Whilst i am in a fan bashing mood, i have to say our fans must be up there with the scruffiest bunch in the country. I am not a fan off football shirts but i do accept that fans will wear them and to be honest our home and away shirt is quite smart, as football shirts go, so for once, shirters are excluded from this thread. However there are an incedibly high amount of studenty types with gay hair cuts, beany hats even in hot days and look more like they are going to a Bloc Party gig than a football match. Add that to the amount of sh*t brands like Bench, Berghaus, McKenzie and the fake Stone Island tops that seem to come out in the winter and it really does look like a bad delivery day at TK Maxx. However this weekend SMS fashion hit an all time low. I was rushing to my seat just before kick off when i almost bumped into the scruffiest looking geezer i have ever seen, he looked like an Afghan with a beany hat and all over trampy appearance, the guy looked ideal for a role as an extra in Shameless. Personally i always try to take a bit of pride in my appearance, but i do wonder what some people see, firstly when they go shopping and secondly when they look in the mirror when they go out the door, if indeed they have any.

so basically people cant dress how they want? shut up i wear beanies and skinny jeans go q_q over it.

LOL Turkish has found two niche markets to target this weekend and have a good moan. Sounds like you'd be better off listening to the games at home perhaps with your eyes shut. Hope you enjoyed the win yesterday dude.

first he moans people are scruffy then basically says kids with haircuts and look as if they try to hard to look nice are gay so basically hes chatting crap.

Whether it's fake or real Stone Island - the wearer still looks a pr1ck.

Do you know what Stone Island is? Can you even afford it and getting jealous, it that why your complaining?

What I've never understood about the casual label blokes is that if you're there for a good punch-up, why go in your smart expensive coat and probably get it all bloody/muddy/ripped up so you can't wear it out that evening (or any other evening) and use it to help your chances when cracking onto skanks in scabby nightclubs? Seems like a lot of money down the drain to me. And why wear flimsy trainers when a pair of big steel-toed boots will hurt someone a lot more? Also, some sort of colour scheme should be in order IMO - in all the football fights I've seen I've never had a clue which were ours and which were theirs, half the time you must end up belting another Saints bloke.

They skinheads had the right idea, if you ask me. If the Yoof want to start climbing that league table, they should go retro :)

thought this forum was supposed to be football related ,not a ****ing fashion site , what a load of ******** who cares what people wear just go down any high street, its football not a fashion parade

To be fair this isnt just a football problem, people in general are fashion victims. Just walk up Southampton high street on any given day and you will see what I mean.

The one that gets me is this wearing a short sleeved t-shirt, 3 quarter length trouser things, flip flops and a ******* scarf!!!

I presume that you do not visit other grounds then ??

If anything (and it is only my impression of course!) the crowd at SMS is far less scruffy/chavvy than most places !

Given that we hold football matches there and not bl**dy fashion shows the standard of dress is exactly what I would expect !

Personally, I 'dress down' when I go to games rather than get 'tarted up', in fact, until now, I haven't really thought about it !

god what would the fans of the 1930,s make of the ponces who worry more about clothes and whatpeople wear going to football:lol:

"Good heavens, just look at the state of that oik's cap. It doesn't fit him properly, isn't on straight and the beige clashes terribly with his grey overcoat. Bloody slum dwellers."

Being a Southern club i'd expect our fans wore trilbys wheras the northern monkeys wore flat caps. Even in those days we had the edge when it came to style.

As long as they use deodorant and don't have bad breath, what's the problem? Live and let live. Heaven forbid we start endorsing teen brands.

Fat/ugly/poorly dressed people make it easier for me to get laid. For as Homer Simpson once said: "Default? Woo hoo! The two sweetest words in the English language!" For this reason they may stay.

Still if Turkish wants to be our very own Gok Wan then good for him.

Or "you go girl" as he'd probably say.

Since this was put up it has gone quiet on the Turkish front:)

If you look closely in the bottom right corner you'll see he's spat his dummy out.

I saw this geezer at the match yesterday.

What's with the arms? I can only conclude there was a sale on at the megastore and he was trying to fly to get in there fast to snap up some more bargains.

Mah Boon Krong.

I'm off there again for New Year. Has a number of outlet shops (as opposed to the fake stuff, theirs is all real). What should I be looking out for to wear underneath my Saints (BOGOFF) Grey Branded lightweight waterproof, US Outlet Mall Wranglers and my Original SMS Megastore Slash shirt.

I'm now confused, I thought my Gap, Aeropostal, Nautica, Gantt, Abercrombie & Fitch stuff was fine to wear, matched off with a pair of lightweight Timberland waterproof cross-trainers. Now I'm really concerned that I have to rethink my shopping on my next trip. i would not want to upset the Chapel End massive

Last Saturday I went to St. Marys and really enjoyed the afternoon. A great performance and a good time had by one and all. Or so I thought. What I didn't realise was that among the crowd there were the 'noise and chant police' and 'fashion police'. I can't imagine I will enjoy the Oldham game as I will be looking around to see who is making notes on my behaviour! I am now concerned about eating anything - will my choice of food be considered wrong in the eyes of the 'food police'.

I dont consider Berghaus to be chavvy either. Its origins are in outdoor clothing (and very good quality at that), it all went wrong for them (or right from a commercial point of view) when this happened...

Liam Gallagher wearing a Berghaus at Glastonbury c.1996, forced the brand into the main stream. Most of the people you see wearing one have probably never seen a tree, let alone climb a mountain etc...

It's the same with Helly Hanson, I doubt too many of the chavs whgo wear it can sail.

Yep. Its ordinary chav gear but massively overpriced to make it seem to the hard of thinking that they've 'made it' when wearing it. £1,000 for a nylon parka?

http://www.stoneisland.co.uk/outerwear/soft-touch-microfibre-hooded-parka-in-navy/invt/00531543149v0020/

"Fabric Composition: Outer: 100% Nylon, Lining: 100% Nylon, Finish: 100% Polyurethane, Padding: 100% Down ."

For f*cks sake, the bloody thing is made from cheap man-made fabrics, apart from the Down. And is that cheaper Duck down, or Eider? For that price, I'd expect a garment to be made from Cashmere, Silk or Angorra, with platinum and diamond fastenings. As you say, Tim, anybody who forks out that amount of dosh for that load of garbage must be a moron with more money than sense, like perhaps a footballer.

The trainers and haircut are so seventies Turkish.

Needs to do something about shaving the skull more closely, as the bald pate is clearly visible at the back, whereas I'm guessing that the purpose of the shaven head is to disguise how bald the individual really is.

Don't get me started on that.

Anyone who wears a scarf when the warmest top they are wearing is a t-shirt needs to think long and hard about their life.

I wonder what Turkish would think about people with their forum names on the backs of their shirts?

My pet hate are the three-quarter trousers - what's the point? They always seem to be worn by the most overweight people and are totally unflattering - makes your bum look even bigger - why would you want to do that? One advantage of winter is that they will disappear for a few months. Still, cleanliness is the most important thing - guy just behind me in the Kingland looks like he's been eating, sleeping and drinking in the same set of clothes since we moved into St. Mary's.
