Gemmel Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Doesn't mean he is going to sign but my son saw him in Southampton today. Any doubts that it wasn't him, soon erased by his number plate. Decent Winger
saint_bert Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Is he not more of a central midfielder?
Window Cleaner Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Is he not more of a central midfielder? left winger
Saint Fan CaM Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Would be too good to be true IMO (if he's fit that is).
S-Clarke Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 No chance of getting him at this level, I'd imagine he's pretty likely to go to the skates.
shurlock Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Isnt he on loan to Derby - if so, he isn't in tonight's starting line-up
Gemmel Posted 14 September, 2010 Author Posted 14 September, 2010 No chance of getting him at this level, I'd imagine he's pretty likely to go to the skates. They can't have any more Stoke players on loan
Window Cleaner Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Isnt he on loan to Derby - if so, he isn't in tonight's starting line-up don't think he's at Derby now, back at Stoke
S-Clarke Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Isnt he on loan to Derby - if so, he isn't in tonight's starting line-up he was last season, but they couldn't afford to make it permanent
S-Clarke Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 They can't have any more Stoke players on loan good point, but i still don't think that would stop them looking for ''special dispensation'' !
Colinjb Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Would be a good addition To put it mildly!
Huntingdon Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 He is included in Stoke's 25 man squad, so isn't completely surplus to requirements there
SO16_Saint Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Don't know much about him. Simple as that.
Gemmel Posted 14 September, 2010 Author Posted 14 September, 2010 He is included in Stoke's 25 man squad, so isn't completely surplus to requirements there Well that puts pay to that then. Very much doubt any club would loan out any of their 25.
Turkish Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 here we go again, how many players are we going to see over the next month or so....
Red And White Barmy Army Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 He's played left wing and central midfield. saw a bit of him in CM playing for sheffield united a few years back. not completely out of our reach i would have thought. an ordinary chamionship level player IMO. And the 25 man squad wouldn't mean much if stoke had 22-24 players in their 1st team squad and saw no reason not to add him in just in case 10 players went down with flu before the villa game.
Spudders Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 here we go again, how many players are we going to see over the next month or so.... more to the point, are there enough houses for them all to purchase?
supersonic Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 I seem to remember him and Michael Brown played exceptionally for sheffield united a few years back
Faz Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Well that puts pay to that then. Very much doubt any club would loan out any of their 25. He may have been nominated simply because they only have 25 players over 21.
Bearsy Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 I'd imagine he's pretty likely to go to the skates. This post is potentially libellous and in accordance with forum rules WILL be deleted.
Smirking_Saint Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Would be a very very good addition. We need a couple of midfielders, and a striker.
Give it to Ron Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 What was the number plate as there is one that is regularly seen around Rownhams/Baddesley similar to that name.
Viking Warrior Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 I was at St Mary's today. not much activity there today. even my pannini in the dell cafe to ages to be served to me
Toomer Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 more to the point, are there enough houses for them all to purchase? There is a flat for rent back on the market in Winchester.
dubai_phil Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Been away a long time, not up to date with Celebs, but why would we be interested in an over the hill Ibiza DJ? Or have I got this thread all a bit Mike Tonge
chi saint Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Doesn't mean he is going to sign but my son saw him in Southampton today. Any doubts that it wasn't him, soon erased by his number plate. Decent Winger No i'm sorry but the DVLA wouldn't allow a number plate that long, far too many letters so I have to cast doubt on the sighting!
Saint Fan CaM Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Adkins hinted that he had been looking at players for Scunny and that there might be some continuity to those enquiries now he's at Saints...who knows?
SaintNeil90 Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Is he not more of a central midfielder? left winger He is naturally a central midfielder but Stoke used him left mid.
Deano6 Posted 15 September, 2010 Posted 15 September, 2010 Just to be very clear, Portsmouth can (and no doubt will) sign another player on loan from Stoke. Any loans at the moment (ie outside the transfer window) will be classed as emergency loans, where they are allowed to loan 4 in a season. Very good explanation here... http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?14620-Pompey-Takeover-Saga&p=839253#post839253 They currently have 3: Sonko, Dickinson and Lawrence. They also signed Dave Kitson as a permanent transfer. Given the relationship they have with Stoke, the quality of Tonge and how desperate Pompey are for players, I would say it is HIGHLY likely he will be heading for Fratton Park. Maybe they're looking to break their wage cap again... http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Duos-wages-are-exception-to.6521804.jp
SaintRichmond Posted 15 September, 2010 Posted 15 September, 2010 No chance of getting him at this level, I'd imagine he's pretty likely to go to the skates. I would have thought he would have wanted to stay in Football ????? Perhaps he was in Southampton because he realises that it is the last time he will get a decnt meal
SaintRichmond Posted 15 September, 2010 Posted 15 September, 2010 more to the point, are there enough houses for them all to purchase? The lofts can hold quite a few don't forget
DS Posted 15 September, 2010 Posted 15 September, 2010 I was at St Mary's today. Are you a pacey winger? CYDAJFU?
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 15 September, 2010 Posted 15 September, 2010 Could be a number of reasons why he was in Southampton if indeed it was him in the first place. I saw Ugo Ehiogu in a restaurant on Oxford Street Monday night doesn't mean he is going to sign for us. Probably down for the boatshow.
Weston Saint Posted 15 September, 2010 Posted 15 September, 2010 I find it strange that a player who is in the Stoke nominated squad and has made 3 appearances as sub this season is going to go out on loan to a Div 1 club. Don't you! (Post is not aimes at anyone in particular)

Don't you! (Post is not aimes at anyone in particular) Agreed. I didnt realise he was in the 25 man squad, when I posted it and although i started with "Doesn't mean he is going to sign", when my son told me he had seen him, it ticked all the boxes of what we might be looking for, but as you have suggested, i would be very surprised if any listed premiership players within their clubs 25 would be let out on loan.
Toomer Posted 15 September, 2010 Posted 15 September, 2010 At least George Burley got something right last night for a change.
Rory Posted 15 September, 2010 Posted 15 September, 2010 Was he having a coffee with Anders Svensson and Alex Ostlund at Costa Coffee in West Quay? I assume they still both live there?
