Breaking saints news - loan signing?? (Nicholas Bignall, from Reading)

I wonder whether this was in the pipeline regardless of the situation with Lee Barnard at the weekend or whether that event triggered this move?

was wondering the same, wouldn't be surprised either way - Adknis has been talking as if someone may come in - Barnard may have focussed his mind a bit

2 goals in 2 starts for Reading (both League Cup), and being a youngster, his goal-scoring stats are pretty impressive.

5"10 indicates he's been bought in more for Barnard than Lambert

Until 4th novermber accoridng to the official site.

Says he's quick and powerful, defo a jaidi look-a-like. Was hoping it was gonna be the liverpool striker Eccleston or Agoo but we'll take this.

Didnt fancy antonio when we signed him but look what he turned into.

Just been tweeted by a Reading supporting mate - Speedy and can finish. Another Antonio! Looks good if he's anything like that

Sounds like he will be a good additon to our current squad. Pacey players are just what we are lacking at the moment. The trouble is IF he does perform any where as good as Antonio did, Reading will take him back and reap the benefits again.

As with all loans both parties `benefit'. Us in the short term Reading in the long. Personally I think if he helps us get promoted then I don't care who else benefits. The long and short of it is we are short up front so we need to bring a player in.

Looks like a young Jaidi

That shirt's still not doing it for me (I was quite keen originally but all badged-up and with the 'sash' just stopping square at the shoulder it looks like a right dog's dinner ... incoming!)

But...we're Southampton FC by far the greatest team the world has ever seen...surely we're the only ones that should benefit??? :toppa:

Fair point. It would just would be nice to hold on to some of the better loans we bring in from time to time. I hope he does the business for us.

The first time that any player for any club that I can remember has shared the same family name as me, slight spelling difference, and I am white not black, well I say that, from the waist down I am. (just kidding)

Oh god.... And he's been bailed so could end up going down too! If he's still on our books then we could have two of our strikers behind bars :-S

Says on Echo "He is due for trial before Reading Crown Court on December 13, after his initial loan period at Saints has ended"

My son is a mate of a senior Reading first team player, so I got him to ask about Bignall. The answer, 'he's good, really quick and strong, a bit raw at times but has got a great strike on his left foot, he can play wide but is better up the middle'. It sounds like a good signing but only short term.
