Arizona Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 Before Chaplow, I can't think off all that many players who've played for Saints on two seperate spells. I think we released SKP as a nipper. Other than that... Ivan Golac...
Matthew Le God Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 How could you forget Mick Channon?
Arizona Posted 30 September, 2010 Author Posted 30 September, 2010 How could you forget Mick Channon? I was born in 1988.
trousers Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 Not quite fitting into the OP criteria but.....Jason Dodd
Legod Third Coming Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 I was born in 1988. Then you shouldn't even have internet access. Effing kids, you don't win nothing with them.
wightman35 Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 I can remember Don Rogers before he went to Arsenal as well as when he returned; just a bit overweight. I suppose that we were in Div 3 South then, but my memory is not that good.
VectisSaint Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 I can remember Don Rogers before he went to Arsenal as well as when he returned; just a bit overweight. I suppose that we were in Div 3 South then, but my memory is not that good. Looks like your memory has given up completely, are you sure you're on the right board? Manny Andruszewski made a brief return after his time in the US Iain Dowie - was an associate schoolboy and returned 8 years after he was released Jon Gittens - nuff said Pulis also returned, wonder if he will ever appear for Saints 1st XI
PaulSaint Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 Denise Wise Was she an annoying little sh|t like her husband?
SNSUN Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 Antti Niemi made it back to the south coast, took a wrong turning, and ended up fleecing Pompey out of half a million quid.
wightman35 Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 Looks like your memory has given up completely, are you sure you're on the right board? I am not that senile (yet) and I am sure that there was such a player a right winger who played for us and was sold to Arsenal. He returned and played for several years when I was still at School.
andybeal Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 Aaron Ready It's on the OS now. Don't remember Aaron Ready , what year did he play?
VectisSaint Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 I am not that senile (yet) and I am sure that there was such a player a right winger who played for us and was sold to Arsenal. He returned and played for several years when I was still at School. Still runs his Sports Shop down the road from the County Ground in Swindon. Best of my knowledge he never played for us. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Rogers_(footballer) Steve Williams nearly came back after we sold him to Arsenal, was given a trial by Branfoot but nothing materialised. What a waste of talent, was probably part of best midfield ever when paired with Bally.
beatlesaint Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 Did Ronnie Ekelund? No he didn't. Nobody has mentioned George Lawrence who came back from Oxford. Ivan Golac too.
MrMojoRisin Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 Going slightly off-topic SNSUN I am loving your avatar!
Lets B Avenue Posted 30 September, 2010 Posted 30 September, 2010 I can remember Don Rogers before he went to Arsenal as well as when he returned; just a bit overweight. I suppose that we were in Div 3 South then, but my memory is not that good. Aren't you thinking of Don Roper?
whizzpop Posted 1 October, 2010 Posted 1 October, 2010 Glen Hoddle? Oh no that's right he should have come back!
Turkish Posted 1 October, 2010 Posted 1 October, 2010 Seems to me that most of the players that came back were worse than when they left. Probably the only exceptions are Philips, Channon & Ball. Jon Gittens was a great bit of business, sold for £60k signed back for £600k.

explorer saint Posted 1 October, 2010 Posted 1 October, 2010 Don't remember Aaron Ready , what year did he play? You're getting confused with his brother Ever
Lets B Avenue Posted 1 October, 2010 Posted 1 October, 2010 Nearly right - you are thinking of Don Roper. Names are one of the first things to go... Followed by forgetting that someone else had posted the same 9 hours earlier. Aren't you thinking of Don Roper?
wightman35 Posted 1 October, 2010 Posted 1 October, 2010 Aren't you thinking of Don Roper? Yes, of course! Thanks to you LBA and the kind poster who reminded me that names were the first things to go.....your name was er? and why did I walk upstairs? Don Roper must have played in the late forties and the fifties.
sambosa75 Posted 1 October, 2010 Posted 1 October, 2010 I cant believe no-one has mentioned Kevin Davies yet......
ericofarabia Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 I cant believe no-one has mentioned Kevin Davies yet...... But he hasn't left, he is still our No 1 choice keeper
ericofarabia Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 Chris Nicholl .... although he came back as Manager, not a player.
Eastcowzer Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 I can remember Don Rogers before he went to Arsenal as well as when he returned; just a bit overweight. I suppose that we were in Div 3 South then, but my memory is not that good. Don Rogers only played for Swindon Town. Think you mean, Don Roper, God, your old if you remember him from 1956.
Kenilworthy Posted 2 October, 2010 Posted 2 October, 2010 Graham Baker - a fine midfield player who was effectively sacrificed in 82 so we could afford to sign Shilton and coming back in 87. I would suggest that Channon is the only one who came back a better player.
