Before Chaplow, I can't think off all that many players who've played for Saints on two seperate spells. I think we released SKP as a nipper. Other than that... Ivan Golac...

I can remember Don Rogers before he went to Arsenal as well as when he returned; just a bit overweight. :)

I suppose that we were in Div 3 South then, but my memory is not that good.

Looks like your memory has given up completely, are you sure you're on the right board?:p

Manny Andruszewski made a brief return after his time in the US

Iain Dowie - was an associate schoolboy and returned 8 years after he was released

Jon Gittens - nuff said

Pulis also returned, wonder if he will ever appear for Saints 1st XI :scared:

Antti Niemi made it back to the south coast, took a wrong turning, and ended up fleecing Pompey out of half a million quid.

I am not that senile (yet) and I am sure that there was such a player a right winger who played for us and was sold to Arsenal. He returned and played for several years when I was still at School.

Still runs his Sports Shop down the road from the County Ground in Swindon. Best of my knowledge he never played for us.

Steve Williams nearly came back after we sold him to Arsenal, was given a trial by Branfoot but nothing materialised. What a waste of talent, was probably part of best midfield ever when paired with Bally.

Aren't you thinking of Don Roper?

Seems to me that most of the players that came back were worse than when they left. Probably the only exceptions are Philips, Channon & Ball. Jon Gittens was a great bit of business, sold for £60k signed back for £600k.

Nearly right - you are thinking of Don Roper.

Names are one of the first things to go...

Yes, of course! :) Thanks to you LBA and the kind poster who reminded me that names were the first things to go.....your name was er?

Don Roper must have played in the late forties and the fifties.

Don Rogers only played for Swindon Town.

Think you mean, Don Roper, God, your old if you remember him from 1956.

Graham Baker - a fine midfield player who was effectively sacrificed in 82 so we could afford to sign Shilton and coming back in 87. I would suggest that Channon is the only one who came back a better player.
