Ian the Red Posted 15 September, 2010 Share Posted 15 September, 2010 Excellent interview! Appears very honest, straight forward sort of bloke. Thought he made the point that I am the Football Manager very clear. Think we might just have a good man to take us back to the prem!!
Charlie Wayman Posted 15 September, 2010 Share Posted 15 September, 2010 He's talked the talk so let's see if he can walk the walk tonight. if we get beaten 3-0 I winder what the pro-Adkins lobby will say tomorrow?

Quite rightly that a Manager can't get a team playing his way in 1 training session. You are a silly man Wayman!

steveo Posted 15 September, 2010 Share Posted 15 September, 2010 saturday will give us a bit more of an idea.......tonight is a bit too soon too make any kind of judgement. He`s had 2 training sessions!!! I think he`ll do a great job, thought the interview was very good, but he is not a miracle worker!!
doddisalegend Posted 15 September, 2010 Share Posted 15 September, 2010 Blimey I think Nigel should avoid actually playing football everyone loves him already he might spoil it by losing a game. These sort of interviews are ok but you really wouldn't expect him to say much different. I'd rather just see results starting with ripping MK dons a new one tonight. Nigels red and white army. dello Posted 15 September, 2010 Share Posted 15 September, 2010 seriously, how much is Saintsplayer bringing into the club? Not much I suspect and given the job to bring the content can be done by one person, two comfortably on £25K each, on a Sony Z1 (£3K), MacBookPro (£1800) and FCP (£400), wouldn't the club be doing a whole lot more to engender good relations with its fans by offering the service for free? I for one will never sign up given the amount of times I've heard complaints on here when people are trying to listen to a game. I presume there's ads on the service??? Most online outfits are happy to offer content for free and make us suffer an ad or two, why can't Saints? Surely allowing us free access is a better way to engender good feeling within the club and as we progress and people from outside the city take interest, they too can take a look and say, hey look what's going on down at Southampton I for one have been using it for the last two years and think it's very good. And am happy to pay 3-4 quid a month for the content. Giving it away for free would be ridiculous- what other club does that? I reckon it brings in a small profit and is a worthwile endeavour. I highly doubt the content producers are on more than 18k (they sound young and pretty amateurish!!)....

How much would advertisers pay to have a mass audience able to access free content? They couldn't ask for a more targeted audience ...surely??? Someone out there is media buying land able to give a figure on this? What's the potential audience out there interested in the team? Not just the regular goers and forum users but people from the town who for one reason or another are simply supporters. Probably went when they were kids, able to have a reasonably informed chat about the club in its current state, can easily recall the good times and is keen to get reacquainted with the club as they seem to be taking a turn. That audience is huge and available on the internet if they got rid of the fee. It's stupid, especially seeing as though we are having to look to the club for information for one reason or another. This is easy PR and I'm afraid lost on the powers that be. Just remembered the deferred payments scandal.

Like in every other walk of life if you want a service then you pay for it. See no reason for club to make it free, nor any problem with each part of club - car parking, catering etc covering its own costs. Anyway I dont want freaking tedious ads on every clip I watch - £3pm is a small price to pay.

Secret Site Agent Posted 15 September, 2010 Share Posted 15 September, 2010 Wow. I even put the winky thing in and still we have a spat dummy. Scott. I was being playful as well, sorry if I came across as if I was spitting out the dummy. Wasn't really, it's just there is quite a bit of science to this and it really is interesting, especially what I do, and you are negotiating with someone and they are lying, and you know they are. And how do you put these emoticon things in? Anyway, hope i didn't offend.
