What a load of bowlocks - this team has completely been ruined by something or other. Surely Lallana is not the glue that held the side together??? FFS.

Think you will find pardew was the glue... Just seems to be he got sacked we go into meltdown, and we as fans are still no wiser to why he was sacked.

Is it me or has every game this seson been "its only a matter of time b4 southampton score" and then we f*king concede a goal and end up losing.

Tonight every time they went to the SSN guy, we appeared to be dominating, until we went behind

Didn't think Saints would win but hoped for a draw!!........Very disappointing,,,the new manager "bounce" simply never seems to work for Saints............and without scoring a goal yet again...........God this is awful!!

Abysmal. Promotion season totally destroyed and we're the only club that is capable of doing that.

Funny how we abide by all the traditional curses when we lose to Plymouth (Sky, opening day of the season, new manager, bogey club etc etc) - and yet when its our turn to be on the winning side of a few traditional curses (new manager, bogey club...) we go and farkin LOSE.

Last post of the day for me.

The following need to be "rested" (i.e. we've got alternatives):

Kelvin Davis

Dean Hammond

Sir Rickie Lambert

The following need a good kick up the arse (they can, and want to, do better):

Morgan Schneiderlin

Jose Fonte

and the following need to find a new club (my wife could do better):

Jason Puncheon

David Connolly

but I haven't got a diploma in Sports Psychology, so what do I know?

Why does it always go wrong for us? we're obviously not going to go up are we? everything is conspiring against us. Not just small things either, we've lost our owner, our manager, our best player to an injury for 2 months, lambert is injured and unfit, barnard was suspended for 3 games...oh and we've lost 4 games in a row.

I'm so depressed and deflated after looking forward to this season more than any other. We kept the bloody team together which everyone feared we wouldn't, we spent a big sum on a pre-season abroad and everything was set. On the eve of the plymouth game i was so excited...now i'm struggling to be bothered to go to saturdays game.

IMO Lambert needs to get out of the team and get fit, don't care how long it takes him. Get a loan player in to replace him because he's hindering us at the moment, when he's fit everything goes through him - when he struggles, we're a non-team.

Pretty much 90% of our play went through Lambert last season and over 60% of our goals were down to him. He's not lambert at the moment, whether it's fitness, injury, or another reason - but i'm a massive fan of him, and he has been our worst player so far.

Adkins will do very well to get us promoted IMO, this is just like a nightmare.

now they're are talking about 'giving NA 3 years because he had a 3 yr contract' Well FFS that is what pardew had, and this time last season Dave M was saying the same thing!

Puncheon should play rugby the way he shoots.

Jeeezzz. How the hell can it get so bad so quickly FFS? Incredibly bad performances and there is no way anyone can call our team the best in L1 now...

Could be loads of reasons; personally I think NC has lost interest...stated a while ago that he was only at Saints because he loved working with ML; well that's sadly no longer the case; you can always sound interested by trotting out a few well written press releases but I don't think his heart is in it any more. This is going to be a painful season for all. Best of luck to Adkins, you're going to need it.

Ted McDougall and Phil Boyer ?

Thinking of those two made me smile with sweet memories!

Back to 2010, I think NA can turn things around. I'm looking forward to Saturday as the start to our season.

Will happily bet you 50 pounds that we do. Form is temporary, anyone thinking we need a new team is a little silly.

what odds? btw 'form' is not temporary, it is present. And at present the form is utter turd.

I feel that the team is missing not only Papa and Antonio, but also Wayne Thomas, Lloyd James, Chris Perry and even Simon Gillet, none of these in my eyes have been replaced, apart from perhaps Frazer Richardson who may have a presence - but it may be too late by then.

+1 except for that last remark about a diploma.

and i think you'll find we were getting poor results under him too and suffered not having enough back up to the likes of lallana.

to be fair, we have exactly the sort of form most of you deserve

care to expand on this? I spend over £1,000 per year on tickets and travel per season, £300 on hotels and a lot of emotional capital too. So what do I deserve, exactly?

Fed up of this club if I am honest, and this poor run will cost us come May.

I've never got that despondent but I feel you're pain. I am just really starting to feel so frustrated but the eternal optimist in me tells me we will turn it round. May be too late for a promotion push now, but there's always an FA Cup run!!!!

What a s*** bench, and therein lies one of the problems.

We've been bad before and we'll be bad again. It just hurts because 1) We didn't expect this and 2) Everyone else is laughing at us.

Whatever you may think of the AP situation, the clear fact is that something is not right in the club. The new man will not sort that out in 2 days, maybe not in 2 weeks.

The best players in the league last year don't go off for no reason.

Perhaps this is a good result as it will show Adkins where the problems lie and he can put his pre-match words into effect and bring in the players to shake this sorry shower of sh!te up.

Still, one good thing about tonight. Camel Toes were enjoyable.

Bad thing is they don't work. Playboy Playmates of the mont Saturday maybe?

Posted

Didn't the players pick up on the "win it for Markus" concept?

Let's hope NA gets it right - can't blame him for tonight, he's only been here 2 days. Now he's seen the reality, rather than the showy stuff on the training ground, I hope he has a good idea about turning the performances around.

While I think automatic promotion is probably a long shot now, I still think we can make the top 6.

It's going to be hard, the playoffs are a lottery. I dreaded the thought of them, now to think this could possibly be the best we get is ****ing awful. If we fail to go up this year we'll have to start all over again and we'll never replace Lallana with someone of the same ability.
