derry Posted 13 October, 2010 Posted 13 October, 2010 Nigel Adkins left Barnard out last week as he didn't train until Thursday and wasn't involved in the Tranmere preparation. That makes me think that he could well opt for Hammond and Chaplow to start. Adkins seems to be a meticulous manager who uses all the technology and analytical tools available to prepare the players. This new approach here with the first team requires the attendance of the players, any that are missing this preparation will probably drop out, provided there are selection choices.
aintforever Posted 13 October, 2010 Posted 13 October, 2010 Easily Chaplow and Hammond. Scheiderlin is a better passer and more skillful but the midfield looked better with Chaplow making forward runs. Scheiderlin tends to just ponce about making nice passes without getting from box to box.
The9 Posted 13 October, 2010 Posted 13 October, 2010 His recent interview suggested as much. He was talking about extending to 3 months and then maybe permanently' date=' if all parties were happy. The fact that all text on the OS regarding Chaplow's loan carries the word "initial" seems to back this up too.[/quote'] Good news all round, and exactly the kind of squad improvement we should be continually pursuing.
jinglesaints Posted 13 October, 2010 Posted 13 October, 2010 I would imagine Adkins would pick Chaplow and Hammond simply for the fact Schneiderlin only got back in the country today and he has had an extra 2 days with Chaplow and Hammond to work on a few things he wants for Saturday. The hardest part for Adkins will be picking his bench from Richardson, Dickson, Holmes, Barnard, Bignall, Schneiderlin, Jaidi, Martin, and Chambo.
up and away Posted 13 October, 2010 Posted 13 October, 2010 Schneiderlin scored for France tonight. Adding more attacking threat to his play for Saints would make him awesome. How long has he been with us? and his goals + assists are very slim! Morgan flatters to deceive a lot of the time but under Adkins he is becoming more effective. For attacking threat you have to go with Chaplow. A very good and difficult question to answer and one I gladly leave to Adkins. Would not surprise me if Chaplow starts as he has worked with the rest of the squad all the time and Morgan has had the midweek game + travel.

Professor Posted 13 October, 2010 Posted 13 October, 2010 Chaplow is only on loan so I would only use him when necessary as cover for injuries or as a sub. If DH/MS are the future its best to play them together as much as possible.

I honestly feel that this will be exrended to January when we will then sign him permanently. And, by your reckoning, should also not play Guly? After all, he is only on loan as well (at the moment).

Seems from the rumblings in Preston that however good he is for us he has no future there. Although that did seem to be the same with Trotman and Antonio.
