Apparently a load of London 2012 Olympic volunteer stewards are getting 'work experience' today in the Chapel, should'nt they chuck 'em in at the deep end at the Northam;)

Not having experienced the critical analysis and general bon hommie of the Northam clientele I am unable to comment on the general approach to stewarding afforded by those worthies in that section of the ground, however, if it resembles that adopted by their colleagues in other sections then much is left to be desired.

Crowd control is not their finest point as any fan wishing to use the 'catering', or toilet facilities are left to their own devices and quite literally have force their way through the inconsiderate crowds to reach their intended destination while our erstwhile stewards are sitting on their a---s , keeping out of the way

The trainees should end up well instructed in the finer arts to practise on 'Johnny Foreigner' at the London Olympics.

I was told by one of the students that it was being used to prepare them for stewarding at the Olympics, just goes to show all kids are liars these days :-(

omg, are you for real????? are you not able to find your way to the well-signposted toilets by yourself?...can you not form a queue at the catering outlets and move forward and exit it when required without being directed how to do it?....how on earth do you cope when sat in traffic, without having anyone to tell you which way to go?....exactly how many stewards would you like the club to employ so that you (and 20,000 other people) can make it swiftly to and from your seat at half-time without having to bump into or go around other people....

haha....some people......:uhoh:

Not sure about Northam, where I sit in the Kingsland we que up if we want to use the toilets or catering facilities - thought this would have been more or less the same everywhere.

Well, I suggest that you volunteer for the London Olympics so that all those foreigners can understand that we too, in the UK, have peasants who have never left their village and have attitudes to match, and furthermore don't understand the international recognised symbols for toilets and bars. (Although how you are expected to help fairly aware foreign visitors escapes me..)..
