Turkish Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 (edited) Whilst i am in a fan bashing mood, i have to say our fans must be up there with the scruffiest bunch in the country. I am not a fan off football shirts but i do accept that fans will wear them and to be honest our home and away shirt is quite smart, as football shirts go, so for once, shirters are excluded from this thread. However there are an incedibly high amount of studenty types with gay hair cuts, beany hats even in hot days and look more like they are going to a Bloc Party gig than a football match. Add that to the amount of sh*t brands like Bench, Berghaus, McKenzie and the fake Stone Island tops that seem to come out in the winter and it really does look like a bad delivery day at TK Maxx. However this weekend SMS fashion hit an all time low. I was rushing to my seat just before kick off when i almost bumped into the scruffiest looking geezer i have ever seen, he looked like an Afghan with a beany hat and all over trampy appearance, the guy looked ideal for a role as an extra in Shameless. Personally i always try to take a bit of pride in my appearance, but i do wonder what some people see, firstly when they go shopping and secondly when they look in the mirror when they go out the door, if indeed they have any. rocknrollman no2 Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 Just out of interest Turkish, tell us how you go dressed to a footy match?Personally i could do with some fashion tips.
scott_saints Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 What if it's real Stone Island? Is it then acceptable?
dune Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 Whether it's fake or real Stone Island - the wearer still looks a pr1ck.
swannymere Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 Whether it's fake or real Stone Island - the wearer still looks a pr1ck. A giant ***** at that.
Turkish Posted 10 October, 2010 Author Posted 10 October, 2010 Whether it's fake or real Stone Island - the wearer still looks a pr1ck. some SI can look quite smart, but i have to say i am coming round to the opinion that in a lot of cases it looks chavy and the decent stuff is made to look cheaper but the amount of mugs wearing cheaper/fake stuff.
SO16_Saint Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 Just out of interest Turkish, tell us how you go dressed to a footy match?Personally i could do with some fashion tips. See those guys off of X-Factor, Diva Fever? Like that!!
RedArmy Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 True, but you're never too far from a pair of Adidas Originals at a Saints game and that's not a bad thing.
Turkish Posted 10 October, 2010 Author Posted 10 October, 2010 Just out of interest Turkish, tell us how you go dressed to a footy match?Personally i could do with some fashion tips. yesterday i wore a pair of addidas forest hills, some dark blue Paul Smith jeans, a white t-shirt and a navy Ralph Lauren zip top with white piping on the collar, very smart, yet at the same time casual.
scott_saints Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 I am slightly concerned about the current generation of teens who seem to think it's acceptable to have gay wavy/long hair etc. Man up.
benjii Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 Turkish, good observation. I think some guidance is in order. Dear reader, please aspire for style like this: and less of this filth:
Turkish Posted 10 October, 2010 Author Posted 10 October, 2010 True, but you're never too far from a pair of Adidas Originals at a Saints game and that's not a bad thing. Size have got some cracking black Spezials in last time i looked, going to stock up i think.
scott_saints Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 With regards to original Adidas trainers, and don't get me wrong because I wear them aswell. But I find the lovefest surrounding them, and the "Look at mine, they are rarer than yours" attitude quite cringeworthy!
John Boy Saint Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 I saw a couple of older gentlemen yesterday in the shop they were wearing our new shirt, but these shirts looked like they had both been climbing trees, scrimping, and rolling down hills on their way to the ground.
croydonsaint Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 please tell me this is a joke.............it is a joke isnt it and im not getting it?
Lighthouse Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 I usually wear either Or Or And for away days
Turkish Posted 10 October, 2010 Author Posted 10 October, 2010 please tell me this is a joke.............it is a joke isnt it and im not getting it? there is nothing funny about walking around looking like a tramp.

Sounds like ive a lot to learn. Yesterday i wore my retro Saints shirt with jeans from C and A with a nice turn up at the end, though i did give in to youth fashion by wearing a pair of Reeboks.

Turkish Posted 10 October, 2010 Author Posted 10 October, 2010 must be that high salary you are on nothing to do with how much people earn, it's about having pride in yourself.
Turkish Posted 10 October, 2010 Author Posted 10 October, 2010 Black? These are better. prefer the darker blue, the black ones aren't even on the size website, smart though. Gazelles are classic too.
alehouseboys Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 Hopefully the fashions from the 80s football days will come back :/ Is that an old snapshot of some of the 'Wagon' boys? Looks like a young Richie-what's-is-name third from right! Anyways, this was considered acceptable attire once upon a time...

So that was you. You sort of do this wriggle with your bottom when your walking, is it called mincing? You did look smart though. I saw you eying up these scruffy fans with a look of such disdain on your face.

Saintandy666 Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 Bench and McKenzie are very chavvy brands.
croydonsaint Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 In my day it was ladybird or st. michaels
dubai_phil Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 Be careful with the Paul Smith Jeans. All over the place these days in Bangkok for 8 quid a pair. Hope your's weren't bought "at a good price"
Deppo Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 I remember when football was about football and beer, not a bloomin' dating agency for the homosexual community. If you're more interested in what other men are wearing than you are in the football, then I suggest you save your money and take a free walk around the common, at night.

Hope your's weren't bought "at a good price" Why bother - you can get two pairs of Tescos own brand for eight quid - or they not acceptable at SMS...!!!
dune Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 I've just visited the trinny and sussana OS to get some tips.

Ponty Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 When did blokes start caring about labels? If it looks good and feels good, who the hell cares who made it? Man up, ffs.
Ponty Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 And by "Looks good" I mean if you like it yourself. Who cares what anyone else thinks?
scott_saints Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 Who cares what anyone else thinks? Most people.
Hatch Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 People who sit in the front 5 or 6 rows should wear ties at least.
Ponty Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 Most people. They need to grow some self-esteem then.
sfc4prem Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 It's all about the confidence. Keep the good advice going. I've wipped out the notepad.
Hatch Posted 10 October, 2010 Posted 10 October, 2010 We need more Rule 1s from the so called experts on here. Show me where I am going wrong.

That was in Kingsland North while I was queing for a beer about 10mins before kickoff. I have never seen anything like it at any football match let alone Saints.
