Haven't seen him on here for about a month.

Is he OK does anyone know?

I was thinking that yesterday when someone on the main board (in response to our little bournemouth friend) mentioned that we should treat him like a pet Hamster and pat him on the head. Then I thought, where is our little pet hamster?

This is good stuff. It just shows that if you make a valid contribution to an internet forum people will miss you and take action should you go missing for a while.

As one of my biggest fears (well not really a fear as I'll be dead), but it does worry me a bit that when I'm older and die, I will not be found until the decomposing smell of my corpse causes a passing postman to alert the authorities. This thread has reassured me that as I get older I need to contribute more so that when it happens, within a few weeks someone from the internet would have taken some action to ensure I’m discovered in the very early stages of decomposition.

that reminds me of a question. 'What is black and white and starved to death?'

Hamster wants to know if anyone can recommend a good restaurant in central Brighton - within walking distance. It's Mrs H's birthday and he wants to take her out to dinner.

Any ideas guys and gals? He'll be checking the forum tonight.

As it's Mrs H's birthday I presume budget is out the window, therefore I'd suggest Havana with the back up of Hotel Du Vin. Dermot O'Learys Fishy restaurant is pretty good too.

I know a couple of good spots for a nifht in Brighton, but not sure they'd be up his streeet so to speak, not if he wants to emerge with his 'pride' intact.

If you are stopping in a decent hotel then their restaurant might be worth a shout. All goes well and straight in the lift, if not then take a stroll along the beach and grab some romantic sea air, then bingo!

For a (really) nice mellow atmosphere with good food, try Estia (just off Western Road). Greek Cypriot place - slow roasted lamb shoulder I had there was amazing.

Havana and Hotel du Vin good shouts. Havent tried Dermot O'Leary's place. Terre a Terre in East Street is a veggie restaurant which is amazing - well worth going to to discover how much you dont miss meat when the veggie food is so well prepared. Drakes in Marine Parade is a quiet romantic place, great food, some think its the best in Brighton. Jamie Olivers Italian in Black Lion Street is good if you dont want to spend a shedload and want a buzzy atmosphere

Not tried terre a terre yet will give that a go soon. Agreed on Jamies place, very good value. The Chilli Pickle is my favourite Indian restaurant in town.

You silly sausages.

Had a great time in Brighton.

Went to In Vino as recomended, cheers BLINK. Lovely lovely food, in aprticular my firts time having fois gras. Our table was the only one where the candle wasn't alight so I lit it. Within seconds black smoke was drifting around the room and the smell was horrible, then little bits of black sooty stuff started to land on the white tablecloth. I quickly blew it out only to discover that it was in fact a plastic battery operated candle! I did tell the waiter and added that imo it was a fire risk, which really impressed him.

Best meal was an Italian though, 2 courses and glass of wine £9.99. Very animated waiter who flirted with all the ladies and offered us a 'cash deal' on the final bill. cash is King.

Saw some good acoustic sets in pubs and some very good buskers too, but stay away from the really crappy karaoke place near to Jamie's gaff.

Went to see this http://uk.brownpapertickets.com/event/125331 lead played by a transvestite who sang reaaly soulfully and was word perfect for the full hour and three quarters, I was busting for a pee though. I'd recomend it if you ever get the chance to see it.

Would recomend the Ghost Walk, led by a local thespian in full victorian get up and cracking funnies all the way around.

Artist's Quarter is a nice walk and I actually learnt a bit about modern art, having stood outside their studios on the beach and taking in exactly what theiy do when they seek inspiration.

mrs h bought me some new clothes in Dirty Harry's. I only let her buy the gear after the assistant said I looked cute dressed up though, note I have a wardrobe full of garments bought on my behalf by her in a vain attempt to trendy me up in the past. I'll take a gay man's opinion over her's any day of the week. Should partly thank Turkish for this bit too after reading his 'terrace fashion' thread.

Treated mrs h to a 'designer (read; bloody expensive) hair do, which she absolutely loved, her first porper hair cut since it grew back, she left with a tear in her eye which was quite a 'moment' tbh.

Pulled a muscle in my back whilst there too, but all in a good cause if you get my drift, we really are getting too old for that kind of thing. ;-)

Also met up with one of her cousins (who had moored their yacht in the marina), who she had not seen since being his bridesmaid about 40 years ago so all in all a pretty brilliant time had by all.

I could live in Brighton.

Enough attention seeking for one thread?

A simple 'I'm OK' would have sufficed.
