RedAndWhite91 Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Can't say I've ever heard of him. But then again I'd never heard of Antonio and he did well with us. Good luck to him.
Bartosz Bialkowski Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 we must have a link somewhere with reading? Yeah M3 and A33 - 48 miles
Nexstar Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Doesn't look to have had a big impact at his previous loan clubs, but maybe he just needs to find his feet. Pacey and strong is what we need as an attacking option
saintsforlife7 Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Straight up front with Lambert tommorow or start on the bench and come on?
Jesus Reigned Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Straight up front with Lambert tommorow or start on the bench and come on? I'd go bench to start and bring him on if it's not happening; alas I can see that being the case as Tranmere will no doubt park the bus.....
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 I'm sure many will whinge that he isn't Antonio. Sounds promising, he plays for Reading who play at a higher level than us, so beggars can't be choosers. I hope he starts.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Don't know anything about him myself. Hopefully he has something about him as we desperatly need options up top...
oxfordshire_saint Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Asked a Reading supporting mate of mine about him, said he's had limited involvement there but is a big lad and pacy to boot. Sounds exactly what we need, should be keen to impress.
thesaint sfc Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 His Wikipedia page doesn't suggest he's too outstanding - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Bignall But I guess we'll have to wait and see! Good luck to the fellah.
Wes Tender Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Looks as if he can take care of himself and will be an asset for the next late night booze session at the White House.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Hey, let's improve another player for Reading and then watch as they won't let us sign him permanently, if he does well! Seriously though, welcome Nicholas. Let's hope you're the pacey, strong striker we need. Does this mean Barney will be out for a bit with his hand injury?
Waxer Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Blimey, he's been on the town with Barney already http://www.givemefootball.com/GMF/files/37/37eae5d8-f725-4209-8d45-18a075b3be50.jpg
scottydog Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 had limited involvement there but is a big lad and pacy to boot. QUOTE] 5.10 big is your mate a dwarf
simo Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 No better than Doble imo so what's the point we have our own youngsters who need game time !
Gordon Mockles Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 No better than Doble imo so what's the point we have our own youngsters who need game time ! Apparently it helps if they are actually eligable to play in the Tranmere match and not away representing the Under 21 national squad!
Chez Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 No better than Doble imo so what's the point we have our own youngsters who need game time ! is he not? Can you describe both players in some detail as many of us on here haven't seen either player at all. Whichis quicker, better int he air, better touch, movement, do they come short, run the channels, dribble, shoot from long range, good in the air, can they beat a man, sharp, work hard across the line, create or finish, goal hangers. I think you get the picture.
S-Clarke Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 No better than Doble imo so what's the point we have our own youngsters who need game time ! he's away....with wales. This is a good signing, along with Antonio and hal-robson kanu this is one of readings promising players. Very quick, strong and powerful. If you want a comparison he's kind of like a young Patrick Agymang - i've seen him play once or twice.
simo Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 No better than Doble imo so what's the point we have our own youngsters who need game time !
S-Clarke Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 No better than Doble imo so what's the point we have our own youngsters who need game time ! You've already said that, and saying it twice doesn't make it any more valid.
fish fingers Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Apparently it helps if they are actually eligable to play in the Tranmere match and not away representing the Under 21 national squad! Senior squad. He's too good for the U21's
oxfordshire_saint Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 had limited involvement there but is a big lad and pacy to boot. QUOTE] 5.10 big is your mate a dwarf Must've meant physique-wise rather than height!
Dynamo Naive Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 You aren't far wrong with that remark: http://www.reading.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=216311
derry Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 My son is a mate of a senior Reading first team player, I got him to ask about Bignall. 'He's good, really quick and strong, a bit raw at times, but has got a great strike on his left foot, can play wide, but is better up the middle'. He sounds like a good signing if only for the short term.
pap Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 You aren't far wrong with that remark: http://www.reading.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=216311 He's backup for Barnard in the White House.
Liquidshokk Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 You aren't far wrong with that remark: http://www.reading.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=216311 Comments are a bit harsh arent they? Didnt realise Reading fans had beef with us..
TijuanaTim Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 You aren't far wrong with that remark: http://www.reading.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=216311 Oh the irony FFS
Nadia Sllim Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Sounds like a Tory MP as opposed to a footballer, anyway good luck.
david in sweden Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Looks as if he can take care of himself and will be an asset for the next late night booze session at the White House. just as long as we don't get too many sarcastic comments about NA having to empty out the cells to make up a team !
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Comments are a bit harsh arent they? Didnt realise Reading fans had beef with us.. Just another smaller club trying to be our rivals.
Saintandy666 Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Tomorrow I'd start with Lambert and Guly, then bring him on at say 60 minutes if it's going badly.
John B Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 Can't say I've ever heard of him. But then again I'd never heard of Antonio and he did well with us. Good luck to him. Yes totally agree with you
scotty Posted 8 October, 2010 Posted 8 October, 2010 just as long as we don't get too many sarcastic comments about NA having to empty out the cells to make up a team ! lol, that occurred to me as well, NA's team selection on friday night- "ok, who's fit, in form and out on bail?"
rolosfc Posted 9 October, 2010 Posted 9 October, 2010 Hopefully be another Waigo/Antonio, quick, direct and a different option.
Professor Posted 9 October, 2010 Posted 9 October, 2010 I'm sure many will whinge that he isn't Antonio. Sounds promising, he plays for Reading who play at a higher level than us, so beggars can't be choosers. I hope he starts.Wouldn't get too worked up yet. This lad is a Reading reserve, not a first team player, which is why they are willing to send him out on loan. This is probably the best we can do, but its encouraging that they have brought somebody in, even if it is for a short period. There's no reason to think he will be anything special, but he is striker which suggests he may do better than one of our midfield players played out of position. He may well be behind Goble in the pecking order and how long he stays could depend on what happens to Barnard. If Barnard's future with the club depends on his assault case, a better long term option will be needed.

Saint Fan CaM Posted 18 October, 2010 Posted 18 October, 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/reading/9102757.stm Mmm, if it wasn't for Lamberts head injury I would suspect that the above news would have seen the end of his loan with us. As it is, I can see an extension to Xmas.
