Given that Hammond has started to turn in a few captains performances, in the last few games, who partners him in midfield against Huddersfield on Saturday? Morgan clearly adds a bit of class to the midfield but Chaplow offers a bit more bite and is probably better at breaking forward (hence why some of Guly's flick ons were so successful against Tranmere).

As we won and probably put in our best performance on Saturday, I'd probably go with the same starting eleven again but that would be harsh on Schneiderlin IMO, given the only reason he was missing was because of an international call up. A tough one and interesting to see what NA does...

I have confidence that NA will study DVDs of Huddersfield and play whoever he feels will be more effective. Away from home it may well be that Morgan and Hammond are a more solid midfield pairing, freeing up Lallana, Punch and Guly to express themselves. But whatever team goes out there has my utmost confidence. NASA!

I'd be inclined to go with Chaplow, gets forward, looks more threatening than Schneiderlin, works harder and gets back as well. As long as he's match fit he should start.

Having said that Morgan always looks sharper after playing for France, so I guess it's just nice to have the choice.

This is a really tough one IMO.

Never change a winning team is what I was always tought...... I thought that Chapppers was very impressive on Sat.

Given that Morgan played tonight and will possibly still be feeling it on Saturday (no idea how long he played for) I would stick with Chappers. Never hurts to have strong competition for places.

All that said, I totally agree with CWD. Whatever team NA puts out will fill me with confidence.

Who voted to bring back Wotton? :D

I did.

Lull them into a false sense of security and later on make a double change bringing on Spiderman and Chappers - bingo! They'd never know what hit them.

What a brilliant choice to have to make! We're very lucky to have two players of RC and MS's quality fighting for one position.

I agree with everything you've said here. I voted for Hammond and Chaplow but it is harsh on Spiderman if he doesn't play.

It will be Morgan with Chaplow to come on later. It was obvious that Chaplow is not competely match fit after his performance last Saturday, despite being good.

Morgan for me. He links up very well with Lallana when we're trying to create openings using high tempo one-touch passing, plus he's consistently out performed hammond this year. If anyone should make way for chaplow it's deano

Hammond really hasn't shown us what we bought him for. He does look better recently I agree, but his passing is still woeful.

When chappers is match fit, him and Morgan would be first on my team sheet in midfield.

It's an interesting one this. I voted for Morgan and Dean but think NA may stick with Chaplow!! I wasn't at the game Saturday so didn't watch him play but when he came on against Bournemouth I thought he looked very energetic but a little lost!

Either way we will win!!

In my opinion he will go with Morgan and Hammond. Both are almost on 5 yellows (which is part of the reason Chaplow was brought in) so he will play them with the expectation that one of them will pick up a yellow and have to serve a suspension at which point Chaplow comes in. He will want them to serve their suspensions while Chaplow is still here.

Give morgan a bit more licence to break forward and he would be an awesome player, he seems to get this licence for France and plays fantastic in that sort of position. So my two would be Hammond and Morgan. Hopefully Hammond plays like he did against Tranmere.

What a fickle lot you are,you would play a loanee and oust one of our best regulars, which obviously would upset him and then be surprised and disappointed if he wanted to leave in a transfer window..come on . .we need him to stay get behind Morgan, if you can't see his undoubted emerging talent then you are not watching closely enough.

Good grief, you're right. How could we all have been so insensitive.

Guly out! Pulis in!

I thought Chaplow was here on a month's loan so what is the point of playing him if he is to return to Preston in a couple of weeks

Or, the alternate view, why get a player in on loan for a month if you're not going to play him?

p.s. I think he was angling for a permanent move anyway?

His recent interview suggested as much. He was talking about extending to 3 months and then maybe permanently, if all parties were happy. The fact that all text on the OS regarding Chaplow's loan carries the word "initial" seems to back this up too.

In no way would signing Chaplow be a bad thing, thus we have to make him feel wanted and play him. Stick with the winning formula and give Morgan a short rest. They're men, not machines, have Morgan on the bench in case but stick with Dean and Chappers.

This simply isn't true. In fact he consistently plays the sort of forward balls, round the corner, creating openings that Schneiderlin doesn't play enough. Instead Schneiderlin will often attempt the 60 yard cross-fielder to ill-effect.

Don't get me wrong, MS is a good player and we are lucky to have him in L1, but Hammond's passing is much better than a lot of people realise.

As to who starts on Saturday... dunno!

by nearly on 5 do you mean 4 for Hammond and 3 for Morgan??

What a great choice to have by the way, 3 fantastic midfield players for this league.

Give Morgan a place on the bench though this weekend for me, don't change a winning side.

Currently 65% want Morgan in some form (if you see what I mean!) - so he hopefully will get the nod

As most people state though its a pretty good problem to have, as now we have 3 CM who are decent.

Is it a coincidence that since we signed Chaplow on loan, that Hammond has probably given his two best home performances for the club. I thought Chaplow was terrific on saturday,so NA has a tough call.

I hope we can sign Chaplow in january,he certainly adds something to the midfield.
