having one tonight and not having lived there for 20 odd years I am a bit out of touch with the local gastronomic scene.

Sunrise is OK but mundane. Better to take away from Jalalabad - cooked in front of you and good guys.

Yeah, a good critique of Sunrise, and the only option I think unless the one in the precinct is still going.

The phal from the Sunrise is palatable.

Yeh I can vouch that Sunrise cook up a good curry. Lamb Madras is rather tasty but a bit too on the mild side for me. I usually opt for 'Touch of Spice' in Fair Oak though... Talking of which, I did so tonight. And it was splendid. Lamb Madras, Lemon Rice, Peshwari Naan and Onion Bhaji's. Yum Yum Yum.
