70's Mike Posted 16 September, 2010 Posted 16 September, 2010 whilst i have a lot of sympathy and impathy with the OP, I have also got used to being treated as a mushroom by SFC. I will still go to games ,but have to be honest and say the various issues pre season and AP;s sacking have whittled away by enthuasism

Fowllyd Posted 16 September, 2010 Posted 16 September, 2010 I will join your boycott (but not for your reasons) although my boycott will be selective and sporadic. To clarify I will be making no special effort to attend games because our players don't deserve any support at the minute. So, let's see now. You'll be going to some games and not to other games. Have you checked the word 'boycott' in your dictionary lately?
Tom8558 Posted 16 September, 2010 Posted 16 September, 2010 The silence from both AP and the club is to protect both of them. My guess is that the club did not have grounds for dismissal on grounds of gross misconduct, but that there were circumstances that meant that from the clubs perspective AP had to go. Nothing to do with results. Any sacking would have meant that the club had to pay up his contract. AP didn't want the facts made public, so they negotiated a compromise agreement. This meant that the cost to the club of getting rid of AP was reduced, but the price was not revealing the reasons for his departure. We won't ever know the details. AP brought some stability to the club after the shambles of the Summer of 2009, but there was clearly something not quite right. Time to move on. Hopefully NA can move the club forward. It would be nice to have a manager that lasted more than a season.

Evil Monkey Posted 16 September, 2010 Posted 16 September, 2010 I'm going to boycott every game that I cant, or dont want to go to. This action will continue upto, and beyond a good run of form.
Deppo Posted 16 September, 2010 Posted 16 September, 2010 I'm not suggesting anyone else does this, but I have severe misgivings about the Pardew sacking. I believe we would have a better record over the 4 games since than we have had, for sure. So, with this in mind, I will not be present at any games, will not purchase any merchandise and will cut down my use of anything Saints until I receive a satisfactory explanation as to Pardew sacking. And I don't mean the classic 'he had to go', I want a fully ratified reason. Until then there will only be 1 scapegoat for what could be a dire season and that will be Nicola. Mr Cortese it is your prerogative to ensure this doesn't happen. The onus is on you unless you want to be villified by a large section of our fanbase. Good on you. I think that you need to commit to the boycott for at least two seasons, to show them that you mean business.
RonManager Posted 17 September, 2010 Posted 17 September, 2010 What boycott ? Geoffrey - we all think he's reet grand our kid.
Jez Posted 18 September, 2010 Posted 18 September, 2010 We're still non the wiser as to why WGS left are we? We were told personal reasons, who knows...... Now that is an interesting one if you're privvy to the info I am on this one... So before you knew why WGS left, did you boycott St Marys? Until you managed to find out from some unofficial source, then I presume you came back to St Marys. So now you are gonna boycott Saints forever (or until you change your mind as you have clearly done since your posts last year) or until somehow you find out what happened to Pardew. So either way, it's a temporary boycott. And not a very good one, as I thought you were boycotting everything saints related, yet you're still posting on here. As others have said too, I prefer the old DPS too, though I've mainly lurked, as yours used to be some of the better stuff I read on here.

I think in all fairness , NC does not have to explain any thing . There could be a 100 reasons why AP went and who knows if there are any legal proceedings / employment tribunal surrounding this. It does make me laugh that people aspect an explanation from a company , the only person NC has to explain himself to is the Liebheers , who may have insisted NC got shot of AP.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 18 September, 2010 Posted 18 September, 2010 I understand the frustration. The never-ending churn of managers...the unfulfilled expectations, season after season (except last season, which was actually pretty good in comparison). We'll never really know the reasons why - they could be more complex than we think. Trouble is, boycotting at this time is going to do what? It's going to reduce the income to the club sure, but if many did it there would be less support for the team (assuming you make a noise) and that would potentially enhance the adverse results. Boycotting is a lose-lose strategy right now IMO.

Stoozer Posted 18 September, 2010 Posted 18 September, 2010 You have no right to know why he was sacked. Get over yourself and support your football club.

Until we start to do well again, get to another cup final, need to win to get promoted, need to win to survive, get back to the championship, get back to the premiership. Just like the 10,000 or so.

Norm Posted 18 September, 2010 Posted 18 September, 2010 Give the bloke a break FFS! He is just frustrated at how things have gone belly up so far. Things will turn, for the better. We need all the fans we can muster for the push towards the CCC.
IFHP Posted 18 September, 2010 Posted 18 September, 2010 Give the bloke a break FFS!. Why? He aint giving NC a "break" is he.

We need all the fans we can muster for the push towards the CCC. I'm fed up too Norm but I won't give up on them because they need everyones support right now. When we are **** I cheer louder, when we are good it makes my life easier as I'm such a happy person to be around. I'm off today and I know for a fact we will lose but I know that the good times will come back again.
