Pulis gone! on loan to end of season

Good news, Pulis in the squad to play Torquay, looking good for the weekend for the Gulls before the League dock points for playing unregistered player.

I was surprised by the comments on the Barnet site that suggested that young Pulis is in good condition, having "played plenty of football this season". Does 10 games for Stockport count as plenty of football? Still it does mean now that he has made 38 appearances as a professional footballer, thats almost a full season's worth, pity it has take 8 years to reach that number. Good luck Anth, hope they like you at Barnet, the number of clubs left that might be an option is dwindling fast.

....and have you noticed, he's moving up in the league.

Stockport are currently 24th (i.e. bottom) whereas Barnet ...are only 22nd !

...surely Nicola Cortese should be considering a large fee if he stays there after May ..?

You havent factored in that Stockport are 24th after Pulis played for them but Barnet are currently enjoying 22nd before Pulis plays.

The joke is really wearing thin.

He's a Saints player, FFS, probably tried to be more of one than the likes of Puncheon. He might not be able to cut it, but he gets the p*ss taken out him like he plays for Pompey.

But its been clear for years he wasnt going to get a game either under his dad or at Saints. If he had dropped down the leagues to find his level and be able to play regularly he would have my full respect. Drawing a wage for not playing, and knowing you wouldn't play makes him the inevitable butt of jokes imo.

Alpine don't take this the wrong way...but if you had seen him play...and unlike the Prof I have several times you wouldn't be saying that.

Slow, gives the ball away constantly, shocking tackles....he shouts and talks a good game but can't do any of the things he advises others to do.

I could try more than Puncheon...I only played at Hampshire league level but I honestly believe I could of done what Pulis did in the games I saw him in...except I may have had a better passing completion rate!

Can't blame the lad really. As the above article debates/explains, can we really lose respect for someone for making as much money as he can from the game? His contract here is better he'll get anywhere else and playing or not can be argued doesn't really come into it.

The person/persons who gave him the said contract should be the butt of the jokes imo.

Lighten up FFS, he's crap by our standards and was always going to be a running gag because of the circumstances.

Whilst I admire the sentiment behind the post alpine, as said above if you'd seen him play then you would have a different perspective. I had the misfortune to see him in a very poor Stockport side this season, & he even managed to look awful here, he couldn't even hold down a regular 1st team place. He was dropped to the bench after 11 (3-cup) games & he was used as a substitute. Should be noted that Stockport didn't try to keep him/extend the loan for the season! He is just to slow not much ability simply put just not a professional footballer. If given the opportunity I'd have given it a right go, just like Pulis, but like him I was only good enough for sunday league football realised this & went and got a real job & played for fun. Puncheon has a temperament short cut & needs to sort his head out somewhere. As for Pulis He will probably trawl around several clubs at the foot of Div-2 for a couple of seasons & then disappear into non-league football.

Not knowing the terms of the loan it will be interesting to see how long he holds down a first team place at Barnet?

And where are all the people who were claiming his contract ended in mid-August now, huh ?

Admittedly Christ only knows how he got that extension for the third year, but all football contracts over 1 year end on July 1st, so once he was still here on July 2nd he wasn't going anywhere.

I feel very very sorry for Stockport, they must be cack. As long as he doesn't end up at Newport County I won't care.

Replace Stockport with Barnet.

I have a begrudging admiration for making so much money with so little ability. But then even that was his dad's doing.

It would make my year if the Skate Cheats signed him in the summer, but somehow I doubt it - unless they go bankrupt in the meantime and are restarting at Southern League feeder level.

Most former Pompey players get the **** taken. Not sure Pulis counts as ex-Pompey given he made same number of appearances for them as he has for us. The joke here is that someone who shall remain nameless ever thought he would make it here and gave him a long contract and on terms which means he is happy to stay here with no chance of ever getting a game. Just because he is a Saints player, does not mean he deserves to be treated with respect as a player. Al Dia was a joke, but at least he made an appearance, albeit a brief one. This guy would not be a pro footballer if it wasn't for who his dad is, and the wages we are paying for him due to the mess that the former chairman made means that we will have had to ket at least one, pobably more talented youngster go as a result. That is the joke, and it is very sad for those kids who get left on the scrap heap because of this cock-up

On loan at Barnet until the end of the season.

From the Barnet web site

Pulis is :-

A Central Midfielder

He works hard

He Tackles

He likes to get on the ball

He likes to pass the ball

ALL Great revelations, but why were we not told this londg ago ???

We might have even thought he had aspirations to be a FOOTBALLER

What an absolute ***t

Pulis Senior is such a good negotiator, he should broker a peace deal in Egypt

It clear that Pulis will not make the standard required for a place in the Saints' team but the constant rubbishing of the player by some posters merely shows their own ignorance. He may not be good enough for L1 but football professionals who are better placed than your average fan, obviously think he can do a job for them in L2. Giving him experience so that a club may want to sign him permamently makes good sense, in the meantime, how about just laying off him, as some of the comments suggest we have a few former school bullies in the fan base, which is very sad (for them).

What rubbish. Only the very bottom clubs in L2 have taken a risk with Pulis, Stockport, Lincoln and now Barnet. Yet even these team, all desparate for players because they have no money have not sought to keep him beyond his loan period and he has been hawked around (or hawked himself around) to one after another. 40 professional appearances in about 6 years demonstrates quite clearly that even L2 is beyond young Pulis on a regular basis. There have been ample opportunities for him to be siged permanently, no-one is interested, I would venture to suggest that we are also paying his wages, so that some of these hard-up teams can at least give him an opportunity. Sorry if you think this is unfair, but the truth hurts, some players have to realise that they are just not going to make it, and in fact are stopping younger players with more talent getting an opportunity they deserve. How you come to think that some people who make negative comments about the guy are bullies is also pitiful, you could not be further from the truth in fact, at least in my case.

And now he has been sent off. So thats another game or 3 that Barnet will have to do without him, must be so pleased to have him on their books.
