Windmill Arm 2 Posted 24 September, 2010 Share Posted 24 September, 2010 It worries me a little that any decent potential loan signings of NPC/Prem standard would have been more likely to drop to League 1 to play for Pardew......does Adkins have the same appeal? Give it to Ron Posted 24 September, 2010 Share Posted 24 September, 2010 Simeon Jackson has gone quiet. Could work well for all concerned imho. Well he has been in Norwichs squad in 5 of their games this season so not that quiet.

Fergie Posted 24 September, 2010 Share Posted 24 September, 2010 dunno...just trying to sell my item!! thought i'd be cheeky! He would add a bit of competition for places in the middle though...if we dropped hammond or schneiderlin it would be wotton or pulis to replace them...feel ham and spider need someone to look over their shoulders at perhaps...same with rickie too. Professor Posted 25 September, 2010 Share Posted 25 September, 2010 Quite expected to go to the OS on Friday to see "player X has signed on loan and will go straight into the squad for the game at Sheffield". If the result at Hillsborough is the turn-around we badly need, then fine and NA will deserve all the congratulations that will go his way, but if its another dropped 3 points, the messages on here will start to be a bit less understanding. Saint Fan CaM Posted 25 September, 2010 Share Posted 25 September, 2010 When does the loan window close? Perhaps NC told NA to spend some time checking out the squad before committing to asking for more players?
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 25 September, 2010 Share Posted 25 September, 2010 When does the loan window close? Perhaps NC told NA to spend some time checking out the squad before committing to asking for more players? Or perhaps, with NA being (what's looking increasingly like) an excellent manager, he's made that call himself?!
Matthew Le God Posted 25 September, 2010 Share Posted 25 September, 2010 When does the loan window close? Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 26 September, 2010 Share Posted 26 September, 2010 A good win on Saturday and the clamour for new signings has died down a little. Nonetheless, I hope we're still actively looking to strengthen as, despite NA's promising start, we're still far from the finished article. Professor Posted 27 September, 2010 Share Posted 27 September, 2010 The need for new signings is as great now as it was last week. Of course the win was great, but it was a relief rather than a romp. The reports are that Saints were the better team, but we still managed just the one goal that Barnard managed to get over the keeper, while they could just have easily have scored at our end. If the goals and luck had gone Wednesday's way, we would now be bottom, so we need to keep a grasp on reality at least until we are mid-table or above. If we were winning 3-1 away from home, as we did a few times last year, I'd have more confidence and it is true that when Lallana is back the midfield will be stronger, but the fact remains that this team have lost 4 out of 8 games. buctootim Posted 27 September, 2010 Share Posted 27 September, 2010 Perhaps NC told NA to spend some time checking out the squad before committing to asking for more players? tbf any decent manager would do that anyway. Im sure he doesnt need to be told.
once_bitterne Posted 27 September, 2010 Share Posted 27 September, 2010 Any news on potential loan signings? I haven't seen us being linked with anyone. Is this an indication the money from the Liebherr's has dried up totally and we are back the self-sufficeint plc hand-to-mouth way of operating? Despite the win on Sat we are desperately in need of a couple of new faces to freshen things up and provide some competition for places. We seem to have little to give us a spark off of the bench and tbh if we are to have a sniff of promotion this year we need more than the likes of Pulis, Mills, Holmes and Wotton to turn a game if we are losing.... westmidlandsaint Posted 27 September, 2010 Share Posted 27 September, 2010 just posted this on the steven darby thread about his potential signing........... interesting because my business unit manager at work is a liverpool fan lives in cheshire (west midlands mon-thurs) and he told me the other day that Saints were looking at a Liverpool reserve player by the name of Victor Palsson (sp) i asked him about him as i know he follows all the reserve and youth games and he said .............. he's part portuguese, attacking midfielder who is thought of quite highly, skillful, quite quick and hard working thinks it would be a really good signing for us. sfcuk fan Posted 29 September, 2010 Share Posted 29 September, 2010 When does the Loan Window shut? quote :- The loan window as opposed to the transfer window, still following? in the FL is different again on timings with the loan window openinga week after the transfer window has closed. So on 7th September players can be brought in on loan but only up until 5pm on the fourth Thursday in November which this year falls 24th November. This loan window as opposed to the transfer window then opens again in February and runs until the fourth Thursday in March which is 5pm on 24th. West End Saint Posted 30 September, 2010 Share Posted 30 September, 2010 I would have thought NA has had enough time to see that we need some players in we have been banging on since the start of the season for cover in midfield Hammond & Morgan can't be far away from suspension & we need some pace & another striker. I know we do our business behind closed doors but I would have hoped we had got 1 or 2 in by now I am not having a pop at NA he seem's like he will be a good manager for us I would have thought he would want some players in that he choose not sure why it is taking so long. Sort of makes a mockery of the transfer window doesn't it? Why do the FL/FA bother have windows at all at this level??
