Barry the Badger Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/snooker/9016342.stm Unbelievable. Stops on just 9 points to ask what the prize is for a 147, and then tries to stop on 140 as there is no prize. Like him or not, it's never boring when Ronnie is playing. Trader Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 Arrogant tosser Should be made to do a week down a coal mine, or collect trollies in the middle of winter for a week in a supermarket car park on their sort of money. Maybe then he'd stop moaning about "only" making 4 grand for 10 minutes "work" ****-poor attitude - c*nt.
trousers Posted 20 September, 2010 Share Posted 20 September, 2010 Great player. Same sportsman mould as Higgins, best, botham. Love the way he winds up 'the establishment'. Keep rockin' Ronnie :-)
sambosa75 Posted 21 September, 2010 Share Posted 21 September, 2010 Sublimely gifted and probably the closest thing you'll get to a genius in snooker. I just hate the whole "tortured soul" thing he's got going on. He plays snooker for a living and gets paid handsomely for it. Man up and pot the ****ing balls you to$$er. Keep rockin' Ronnie :-) So do I. Just wish he was more consistent on the table though. No doubting the man's talent, if it wasn't for his head he could have beaten Hendry's 7 world titles. Problem he doesn't have the motivation to do it

I do agree to a certain extent, but at the same time he's clearly got some 'issues' and in that respect is no different to any other person. Opens up a whole different argument to be fair. Should these highly paid people just be grateful for what they have or does he have a right to be annoyed that there are now less bonuses for maximum breaks? Problem he doesn't have the motivation to do it The 147 that this post is refering to would have (and eventually did) taken Ronnie past Hendry's world record number of 147's. He couldnt even be bothered to brake it.... class
Hatch Posted 22 September, 2010 Share Posted 22 September, 2010 it says in the paper today that he has done this before. In a match against Watanna.
Jimmy_D Posted 22 September, 2010 Share Posted 22 September, 2010 He comes across as arrogant, with a poor attitude, but there's obviously some sort of issue there causing that. He's a genius with the cue in hand, he was pretty much the entire reason I started watching snooker, which dragged me in to watching other players as well and getting me interested enough to recognise the tactics involved as well as the skill... and then I was hooked. I'm not the only one like this and there wouldn't be nearly the same interest (or money!) in the game without him.
keithd Posted 22 September, 2010 Share Posted 22 September, 2010 i believe he is bored with the game isnt he? wants it jazzed up in the way Darts has completely turned around from a fat blokes game played in smokey pubs and clubs to one being played in front of ten of thousands of punters by fat blokes and having a ball at the same time i think he's great, he is the only one capable of getting a thread about snooker started and i cant blame him for being bored when he has all that talent in a pretty dull game

What an ungrateful attitude to those who buy tickets, sponsor competitions etc if someone just turns their nose up in public to the prize money like that. His great talent is wasted on him unfortunately.
