I met him once.

Approached him and asked for an autograph which he duly obliged, however...

when I asked him I called him Mr Rogers (Kenny) and told him it was for my mum, he wrote 'To ******, Love Willie Nelson. I only noticed my error after he'd gone.

Anyhow, this is a great song that fill me with pride:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjUA3RU4B8E

dune, you'll love this then.

I love the tune mate. In fact I like all sorts of music except music of afro american descent including jazz, drum n base (not all all but a lot) and most of the garbage in the charts today. 60's music was far better than the monotonous same same ballads of the manufactured pop stars we see more and more today.

No irony to beat the scenes of hundreds of Levellers fans wearing fashionably crusty clothing singing in unison "There's only way in life and that's your own."

Am i bovd what you think, it's a top top tune from when I was in my early teens and is timeless.

Anyone used to listen to weird **** like trance europe express?- here's a sample but this isn't a weird as most of the tracks. Not banging tunes, but reat to listen to relaxing. That said not the best, prefer some classic judge jules any day.

And from the weird to the jumping to the classics ..... it's all good - but I wish i could find "you basterd" or "ride like the wind to be free again" - cos they are ace.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7MTovwUSY4&feature=fvst

If you look into it, you'll discover that a huge amount of the best 60s music was of "afro american descent".

Quite right Hamilton Saint.

In fact, I would go so far as to say that ALL popular music of the 20th (& 21st) century is of "Afro-American" descent except maybe country & western.

I find it quite amusing that anyone could be ignorant enough to delineate their dislike of specific genres of music along racial boundaries.

As for Dune's dance music videos........ It is a fact that the modern dance music scene began in American clubs such as the Warehouse in Chicago and the Paradise Garage in New York. These clubs were frequented by young black men, many of whom were gay.

Many of the DJs who played at these clubs such as Larry Levan were also black and gay.

(I also find it ironic that one of the forum's most openly 'right-wing' posters should proclaim his love of the Levellers; a band that espoused anything but 'right-wing' values and who took their name from a political group that could almost be seen as socialist anarchists!)

Popular music is a miss match of all sorts of styles which came together is a mass creative explosion in the 60's. The great thing about it was the diversity and mix of races, from Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn backing black soul singers to Johnny Cash championing The Staples singers and other black artists on his prime time show. Even in the deep south the musicans were mixing and playing together at a time when the rest of that society was in deep conflict. British bands took this up with the Stones, Beatles ect playing both black and "white" Country music.

Anyway here's a great song for Dune, I'm sure he'll agree with the sentiment expressed.

Bert - I think that Dirt is better for not having that song on it. I find Man In A Box a bit cheesy!

Which remix is that LV? There's seemingly hundreds of Timber remixes. And have you ever seen Hexstatic live? They are immense, one of the best live experiences you can have.

No way. Different style though. It wouldnt suit the style/feel of Dirt. IMO Dirt is the best grunge album ever.

Timber has been remixed to death! The 'DK Recut' was on one of the two CD singles I had.

Saw Hexstatic quite a few times as they were a regular every month at the Ninja Funkungfusion nights in London in the late 90s. Would liked to have seen them more recently though at a bigger venue - love that Bert and Ernie clip!
