Big John Posted 16 September, 2010 Share Posted 16 September, 2010 ..also included is The wagon Works, eastleigh...!!! I have a soft spot for Wetherspoons, but The Wagon Works? Tried them 3 times and without exception, uncleared tables, missing items on menu (only told when serving others meals), disgusting language from other customers (not addressed by staff) and bacteria infested sticky tables (each visit). although i like my ales, one does have to wonder at the cleanliness of the cellar when they can't even wipe a table down. Re the Guide Dog, fair play to them, a good bunch who make you welcome with minimum effort, the kind of welcome that cannot be learnt out of a big brewery text book. EIGHT pumps! St Landrew Posted 17 September, 2010 Share Posted 17 September, 2010 Blimey, The Guide Dog must have changed hands then, since I last went in there. Mind you, that was a fair few years ago.
Durleyfos Posted 17 September, 2010 Share Posted 17 September, 2010 Note to self: Avoid the Guide Dog. It will be full of beardy types drinking ditch water and talking about Morris Dancing.
Robsk II Posted 17 September, 2010 Share Posted 17 September, 2010 It is down the road from my old place. Been in there a few times; did some decent pints but it is inclined to be filled with a few weirdos, and it smells funny. Possibly that's the weirdos. TopGun Posted 17 September, 2010 Share Posted 17 September, 2010 Not been in for years but was a regular there in the early 1990s. Good memories.
ericofarabia Posted 17 September, 2010 Share Posted 17 September, 2010 That has been my pre match watering hole when back, for the last few years .... and I'm not beardy or smelly .... but I'll give you the weirdo bit
Robsk II Posted 17 September, 2010 Share Posted 17 September, 2010 Belgrave, you're quite right. I smell lovely, and I was in there, so who knows? I think it just takes a couple of weirdos to stink up the joint.
La BoIS Saint Posted 22 September, 2010 Share Posted 22 September, 2010 Brilliant pub. Full of Saints before games and a genuine friendly local.
