He's played left wing and central midfield. saw a bit of him in CM playing for sheffield united a few years back. not completely out of our reach i would have thought. an ordinary chamionship level player IMO. And the 25 man squad wouldn't mean much if stoke had 22-24 players in their 1st team squad and saw no reason not to add him in just in case 10 players went down with flu before the villa game.

Just to be very clear, Portsmouth can (and no doubt will) sign another player on loan from Stoke. Any loans at the moment (ie outside the transfer window) will be classed as emergency loans, where they are allowed to loan 4 in a season.

Given the relationship they have with Stoke, the quality of Tonge and how desperate Pompey are for players, I would say it is HIGHLY likely he will be heading for Fratton Park. Maybe they're looking to break their wage cap again...

Agreed. I didnt realise he was in the 25 man squad, when I posted it and although i started with "Doesn't mean he is going to sign", when my son told me he had seen him, it ticked all the boxes of what we might be looking for, but as you have suggested, i would be very surprised if any listed premiership players within their clubs 25 would be let out on loan.
