you do not just need a season ticket holder, anyone can buy one adult ticket and can get another for half price.

season ticket holders can buy extra seats for £7.50

This is good news, about time we saw some pricing incentives in a bid to drive up crowds, we know saints have the fanbase out there, but while we are languishing in division 3 there is a chance for some of the more fair-weather fans to drift away.

Sat 9th - v Tranmere

Sat 23rd v Oldham

Tue 2nd v Dagenham

we should be looking at 20k + at those prices.

It doesn't say in the article, but I assume these deals will be available for people who walk up to the ticket office on the day of the game and pay on the day and not just booked in advance?

Posted

Oh and just one more question, my reading of it is that it is one additional ticket at £7.50 per season ticket holder per game, we can't buy more than that per season ticket?

At the bottom it says not!

Yes it does.

Please note that these offers WILL NOT be available on the day of the games.

It says in the article...

There is no limit on the number of offer tickets available.

Technically this is wrong as Saints can't sell more than 32k tickets! ;)

If any ST holders want to get me a ticket for the Tranmere game with this offer, i'd be very grateful (and i'll obviously pay for it). PM me if you want to help a poor person see the footy!

if you are going to the Tranmere game, and want to get the cheap extra tickets for Oldham and Dagenham, go along to the ticket office and buy them then, will save you on the ticket tax.

A bit disappointing its not available on the day! Apart from living in ... (well, you can tell where I live), I'm working in Basingstoke, commuting by train, so I really can't get to SMS before Friday night. Can we book over the phone or online? Or is it in person only? Are they trying to move fans away from walk-up to committed?? I like to be a walk-up as I have to factor in my son's homework workload, what the missus is doing, and the weather! I get there as often as I can when all indicators are 'go for it'. :)

1) you can buy them over the phone.

2) the weather forecast for this weekend is excellent - http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/308?&search=winchester&itemsPerPage=10&region=world&area=Winchester

3) get your son to do his homework friday night.

Booked up some for my mates using my ST, it's unlimited.

Just to clarify, are you saying I can get 5 extra £7.50 tickets for my mates with my one ST?

Posted

I ordered two additional tickets in the Northam yesterday, they arrived today and have been charged £22 each for them, will I be able to get a refund for the difference.

I should think so, give them a ring first thing tomorrow.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that's what it says. It's a great deal to be fair.

I would doubt it. It's like buying a dress one week and then finding it in the sale the next week. (That has happened to me countless times) :) The shop won't give you a refund, will they? I'm sure the Club's response will be 'tough titty' although I'd be surprised if they used that phrase. :)

Posted
I bet none of the attendances go above our average of 21,000 though...

We had nearly 27000 on sat for the bompey game, i reckon we'll easily get 25000+ at these prices

If that was the case I would take the dress back as it would be unused and get back my money back and then buy it again at the reduced price.

I take it this deal has to also apply for away fans? If so, then the three teams might bring a few, but otherwise can't see much more than 300/400 max away fans for any of the three teams we're playing, 22/23k would still be good attendances for any of these I reckon, but it's now a chance for fans to show that if ticket prices are dropped they will start filling the ground, takes away a lot of people's reason for not attending or is it just the "glamour" of the opposition that makes the difference?

Posted
I tried to buy 4 tickets over the phoen for Daggers game with ST and they said that you can only buy one for the deal on a ST not unlimited like the implied.

Oh for f**ks sake, how can we even get a good offer like this wrong? It says on that article "There is no limit on the number of offer tickets available. However, please note that these offers WILL NOT be available on the day of the games". But on the other hand further up the page it says "Season ticket holders needn't feel left out as they have the opportunity to purchase an additional ticket for just £7.50 with no age restirctions". So it is only one per season ticket, just not entirely clear in the original article!

You're not legally entitled to return a purchase for refund and/or exchange unless the goods are faulty.

The retailer can of course offer a 'no questions asked' returns service if they choose but they are under no legal obligation to do so.

Does anyone know whether the season ticket holder has to buy the additional tickets or would I be able to go down with my friends season ticket number and postcode to buy them, providing he has given me permission, which he has!

Yeah just say you're him, all they ask is name, postcode and season ticket number.

In the case of an online purchase, such as the tickets, the Distance Selling Regulations apply and you are entitled to return any item, regardless, with in 7 days for a refund.

So, LS could return the tickets, get a refund and then re-purchase tickets at the new rate.

The ticket office have been very helpful as always and I repurchased the tickets at the offer price, which in fact will mean that they will now attend all three games for the original price of one game.

Posted
can you book online or phone and then collect the tickets on the day of the match??

Yes you can, just don't leave it too late to arrive at the stadium. Usually the queues for collections are longer than the ones for sales.

Posted

This is a very welcome initative, as not only will the additional support be helpful to the team, but there could well be a spin-off increase of revenue for the club in terms of additional sales in the concourse and the shop.

Yeah I thought the unlimited tickets was too good to be true. But to be fair the original article on the OS does say: "Season Ticket holders needn't feel left out as they have the opportunity to purchase AN additional ticket for just £7.50."

I suppose that the "unlimited" bit means that there is not just say 500 tickets available at the reduce rate.

Whilst welcoming the idea of getting extra people to the game with the £7.50 offer for tickets which is an excellent idea, I do despair at the marleting of the hospitality offers. £35 for a beer, curry and seat at the match (£41 after VAT) sounds appealing. I am tempted by this and could bring my dad as a birthday present to him.

HOWEVER

I am a season ticket holder and have already paid for a ticket for the game. I don't really want to pay twice for the same game. Why isn't there a scheme whereby I could sell my ticket back to the club for a match when I was going for the hospitality package ?? I would be much more likely to take up the hospitality offers (and bring others who aren't even going to the game) if I didn't feel that I was going to be paying twice to watch the same game of football.

thank you for that, I would go collect it at about 12.30pm, so if you can do that, thats great

Yeah, that was kind of my point with the quotes, still a good deal, but maybe not the clearest communication.

12.30 is a good time to pick up, shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes at that time of day.

I'm fairly certain I've seen before somewhere that if ST holders book a hospitality package they are refunded the cost of the matchday ticket. It may have been in the back of an old ST voucher booklet. I've just checked mine and it isn't stating that this season, maybe worth a phonecall. There is a voucher at the back of the booklet for a 10% discount for ST holders which could be an added bonus.

I'm sure you can tart your spare ST around on here and somebody will take it for, say, half of the regular admission fee (that's pretty much what you'd pay per game anyway).

Bournemouth had 3,200 of that 26,000 attendance. Only 2,000 Saints fans more than our average.

Tranmere, Oldham and Dagenham are three games which at normal prices would struggle to attract 17,000 in my opinion, hence the reason why the club has decided to do this special deal.

TBF that's a pretty good offer and it's also buy 2 get a third free!

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2175934,00.html

That's 3 games, 3 curries, 3 pints and good seats for £82 and you can also take a kid (under 14) for nothing each time. No brainer if you take the nipper to SMS.

I was originally under the impression that it was any 3 games but it's only the next 3.

The article was unclear yet again!

Using my 1 season ticket I bought 3 for tranmere on the phone yesterday. Went to pick them up this afternoon and bought 13 tickets over the next 3 games while I was at it. Seems pretty unlimited to me...
