L Mac and MLT on form last night

Always liked Osman as the tannoy bloke. Never understood why people slated him so much.

Cos tossers like m i nge love destructive Chairmen & don't like anyone criticising them. They find it easier on their fragile ego to live in delusion & attack any anti-chairmen opinion by burying their heads firmly up the CE's bottom!! It's quieter up there!! LOL

Nice to know the witch hunt for Pardew & rumours emanating from London had no basis, if I'm allowed to use my judgement & opinion. Even I thought some had substance, I apologise. Look at the facts, 4-0 away, squad improving. Entire back room staff removed, huge slump.

This is looking more & more like the Lowe tenure. Moron thinking he knows better. What is it with Saints & feckin trusted advisors who have achieved the square root of f*ck all themselves?! There's a reason for that...FFS

Let's hope Nicola's new "YES MAN" gets off to a good start against a team we beat repeatedly last season (4 times?). I'm worried about players moving come Jan. Must admit.

Good to hear that the big man is getting some charitable donations and hopefully recieving the help he needs.

Still, a good OP spoiled by more of the now getting boring FF boll*cks of i know stuff you don't. Has any of his anti-NC stuff actually come true yet ? If you know stuff that your not going to share, don't bother mentioning it, end of story.

Too many hangers on getting their knickers in a twist that they are no longer party to idle gossip, there was too many noises coming out of the old regime and that had to spot, i bet everyone and his mother heard snippets etc during the Lowe days, most of us have got over it now.

You really are an objectionable prat. Mike Osman gives an enormous amount of his time to charitable causes and doesn't charge a dime. He is doing an event in aid of the Oakhaven Hospice on Friday that's the second charity event he's done this week. Mike Osman is a decent man and I for one think some of the snidy remarks from a few no marks reflect more on them for their bigotry and stupidity than Mike Osman.

Well said Derry, I went last night and Mike Osman was hilarious. Indeed MLT LM and Mike Osman all deserve huge credit for giving up their time for free to help someone. Kevin Moore was a true pro and played his heart out for Saints. It is so sad for him and his family that he is now suffering from this illness.

There are too many morons on here who seemed not able to understand the good work that people do for others.

whilst you are right with this..

where is the difference to what manji is saying and the allowed Cortese slagging on here..?

Was thinking about this on the way to work this morning TDD.

"What's said in otterbourne should stay in Otterbourne between these 4 walls", why? If there was something said about Cortese or the current owners of Saints why not out it in public much as Manji has??? Manji said they were free loaders, how bad can what they said be if they don't want it disseminated?

I've no gripe against Osman or LMac, but at least Manji puts it in the public arena. Something the speakers at the event didnt want to do.

There's two separate issues at play here.

1. FF seems to have an agenda against the club and by putting accross his "i know something you don't know but i'll hint it's anti cortese" point it's another seed cast in his campaign to cast as many seeds as possible to propogate anti Cortese feeling.

2. Mangey is a Lowe Luvvie and he still has an axe to grind with anyone that opposed his dearest Rupert.

Seems about right to me.

Whilst I have been accused of being a luvvie in the past for daring to think Lowe wasnt the anti christ, I will also be one of the many that out number Mingy in his quest to support the Lowe one.

.

For me the best story was the lads saying about the text from nicola to pards 4 minutes after the 4:0 win

It read

Why did you only play prado for 5 minutes.

Then a row occurred and he was sacked.

But this is only hear say, and rumour, no one has seen this text message have they????

I wish Kevin and his family the very best for the future.

I have met all the various players mentioned and have a great deal of

respect and admiration for all the hard work that they put in for many good causes.

Sir Lawrie Macm Mike Osman and MLT thank you one and all....

I have had the pleasure of meeting Mike Osman on several occasions. Not only a very funny man but

so down to earth.....As for the others many.... thanks for all your hard work and time given for charitable causes.

The point is, these three gentleman are not only great Saints supporters, they are wonderful human beings who have

given a great deal back to others.. They are also entitlrd to their opinion..Like many of us not always right

but wanting the best for Southampton Football Club..

Like me and many others they are very concerned with what is going on at our great football club..

Let us hope we all come through this and enjoy the better times ahead..

Personally I am still very concerned With our Director Sir Less...One big mistake King Nic...Hope our Nige can bat him off..

Come on you Saints

To try and clarify my position on a few things:

Charity work that the guys do is awesome

LM the best manger Southampton has ever had.A very young manji attended 76 FA Cup Final. Can you remember where you were when Keegan signed etc etc.

Obviously MLT our best player

Mike Osman not my favorite comedian (yes I have witnessed him live.....before the games the other season) sorry.

What I dont like is the destabilising comments from the sidelines. There are countless examples , a recent one MLT on Talksport saying any manager who joined Saints under the current leadership is mad.

Was a very worthy charity event the right place to make further comments ?

Please guys stay away from the politics....

Errrr, cos it's a freakin' forum doofus! Makes me laugh when people peddle that line. FFS LOL

Got ready for this season? Really? If, as it SEEMS (heard it enough last season) Cortese was looking for anything to remove Pardew, why not do it close season rather than feckin' up this season as he's evidently done. Doesn't take Jonny Ball to realise if we're serious about promotion, we can't keep dropping points. May as well be -10 judging by performances! It's s handicap.

Cortese & Markus did well last season with funds. New season, different prospect & a much lighter squad lacking firepower (as evident) & we've only signed defenders & an unknown load many attribute to Cortese.

I am not a regular poster and I certainly will never get involved in personal criticism BUT I have to say that I agree with saintjay. I would love to know what MLT and Lawrie really think about our club so somebody saying that they know but their not telling is pretty irritating. So no more teasing please.

Kevin is not really in "a good place" right now but he has a loving family and last night proved many people care about him still.

excuse my ignorance but what's up with Kevin? great player, great memories from my early days as a saints fan

This is from the information on Otterbourne FC website: Kevin is now seriously ill with Frontotemporal Dementia (also known as ‘Picks’ disease), which is similar in its debilitating effects to Alzheimer’s, but it attacks its victims at a much younger age.

Since diagnosis Kevin’s condition has deteriorated and now in his early 50’s he is in need of around the clock care and supervision.

Very, very, sad......

Mate of mine playing golf with MLT today at Remedy Oaks after winning an auction......MLT phones him yesterday to make sure he didn't mind if Franny Benali joined them!

That's all well and good but if I were you I'd be asking my mate why the hell he didn't tell Matt, "yep, that's fine as long as Saint_Stevo can join us ! "

Le Tiss on Talksport.

Unfortunately when you see that our manager gets a 4-0 win away at Bristol Rovers then gets the sack a couple of days later.

“What kind of chairman are you going to be working for? I wouldn’t be in too much of a rush to go and work for that chairman if I was them.”

Mike Osman gave up a day free of charge on Friday for a golf day in aid of the Oakhaven Hospice. Although I know Mike quite well I saw the real Mike Osman on Friday night. Mike was going to run the fundraising, draw and auction plus a bit of comedy but things didn't go according to plan. The son and daughter of the person whose anniversary it was, were going to do the prize giving after a thankyou, in the midst of which the lad understandably broke down in tears. Before anybody else had a chance to move, Mike got up and put his arm around the lad's shoulder and told him it was no problem. led him to his seat saying that he would do the raffle and when he felt better the boy could carry on with the prize giving. Mike put on an absolutely marvellous performance which ended up with the lad coming back with a smile on his face and doing the prizegiving.

For anybody to criticize Mike Osman calling him a free loader and a parasite is totally out of order. This year alone Mike, LM and MLT plus others have given their time willingly for many charitable events totally free. Without them the events couldn't have happened and if they did certainly wouldn't have raised the thousands of pounds for causes such as helping to fund the care for Kevin Moore and Oakhaven Hospice.

I can agree with every thing Derry said as I was there the lad was in tears. The funniest site of the night was when Mike got a skate to part with £22 for a box of Liquorice All Sorts making him believe he was bidding against a Saints fan when in reality the Saints fan has stopped bidding after a quid, pure quality.

Problem is that people don't want their petty blinkered agendas ruined by facts. Mike Osman is a top man, a really nice guy who gives a lot of time to charity. More than can be said of many of his detractors...

I'd much rather spend my time in his company than all of the snide, sniping, miserable, sh1tbags who have a pop at him put together...

I occasionally come across LM and MLT at charity functions and dinners and always enjoy their company and respect their comments.

However I believe they both expect more recognition from Cortese than he is prepared to give. When ML and NC bought the debt of the club they clearly wished to start with a clean slate, including establishing a respectable and businesslike approach not always evident in football.

I would say this is why AP has gone, as he has stepped outside of their acceptable standards of behaviour.

As the man NC himself said - "Have you ever heard of a chairman sacking a manager on a Monday morning after a 4-0 away win?"

I personally find it unfair that old favourites undermine the current set up and their businesslike approach when no one else came up with the funds to rescue our club.

I don't see why recognition of Saints former glories and heroes, compared with the businesslike approach should be mutually exclusive.

I am sure NC and ML were aware of the clubs history and it is something they should embrace etc.Whether that recognition is as much as perhaps individuals may expect is of course another matter.

Not sure about LM undermining the current set up,but you can't blame Lawrie for speaking to the Echo about AP's future when asked.Perhaps a little more openness and communication from the club on that topic earlier might have prevented the media hysteria last May.

From what I understand, NC didn't want LM as a salaried 'ambassador' if he is being paid more than he is bringing in through marketing / match day hospitality.

This is probably where the bad feeling has arisen. Business v sentimentality

TBF paying anyone more than they bring in to a business is not going to be helpful. But going by the way news has been delivered from the club so far I guess L Mac would have taken exception to how he was told more than what he might have been told.

All guess work though and doubt we will know what any truths will be even if we have already been told the truth.

And, to be fair, just about everyone of us who has listened to or watched a Saints match in the past year has questioned AP's substitutions being done very late in a game.

You are winning at a canter against a team that were not playing well on the day, you have a new signing on the bench and he gets 5 minutes?

Sorry, but if I was a fan who had AP's number I think I would have bloody well sent him a text. Especially as it was clear at half time that Lallana had broken down with an injury that just about the whole club knew about and we would need cover in the coming weeks.

But of course, a boss isn't allowed to ask his employee any questions about his performance is he, and the text is clearly evidence of interference in playing affairs. Well, if NC was interfering in affairs and AP did not like it then for AP's own career he would have been FAR better served turning on his heel and walking straight out the door.

The point is valid about interference, BUT the bigger issue is that I am pretty certain IMHO allegedly that there are people out there who will know LM, MLT & the others who have an axe to grind and who wish the current set up harm. These continuing sly nudges and subtle digs do nothing but to continue the bad old days.

I for one don't like NC, but the more these digs continue, the more I am losing respect for a lot of people who are being naively played by some very nasty bitter people

I loved MLT the player like I've never loved another Saint, he was magic and when he did the lap of honour at the end of his Testimonial I shed a tear and wanted to see him play even if just one more time, but since then, oh dear, after the fiasco with that guy who was all talk and no money that delayed the Liebherr take-over he should be thankful the club was rescued, bad mouthing the rescuer is very strange so is the admission in his book that he was spot-fixing or whatever its called in Premiership football. All hell is let loose on cricketers for doing that.

Whats wrong with these people giving their opinions ! You lot do on here so stop being so twofaced.

Nothing wrong with an opinion of course, and for the record I have great respect for all these people.

But there is a difference in giving a constructive opinion, or an opinion which might be regarded as destructive or has the potential to undermine the current club leadership, at a time when most fans appear not to want such undermining words placed in public !

They serve no great purpose at a time when we need to rally together and drive forward!

If these words/soundbites result in Cortese calling it a day and the Liebher Family withdrawing their patronage of the club, we face the summer of 2009 all over again.

Now what would you want ? Do you know of equally affluent and benevolent potential owners out there that could fill this void ??
