stevegrant Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Sounded like plenty of pressure towards the end, but still probably two points dropped. A win on Saturday becomes that much more important, although if we'd been offered 4 points from the two away games beforehand, I expect we'd have been reasonably satisfied with it.
Liquidshokk Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Sounded like plenty of pressure towards the end, but still probably two points dropped. A win on Saturday becomes that much more important, although if we'd been offered 4 points from the two away games beforehand, I expect we'd have been reasonably satisfied with it. Makes me sick seeing bournemouth sitting in an automatic promotion place. The rivalry has at last been ignited in me. As for tonight, 2 points dropped... who gave away the penalty? hang them.
Amesbury Saint Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 4 points from 2 away games A goal from Guly and nearly got a second. Good return. Must now win the home games.
Colinjb Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 The only vague bright spot: Do Prado got off the mark. And that's it. Utterly f**king useless shower. 2 points thrown away. 2 Points slipped that would have helped propel us out of this miserable f**king league. Yes, I'm f**ked off.
Goalie66 Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Sounded as only Snerderlin was the only player up for it. Hammond anonymous again. !!!?
maysie Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Important couple of home games coming up which we need to win
trousers Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Sounded like plenty of pressure towards the end How could you tell? Not following the updates on here I assume....? ;-)
moon monkey Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 The players have got to sort themselves out. These results are not acceptable.
S-Clarke Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Pretty poor result IMO. We need to win these sort of games when we take the lead, our automatic promotion credentials are looking dead in the water.
Saint_Jonny Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 4 points from 2 away games A goal from Guly and nearly got a second. Good return. Must now win the home games. When you put it like this it sounds ok. But still... Yeovil. And seeing ballmouth at the top of the table with brighton is doing my head in, not because its ballmouth, but because we've spent the money, we've got the players and WE SHOULD BE UP THERE!! Hopefully a few more weeks and things will look more rosey.
alpine_saint Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Yeovil. Yeovil. Blimey. Yep, it was Yeovil. Truly f**king awful.
geoffnut Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Promotion is now out of the question. What a useless bunch of players, they continue to let their supporters down. Worse team that I have ever seen at Southampton.
buctootim Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 I thought the clairvoyants on here told us Guly was crap
Liquidshokk Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Pretty poor result IMO. We need to win these sort of games when we take the lead, our automatic promotion credentials are looking dead in the water. died ages ago as we wont miraculously improve adequately enough... its a lie that teams at the top arent running away with it... the lead is getting longer. listening to pompey taters boasting is making me sick. how are they even in existence. skate ****s
trousers Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 if we'd been offered 4 points from the two away games beforehand, I expect we'd have been reasonably satisfied with it. Given one of those two games was vs Sheffield Wednesday I tend to concur with that, although with the results reversed of course. I'm sure if we'd got a draw against Sheff Wed at the weekend and won tonight you'd get a much different perspective and reaction on our position than we'll inevitably see on here this evening.... Funny how the human mind works (or not as the case may be) :-)
stevegrant Posted 28 September, 2010 Author Posted 28 September, 2010 How could you tell? Not following the updates on here I assume....? ;-) I should just look at the database load stats to work out what's happening We're going to investigate moving the database onto a separate server - there are pros and cons to doing it, so we need to weigh it all up. The main "con" is the cost and the added complexity, but if it runs faster then ultimately it'll probably be worth it.
maysie Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Yep, it was Yeovil. Truly f**king awful. I understand what you are saying, but we don't have a god given right to win every game. 4 points from two away games is positive and an improvement (trust me I was at Swindon and Rochdale home). Saying all that it'll be a disaster if we don't get 6 points from the next two games.
alpine_saint Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Noiw more than 10 points off the lead..
explorer saint Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Christ even exeter beat yeovil what the ....is going on!!!!! Must win on saturday now
lutz Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 The players have got to sort themselves out. These results are not acceptable. Spot on.
Saints foreva Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Yeovil lost to Exeter at the weekend. Basically sums up how much of bad result this is. It isn't the sign of a team who want to get promoted this season. ****ing awful and we are now 11 points of Brighton I think, if we couldn't make that up last season we won't be doing it this season. I reckon Bournemouth will do us on Saturday.
Um Bongo Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Noiw more than 10 points off the lead.. So you keep telling us. Give over for **** sake.
Amesbury Saint Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Given one of those two games was vs Sheffield Wednesday I tend to concur with that, although with the results reversed of course. Funny how the human mind works (or not as the case may be) :-) Completely agree. I expected us to lose at SW and win tonight. Lets face it we are a L1 club with a big newish stadium.
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Promotion is now out of the question. What a useless bunch of players, they continue to let their supporters down. Worse team that I have ever seen at Southampton. Were you at the game?
alpine_saint Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 So you keep telling us. Give over for **** sake. I've done it twice. First time on the 2nd half thread, then here where it really belongs. Try not to get so hysterical.
trousers Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 People, If we'd drawn AWAY to Sheff Wed at the weekend and then won AWAY at Yeovil tonight (thus collecting the same net total of 4 points) would you be reacting in the same way tonight? No? Thought not.... ;-)
paris Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Nigel has his work cut out me thinks........;(( understatement i know...
Danny R Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Sounded like a good hard earned point and we could have nicked it at the end. I would have taken 5 points from the last 3 games with 1 conceded after our confidence looked shot at MK. Big game now on Saturday. COYS
Saint Without a Halo Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 4 points from 2 away games A goal from Guly and nearly got a second. Good return. Must now win the home games. But only 9 points from 9 games! 20% of the season gone and this is still relegation form! if we had 18 from 9 and had just taken 4 from 2 I would agree with you. The trouble is we keep dropping further and further off the pace!
Stu Man Do Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Disappointed more than anything. I thought we'd really kick on once we scored the first goal. Stupid penalty from the sounds of it possibly a case of the ref evening up the earlier one which was apparently nailed on. IMO it is dropped points but on the plus side it could have been worse, try being a Leeds fan tonight!
Liquidshokk Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 my disappointment will be prolonged when bournemouth stuff us on saturday. then I will throw up. fat ***t from bournemouth telling us to be scared about saturday.... think we should be. he'll always be fat though...
Didcot Saint Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Just not good enough. WTF is wrong with RL? The money we spent and so called better players we should be beating teams like Yeovil(with no disrespect to them btw).
Smirking_Saint Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 The only thing that annoys me more than drawing with f*cking Yoevil is changing my prediction league from 1-1 to 2-0
Saints Warrior Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Its a point but no where near last seasons ability to get 2-3 wins together. Looks like home games must be won now otherwise anywhere between 16-24 place will be all thats going to be achived. Not scoring enough goals to get us out of defensive errors will be costly.
B Rabbit Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 (edited) Unfortunately if we look at games like....well we got unexpected 3 at sheffield and 1 today..so that's good....we won't go anywhere...we got 3 at sheffield and should be thumping this lot and the same again on Saturday. There are very few games where we should not be expecting 3 points with the set up that we have. That isn't ignorance or blind faith..that is how it should be given the infrastructure and punching power that we have in this division. Unfortunately it's not panning out that way. 3 on Saturday will goa long way to helping and hopefully start us moving up a few places. We can't afford many more bad performaces, home or away where we pick up single points where we should be expecting nothing less than 3. Edited 28 September, 2010 by B Rabbit
Genk Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 If you can't beat Yeovil away then you have no right to win automatic promotion. I hate to say it but this current side is no way good enough for top two, we will be lucky to make the top six at this rate. Lallana is the only player that makes our team tick. Too many players putting in average performance's regularly, e.g. Hammond, Puncheon etc. Who knows what has happened to Rickie this season, perhaps when he gets one, many will come, we shall see but favourites for promotion.......... pppfff
Um Bongo Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 I've done it twice. First time on the 2nd half thread, then here where it really belongs. Try not to get so hysterical. Coming from you? LOL. Irony at it' s finest!
Didcot Saint Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 But only 9 points from 9 games! 20% of the season gone and this is still relegation form! if we had 18 from 9 and had just taken 4 from 2 I would agree with you. The trouble is we keep dropping further and further off the pace! spot on mate.

I would have taken 5 points from the last 3 games with 1 conceded after our confidence looked shot at MK. Big game now on Saturday. COYS Low and behold, a man of reason. Walking away from the Rochdale game I couldn't have been more depressed if I wanted to be, this is more positive.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Disappointed more than anything. I thought we'd really kick on once we scored the first goal. Stupid penalty from the sounds of it possibly a case of the ref evening up the earlier one which was apparently nailed on. IMO it is dropped points but on the plus side it could have been worse, try being a Leeds fan tonight! They are a divison above us and doing reasonably well for a promoted side in 10th! I would swap anytime! (plus they got to see a ten goal match, we can't hit a barn door with a banjo at the moment with the possible exception of Guly!)
stepf Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 People, If we'd drawn AWAY to Sheff Wed at the weekend and then won AWAY at Yeovil tonight (thus collecting the same net total of 4 points) would you be reacting in the same way tonight? No? Thought not.... ;-) Just because it's big club Sheff Wed it means **** all, our win against them was their 4th straight defeat, and they drew at home 0-0 vs Oldham tonight.... they're in terrible form.
Liquidshokk Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 anyone know who gave the penalty away??? they chucked it away for us and should be slammed.
buctootim Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Calm down girls. Unbeaten in three, six points off playoffs, 8 points off automatic, 111 points left to play for.
Professor Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 There's really no point in trying to be optimistic, or looking for bright spots. This team is NOT good enough and it hasn't been since pre-season.
S-Clarke Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 Calm down girls. Unbeaten in three, six points off playoffs, 8 points off automatic, 111 points left to play for. christ, that makes it look worse - sure it's only 111 points to play for? if we want auto promotion we can only realistically drop around 15-20 more points. That's going to be one hell of an effort from the position we're in.
Saint Without a Halo Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 There's really no point in trying to be optimistic, or looking for bright spots. This team is NOT good enough and it hasn't been since pre-season. Absolutely right! this team should be beating the likes of Yeovil and orient and it isn't!
trousers Posted 28 September, 2010 Posted 28 September, 2010 anyone know who gave the penalty away??? they chucked it away for us and should be slammed. Seabourne (according to BBC text commentary)
