saint lard Posted 3 October, 2008 Posted 3 October, 2008 Well, another "live on Sky" match so the superstitious amongst you will have this down as loss. Me, i personally think we can come away with a point. If we can keep up the little amount of momentum we have built up over the last couple of games, things bode well.IMO. It will be interesting to see how the sides compare in formation, tactics, managerial nous, and style, as it was not long ago that Coleman was a firm favourite with many to take over the "hot seat" after Burley. I'll have us down for a 2-2. Come on Saints, lets push on before the international break, leave us for a couple of weeks in an optimistic mood.
St Marco Posted 3 October, 2008 Posted 3 October, 2008 Coventry are in a bit of freefall at the moment only winning once in their previous 8 games. I think they are there for the taking and now is the best possible time to play them. If the boys go in with the confidence they should have from the last 2 games i can see us winning it. It wont be easy but as long as KD stays in great form and our defence do ok i can see it being 1-2 to Saints. However as we know for some reason teams who are doing bad seem to do well against us and i have a feeling this could be one of those games. I worry a lot about our defence and the last 2 games i know if it was majority of the teams in this league they would of taken many of them. If you Give Eastwood or Morrison those chances they will bury them most of the time. So i think the Sky curse will continue and we could let in a few, i think it will be 3-1 Coventry. Hope they proove me wrong and don't buckle on TV.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 3 October, 2008 Posted 3 October, 2008 Hoping for at least a point, would be delighted with a win but not expecting us to win this one. 2-1 Coventry is my prediction, prove me wrong saints!
sad saints fan Posted 3 October, 2008 Posted 3 October, 2008 Fresh my correct prediction of a 2-0 win against Norwich I will continue in a positive vein, hard fought 1-0 victory
puff the magic dragon Posted 3 October, 2008 Posted 3 October, 2008 We've got lucky in our last two games, but our luck runs out. Coventry 2-0 Saints
saint boggy Posted 3 October, 2008 Posted 3 October, 2008 i'm going to plump for a very optimistic 4-3 to Saints (don't ask me why?????)
GAS Posted 3 October, 2008 Posted 3 October, 2008 i'm going to plump for a very optimistic 4-3 to Saints (don't ask me why?????) I'll agree with that.
Saint_Jonny Posted 3 October, 2008 Posted 3 October, 2008 0-0 till the 93rd minute, when McGoldrick pops up to steal it for the saints. 0-1 saints then!! COYR!
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 3 October, 2008 Posted 3 October, 2008 i'm going to plump for a very optimistic 4-3 to Saints (don't ask me why?????) We have had some surprisingly high scoring games against the Sky Blues over the years, was there an 8-0 (2)win (! am I right?) 4-4 draw etc. I think you're right with the margin, but I think it's going to be a 1-0 win after having to batten down the hatches for the best part of an hour.
SNSUN Posted 3 October, 2008 Posted 3 October, 2008 I honestly think Coventry could turn us over despite recent results, but I'm letting the heart rule the head for this one and will say 1-1. Happy with a draw.
saint boggy Posted 3 October, 2008 Posted 3 October, 2008 I'll agree with that. Are you agreeing with the score, or that it's very optimistic???
saintdorset Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Id take a draw now if you offered it to me, but I cant see anything but a loss. 2-0 Coventry, hope Im wrong, especially as my step dad is a cov fan. Id feel a bit more confident if we wernt on sky. The only times Id want to see us on TV would be in a cup final, play off final, Europe, or match of the day.
DT Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 cov 2 saints 1 we're on sky. they're due a win, and we're due a kd howler.
Professor Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Score predictions can best be classed as (1) guesswork, (2) wishful thinking or (3)fearful pessimism. The uncertainty of football kept the Pools Companies in business for many, many years. It is just sad that so many self-confessed Saints fans, posting on this thread are in the pessimist category. I was almost one myself recently, after the Blackpool and Barnsley games, but I have rediscovered the faith and I predict a WIN.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Coventry are in a bad streak, so what better time to meet us, especially as we regularly wilt in front of the sky cameras. 2-0 Coventry.
Langleysaint Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 2-1 to Coventry, they are due a win and those bloody Sky cameras are there.
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 I think it will be 2-2, us to concede in the in the final few minutes of the second half.
Shroppie Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Waiting to see the team. Sky say Svensson is back - not sure I'm totally behind that when we've just had 3 clean sheets. And who's going to start up front? I'll be happy with a draw.
alpine_saint Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Waiting to see the team. Sky say Svensson is back - not sure I'm totally behind that when we've just had 3 clean sheets. And who's going to start up front? I'll be happy with a draw. Killer should be on the bench. I am not all all in favour of disrupting a settling defence.
Shroppie Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Killer should be on the bench. I am not all all in favour of disrupting a settling defence. Agreed.
Painswick Saint Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Coventry 1 - Saints 1 However, as it is on Sky we will probaly get thrashed
ottery st mary Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Saints a big win on tv at last ' At least 3-0 to the Saints...prayers have commenced.
Ziggy Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Nil Nil. Cov can't score but have a good defence - or at least that's what my Cov supporting mate tells me!
Saint for ever Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 I'll be happy with a draw, but I think we could manage a win.
Toadhall Saint Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Killer should be on the bench. I am not all all in favour of disrupting a settling defence. Blimey Alps it's not often we've agreed but this and the score line. Killer won't be match fit IMHO
Rander Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Coventry are a better side than their results suggest, they have had seriously misfiring forwards. More than happy with a point.
Secret Site Agent Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 I reckon a 2-1 myself to us, with at least one goal coming from nowhere and being spectacular. And on Monday I will ring up that Jon Gaunt to gloat on the radio.
puff the magic dragon Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 I'm gonna change my prediction. Coventry 0 - 1 Saints

Leicestersaint Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 Notwithstanding the Sky curse, I am going for 2-1 to Saints.
Saint Johnno Posted 4 October, 2008 Posted 4 October, 2008 We are overdue a win on Sky...... so I'm going for a 2-1 win. Please don't disappoint
