Lennons or other Indie Clubs in centre of Southampton

I am down in Southampton on Saturday October 2nd for the Bournemouth game and it is also my wifes birthday so we are going out for a meal.

 

As we are both into our Indie music and used to go to Lennons on Onslow road every Saturday I was wondering if this club was still open and it if still has Indie night on Sat night. Used to have bands sometimes in the days of Dead Dead Dead!

 

If not does anyone know if there are Indie nights at any other clubs in Southampton centre?

Still open. Other than that, there are still things on at the Dorchester, and hammy does his thing at the Soul Cellar now.

Yes Saturday night is Indie Night still, but is also band night which gets a little boring if the band is rubbish and often results in it being quite empty. We usually only go there on a Friday night and go to a place called Unit on Saturdays, which is a reincarnation of Unit 22 that used to be by Dock gate 4 and I think is a sister venue of the joiners. It's pretty good, has an upstairs and a downstairs, the upstairs being more Indie than down. It gets pretty packed in there but is a pretty good night. The music can be a little bit emo sometimes but there's always songs you know. It costs £4 for students and maybe £5 for non-students but not exactly sure.
