marc_saint Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 Now that we've won again we're obviously going to go on an unbeaten run until the end of the season and walk this league! With that said firmly tongue in cheek, we do have a number of very winnable games between now and the start of November. Here's my predictions...... Yeovil away 3 points B'mouth home 3 points Tranmere home 3 points Huddersfield away 0 points Oldham home 3 points Notts County away 3 points Dagenham and Redbridge home 3 points six wins out of seven, 18 points out of 21. Top of the league by 2nd November!
1976_Child Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 2 points. I am used to aiming low and being pleasantly surprised.
egreog Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 More than 2 and less than 18......probably nearer 2 though!!

Top of the league by 2nd November! Calm down! One game at a time , will not mean to much if we don't get a positive result at Yeovil. COYS
SuperMikey Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 I think we'll beat Yeovil, Tranmere and Notts County, draw against Bournemouth and Oldham, and lose to Huddersfield. So, 11 points from a possible 18.

COYS Lol, note the "tongue in cheek" comment and the wink at the end! Just playing on how this board normally goes after winning a game.
benjii Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 From any 7 games, we should be aiming to pick up at least 14 points. That's the sort of form needed to guarantee automatic promotion. That's four wins, two draws and a defeat (or five wins and two defeats). We are certainly capable of achieving those results, particularly if we can start putting the chances away at home.
Leicestersaint Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 We're Saints - predictions are pointless (as are many of our home games).
Dalek2003 Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 Quite frankly after the start we have had i am just going to think about each game in turn. Don't want to start thinking ahead like we all dared to do in the summer and have then my hopes dashed again !
benjii Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 We're only 5 points off the play-offs FFS! 6th place is the bare minimum anyone should expect.
JustMike Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 still need to look at 1 or 2 loans but i am expected at least 10 points from the next 4 games
Miltonaggro Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 If we could win the next two it's a back on track and target with arguably a stronger team spirit. After all the recent angst and bollo that would be lovely...
Matthew Le God Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 From any 7 games, we should be aiming to pick up at least 14 points. That's the sort of form needed to guarantee automatic promotion. Needs to be slightly more than that as an average I reckon due to the already poor start taking up 8 of the 46 games.

Yeah, well we'd have 84 points which is sometimes enough for second and sometimes isn't. Either way, averaging two points per game for the next couple of months would give us an excellent platform and over the season from here on in would certainly see us in the upper reaches of the play-off positions.
del boy Posted 25 September, 2010 Posted 25 September, 2010 at the end of the day, tbf, we should take every game as it comes

Looks like my prediction of just over a month ago wasn't too far away from being right. With just the Daganham game to go, the only incorrect prediction was the Yeovil one. Come on Saints!!!
SaintDan Posted 30 October, 2010 Posted 30 October, 2010 Carlisle away is a big game, if we can win that then it wil put us in high confidence going into two home games that if won will put us comfortably in the automatic promotion places.
Justin C Posted 30 October, 2010 Posted 30 October, 2010 No one like a smart Alex but lets hope you are right.

CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 30 October, 2010 Posted 30 October, 2010 No one likes a smart Alex but lets hope you are right. On the contrary, we all like Smart Alex - as soon as he comes on we start scoring.
