Thought the same today. Put the heating on and it is not kicking in..... sat in jumpers and a duvet over me. Great, but we are moving out in two weeks so sod it!!

My house is almost always warm and toasty. It just doesn't get that cold, unless in the depths of winter. I only need the heating on during parts of the day/evening from late November to early March, it's just that well insulated. I get those little letters from my utility company, telling me how I can be more efficient with my consumption. I'd sure like to see how they can reduce my heating bill when it is practically non-existent.

I know, I'll wrap the duvet around me during winter and then I won't burn any gas at all, apart from cooking. That'll make them happy.

We use the heating as little as possible, but even we put the heating on for an hour in the morning. Fat lot of good it does me though, as it goes on about 5am and I'm up at 3am for work.

The double duvet went on last night too. So much nicer imo, can't smell my girlfriend's farts as much.

Because of Mr TF's rotating shift pattern, it's actually cheaper for us to have the heating on all the time but control it with the thermostat.

However, the bedroom radiator has never been turned on in the 7 years we've lived here - even during the coldest part of the winter this year.

Our fuel bills are very low.

it has got f*cking cold, and my thermostat has switched on the heating. I'm wondering if its not just the sudden change that makes it feel worse than it actually is tho.
