 3-1 win last season they will know it was against a team not then firing. The 5-0 defeat at SMS will play on their mind.

I think our progress will be shown by a 1-1 draw although we must start believing in this team and expect us to win every week. Decent display today with a positive outcome will increase all or belief that promotion moves from a possibly to a probably.

I think if we let Morg's off the leash and allow him to play like he does against France he would look even better.

BTW nice to see Guly being on Soccer AM showboat twice this morning.

4-0 win today.

Today is the day that it all comes together and we show the rest of the league that we are a force to fear.

I admire your optimism, that would be some result. I'll happily settle for winning by the odd goal.

There is nothing to fear here, it's all in the mind, we have the best squad in the division, we will win it IF the players believe they can. I think that they do now. 1-3 3pts, onwards and upwards - COYS!!

Am gutted that I couldn't make it today as I'm busy and I think that we will draw 1-1 but fingers crossed Saints will prove me wrong and get the win which we really need :)!

COYR :D!!

Hudd's squad is quite strong too

Huddersfield: Bennett, Peltier, Gudjonsson, P. Clarke, Kay, Pilkington, Johnson, Ridehalgh, Carey, Novak, Lee. Subs: Colgan, N. Clarke, McCombe, Arfield, Atkinson, Garner, Rhodes.

We showed in our last game against them that we have the beating of them, and we'll win today - i'm very confident about this. 3-1 to us.

So strong a League One squad that Connolly, Martin, Wotton, Holmes, Dickson, Mills etc can't even make the bench.

What is it with Holmes? Thats two successive managers where he has come on, done an impressive 20 minute cameo and disappeared again. Cant be injured again surely?

Because Chamberlain is a better option.

2-5 win for us today. I reckon we will concede two in the first 15 minutes but then raw back to life.

Scary .... just been playing The Saints are Coming from from itunes list and was treated to The Skids Version 5 times (from diffferent compilation albums) and twice from the poorer U2/Green Day effort.

Get your monry down to Ladbrokes on a 5-2 to us!!

LOL The next track played was This Perfect Day By Aussie Punks The Saints ..... the omens are looking very good indeed.

The Old Specky is going down a treat .... this perfect day .... mmmm ... hope it continues.

Music is about to take a back seat and see if Saints Player works this week ... putting This Perfexct Day to its first serious test!!
