Armitage Shanks Posted 13 September, 2010 Share Posted 13 September, 2010 All depends upon result. Sounds obvious but if he were to lose his first 6 six games in charge then he could be out of the door by the end of October. Unlikely but you never know. Cortese wants promotion this season and will do anything he believes is right to achieve that.
sadoldgit Posted 13 September, 2010 Share Posted 13 September, 2010 I do love it when this place tries to 2nd guess NC... Those that have have a poor record of getting it right So to suggest he will be in "trouble" if we are not top 2 by Xmas is funny But given his (NCs) ambition, not unlikely. sadoldgit Posted 13 September, 2010 Share Posted 13 September, 2010 Well, name them then. Don't just say "a bigger name". For example, if you would have hired Holloway or Grant (the two reputed applicants) over Adkins, then say so. I can't name them because I don't know who they are. I am just repeating what NC has said.
Baird of the land Posted 13 September, 2010 Share Posted 13 September, 2010 He has to the end of the season. He's got a huge task to turn around a club that's been left disarray by the sudden sacking of its manager and the freefall that's followed. At the end of the season if we're not promoted Cortese will have to explain to the owners why were still languishing in a lower leagues and i doubt very much he'll lay the blame on himself. Fitzhugh Fella Posted 13 September, 2010 Share Posted 13 September, 2010 wasn't there a sweepstake thread about how long Pardew would get started about a year ago? Must go and see if I can find it. I will give Adkins longer mainly because he seems to have no baggage whereas Pardew arrived with many fans at his previous clubs not exactly singing his praises. Adkins should get this and next season to get us up. We have to be patient now - we simply cannot afford to chop and change any more as we are all a bit punch drunk
sadoldgit Posted 13 September, 2010 Share Posted 13 September, 2010 I agree that he should get two seasons and as you say Duncan, he comes with no baggage (but high expectations). However, with NCs hurry to get to the Premiership I think we might be looking for yet another manager if we don't go up this year.

sadoldgit Posted 13 September, 2010 Share Posted 13 September, 2010 would you be upset if we just missed out and NC was right behind HIS man and backed him for another season...? Why not? I would like to see some stability at the club. It would have been nice if he had been right behind his other man, Pardew too, but obviously they didn't get on.
