scotty Posted 28 September, 2010 Share Posted 28 September, 2010 anybody here work at the docks? I was working on one of the cruise ships today and wondered if security had been stepped up for some reason. They were getting peoples shoes and belts off for scanning, which is unusual in my experience, its usually just put your hand luggage, mobile and keys through. As I understand it the Port works off the 3 stage ISPS code. Think current threat level is 1, the lowest. Could be that they have ramped up to Level 2 in view of the latest Al Quada and IRA terrorist threats but I think this is unlikley as it would have been evident from extra staff and checks at the Dock Gates Could have been because of a visit by the ISPS Inspectors who often audit port security. Who were you working for today?

Who were you working for today? It was the Saga Ruby at the city cruise terminal. Normally very quick through the security check there for contractors, particularly if they know you, but on this occasion it took ages.
