ericb Posted 3 October, 2010 Share Posted 3 October, 2010 i quite like the fact that ossie comes on here, same with the fan of any club really, since it's good to have a different perspective on things. I do however find it very embarrassing how bournemouth fans are trying to justify that they're a rival (in the derby sense) after yesterdays game. The litmus test is that despite the fact we were playing them i still heard not a single song about them. Plenty in response to them when they were trying to wind us up but as per usual it was the normal fare of songs about pompey. Now if it was a derby like the skates you'd not hear a single song about any other but them. As for the "trouble" from what i could tell it was very few bournemouth fans trying to get a reaction, the large majority were a really good bunch and there for a game that most haven't seen (in a league) in their lifetime. I did also think it was telling that the police were perfectly happy for fans of both sides to mingle, would you ever see that at a game between us and the blue few? Derby? No. But a good local game with a bit of feist to it as you'd expect.
benjii Posted 3 October, 2010 Share Posted 3 October, 2010 For the last time and for the benefit of our newest dinlo poster, when AFCB got promoted last year there were cheers at St Mary's; for as long as I've been going to Saints home matches an AFCB win being announced has been greated by cheers. There is no feeling there other than wanting to see our plucky near neighbours in their nice town that we like to visit occasional do well. Now, if you want to erode that by being nasty and bitter then fine but you're just throwing away goodwill, and for what? The chance of a "proper" derby in 50 years' time? Redbul Posted 3 October, 2010 Share Posted 3 October, 2010 Lee Barnard was nicked outside the Whitehouse at about 2am this morning, he glassed some nipper in the face. Barnard is still in custody hence the non comment from the club at the moment. Harding was also involved. I would add an 'allegedly' to this post a bit sharpish if I were you.... He's since probably been released on bail pending enqiries or released with charge, either way expect the club to make some comment tomorrow. Seeing as I'm "full of sh1t" I won't bother posting the full details of what happened. Read the fabricated bullsh1t in the echo instead. Daren W Posted 3 October, 2010 Share Posted 3 October, 2010 wow looks like it was your cup final and it went to your players heads? I dont think Ive ever seen a club, its city, its press and its fans so narked by a load of Bournemouth fans The amazing thing is that i went to your home game against Leeds last season and didnt see any of your welcoming committee waiting for the opposition up the road, In yates's or outside that shabby pub over the bridge on the way back to the station you were really up for it, what with your biggest crowd of the season and all Fiver says we getter bigger crowds than that this season... You're not that important and there will be bigger, more important games for us.... That said when you get about 8,000 fans at home it must really have appeared busy yesterday... As for our cup final? Had one last year, won it too...

You can go on and on and on about ref's decisions but if you like lets call it 2-1 and you got your penalty. Forget how Puncheon was thru on goal and the ref called it back and had he scored you would have collapsed as we were all over you. Your manager unbelievably took off your best midfielder Lol. Smith should have been sent off for his first tackle (it was a cowerds tackle, it was in front off me and you could see he only had one intent.I will say that Chaplows was not good either) Ps I really am in the know at your club as one of your top men is a long time friend, they were treated very respectfully by NC and were happy. Essruu Posted 4 October, 2010 Share Posted 4 October, 2010 Seems to have been some confusion over the trouble in the Northam. One of their yoof, 64 year old Ernest Watkins, had his tartan uni-slipper taken away by a steward as it had tripped one of their older lads, Cyril Potts (102). Cyril, sadly suffered a broken flask in the incident and got a bit upset. The 'throat slitting' signs were believed to have been a message to one of the more mobile members of their firm who was off to the concourse, 'no Bovril for Harry, he's just had a tracheotomy'. We spent 27 years in the top flight with a 15,000 seater ground punching waaay above our weight. You're punching above your weight even in this division. You got found out on Saturday and will no doubt be found out many more times this season.... 2) We have a history and some of the best names in English football. Keegan? Shearer? Channon?? Le Tissier? Paine? Worthington? What have you got? A club whose fans sang, "Que sera sera, what ever will be will be, we're going to St Marys, que sera sera..." when you got promoted... That is the extent of your ambition and you've been spanked twice.. and could still be playing now and not score... 3) You can't even list your top players, you just mouth off about history. This coming from a fan of an identikit football club, averaging 7,000 fans in a glorified training ground that cannot sustain a club as you dipsh1ts don't go that often... Now semi finals, losing finals, getting knocked out against no name teams in first round European games (you make it sound like you were in Europe every year ) doesnt count as history for any club that claims to have a history It just embarrassing..." we have a history you see ,we lost this trophy, made the semi's of that trophy and flopped in Europe" Tell us about the dell fellas.....the little old wreck of a place that at least kept you solvent, now tell us about St Fairies ? The ground that sent you down, poorly constructed by Barr, small seats and built on the cheapest shabbiest piece of land south of Watford. You have just had your biggest attendance of the season and wooo wooo a narrow victory and you think you are premiership bound. Exactly how much did Cortese spend during the summer....? I mean you arent exactly splashing the cash around now are you. Roll on next march, we will sit you in our mighty fourth stand and give you 10% of our capacity......hopefully it will rain Of course by then you will be 'storming the league' as one of your fans posted on our site, so I would hate to see the demand for tickets...you can always sit in the tree behind love u lots x ps.....
