Turkish Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 nothing but repect for them, they were a credit to their club. I thought they did really well and can remember them having at least two shots on goal, in the first minute and 85th minute. They tried really hard and did well to keep the score down to 2-0 thanks to some luck, bad finishing when Barnard shot straight at the keeper when clean through and the ref blowing up Puncheon when clean through on goal. And the cheeky little scamps had the nerve to say "the referees a scummer" lol! I am glad their fans enjoyed their big day out too, although they were a little on the quiet side, probably still excited from taking pictures of themselves outside the ground and the nerves of being lucky enough to play at St Marys twice in 8 weeks. Plucky old Bournemouth, a brave performance and a great day for their cute little club, bless 'em.
sfc4prem Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 Haahaa. I hope they enjoyed their day out at our delightful stadium.
Soton7 Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 Never seen so many away fans coming out of our 'Mega Store' with lots of souvenirs...awww hopefully they had a nice day xx
CityRanger Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 Standard day for Saints fans. For them, something to tell the grandchildren about.
Robsk II Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 Good post. Agree with the sentiment. Must've been really special for them. One day they'll be able to tell their grandkids "I was at SMS and we only lost 2-0. Halcyon days.". Sweet, really.
BadgerBadger Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 (edited) Patronising sentimental bolloks They we're sh1te - poor support (apart from numbers) we've had alot less make alot more noise - and the side were no different from other teams we see SM. Let's see where they are in April. Edited 2 October, 2010 by BadgerBadger
Mr saint Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 The few I spoke to were lovely and I hope they enjoyed their day. They're a good bunch really. Definately a day they'll never forget! When the official AFC Bournemouth derby day DVD is released I'll be sure to buy one for my (cherry supporting) uncle for Christmas.
Draino76 Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 Who is Bornemouth? I hope they had a nice time anyway.
Ohio Saint Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 I like Bournemouth. They make animal shapes out of candles in c@ckle jars. What is to dislike about that?
niceandfriendly Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 We all like Bournemouth. It's just a shame that our little brother is jealous of us and doesn't reciprocate the feelings. It's not all bad though; one of their fans offered me some of his Werthers Originals before kick off.
The Kraken Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 Bless them. And what wonderful humour. "We've got more points than you", they sang. Brilliant little scamps.
chocco boxo Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 Spoke to a few who were very apprehensive about being in a crowd that went into 5 figures. One fan of over 30 years was making his first away trip. As one other Cherry fan said to me "it does not get better than this".
Didcot Saint Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 This thread is hilarious! Bless em I'm sure they are tucked up and cosy back in their retirement homes by now.
brianoneils slidingtackle Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 bless the lot of them, I'm sure that they enjoyed their big day out, i had to give instructions to a few cherry fans on how to to get to SMS, i said "follow the crowd" they said "whats a crowd"
simo Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 I even heard one saying " I wish I was a saints fan there the best " !
alehouseboys Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 I left right on the final whistle, did they do the now customary 'losers lap of honour' at cup finals?
Deppo Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 I disagree with the OP. I don't think Bournemouth were a credit to themselves today. They played poorly, their managed whinged and their fans became violent at the final whistle. I don't see what was good about them today. I would actually be very disappointed if I was a Cherries fan this morning.

ChrisPY Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 I thought they were a lovely bunch to start with but after we went 2-0 up I was nearly hit in the head twice. Firstly, some dentures landed just in front of me then a walking stick went flying over my head.

Firstly, some dentures landed just in front of me then a walking stick went flying over my head. That's just so unnecessary. I mean, they're going to starve to death if they can't chew, and that's assuming that they can now walk to somewhere that sells food

Firstly, some dentures landed just in front of me then a walking stick went flying over my head. I saw a child in a Saints shirt hit full in the face by some bastards hearing aid, and am told some over exuberant thugs from Boscombe Athletic burst through a segregated area of the Northam before throwing zimmer frames at stewards.
Deppo Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 Did you know, an earthquake hit Bournemouth last night and caused 15 million zillion quids worth of improvements! LOL!
SuperMikey Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 They were definitely in good voice for most of the match, a lot better than most away fans that come to SMS. Shame that the violence marred the game afterwards.
OWTS Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 Did you know, an earthquake hit Bournemouth last night and caused 15 million zillion quids worth of improvements! LOL! That would be slightly comical, if Bournemouth was not a nice area and wasn't better than Southampton. But it is better and is a nicer area. As for the game, dominated the midfield and did them over. Didn't look too threatening going forward though. Bournemouth fans in good voice throughout the match.

georgeweahscousin Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 Anyone else heard about Lee Barnard being arrested for fighting with Bournemouth fans? Hopefully just rumour.
ChrisPY Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 Heard there was a fight. Didn't know he was arrested.
Big John Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 All joking aside some of the clashes yesterday were not very nice at all. I always avoid trouble hotspots but walking back through town cutting through behind the Bargate Centre yesterday after the game I caught the end of a fight between a male saints fan and a woman from bournemouth, it was pretty disturbing and I would have intervened had it not been for the fact that the woman was getting the better of the bloke. No-one else was around and I managed to catch the last few seconds on my old mobile phone. I don't know how to get it onto the computer though, if anyone can explain in idiot speak I'll put it on here later. BJ

Lighthouse Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 'a lot'. Two words, not one. You've overlooked his appalling use of "we're" when he means "were". A much more severe crime I'd have thought. Back on topic, I hope getting beaten up by some big nasty bullies didn't ruin their special day out.
Big John Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 i set up a you tube account, which it says it is 'uploaded' it to. what now?
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7oi4gcjark f'king lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
solentstars Posted 3 October, 2010 Posted 3 October, 2010 i walked up Britannia road with other saints fans and did not have or see any trouble with the bournemouth fans who were getting on to their coaches to go home.
