Dog Posted 12 September, 2010 Author Posted 12 September, 2010 Bran and sultana cereal with sliced banana. A mug of damn fine coffee. You should try Fruit & Fibre, I think you might enjoy it.
SNSUN Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 I don't eat breakfast, a cup of coffee suffices, but if I do have anything, it's Crunch Nut Bites.
RonManager Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 You should try Fruit & Fibre, I think you might enjoy it. I'm not keen on the dried fruit, too chewy. I'd rather add some fresh, hence the bananas and raisins etc. If I'm doing a long, hard days work firing me steam engine though, as I did last Thursday and Friday, then it's a full fried breakfast on the loco footplate after lighting up, normally about 5am. You can't beat sausages etc off the shovel. Eggs take about 5 seconds!!!
angelman Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 cup of filter coffee (usual week day breakfast) but today: 1 croissant - cut in half and a fried egg and rasher of smoked bacon put on top. kids ate the remaining croissants so had to go for a bit of toast to go with the second egg and bacon.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 13 September, 2010 Posted 13 September, 2010 A cream cheese bagel from Bagel King- top notch.

mickn Posted 13 September, 2010 Posted 13 September, 2010 Crunchy Nut Cornflakes or 3 Farley's Rusks in hot milk
amsterdam Posted 13 September, 2010 Posted 13 September, 2010 4 "Luckies", 2 extra-strong espresso's and occasionally Oxo on toast... Love the Full English, but bacon and sausages here are not the same as back home. Farley's Rusks are a great shout - they still make them?
saintscottofthenortham Posted 13 September, 2010 Posted 13 September, 2010 Scrambled egg on Brown Bread, with a shed load of pepper and a touch of Tommy. Every day at 5am.

hamster Posted 13 September, 2010 Posted 13 September, 2010 Cereal is what I eat late at night. This morning I waited until after my third coffee before I indulged in a Snickers Duo. Didn't need to eat again until i got home.
St Landrew Posted 13 September, 2010 Posted 13 September, 2010 A few slices of toasted French brioche with butter, a bowl of Swiss muesli, and a huge mug of tea. Couldn't finish the tea.
iansums Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 A slice of toast with Bovril, a cup of coffee, a glass of orange juice (Tropicana), a muti-vitamin tablet, a vitamin C tablet and an Actimel. I swear by the Actimel's. I definately suffer from colds/flu far less since taking them. Even my daughter has one every day. She has had just half a day off sick from school in 7 years.
Crab Lungs Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 I'm terrified to kick-start my metabolism so I just skip it :-o
bridge too far Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 I'm terrified to kick-start my metabolism so I just skip it :-o Worst thing you can do! Your body is fooled into thinking it is being starved and therefore lays down more fat and increases the metabolic rate when you do eventually feed it. Best thing to eat is a slow release food such as porridge. Keeps you feeling fuller longer and so you're less inclined to snack.
Baj Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Unless of course you skip it every day, in which case your body adjusts to your eating pattern. I rarely eat breakfast, and me and Mr Lungs are hardly the fattest people in the world!

iansums Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Did anyone see Jamie (fat-lip) Oliver on TV last night doing his kid's school meals thing, only this time in the US. He's at this elementary school where they feed the kids Pizza for breakfast FFS.
latter day saint Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 which breakfast? 1st or 2nd ? i have a bowl of Shreddies at 5:30 then a small english, fruit juice & 2 slices of fruit loaf at 9:30. not put any weight on for at least 5yrs.
St Landrew Posted 14 September, 2010 Posted 14 September, 2010 Did anyone see Jamie (fat-lip) Oliver on TV last night doing his kid's school meals thing, only this time in the US. He's at this elementary school where they feed the kids Pizza for breakfast FFS. Yeah, I saw that. When Jamie was standing next to the bin, where the uneaten food got thrown away, you could see his shoulders slumping at the type of food that was being returned. Out of all the crap that the kids got fed, the healthy stuff, i.e. the apples and salads just got thrown away, and most of the time, completely untouched. I found it incredible that kids are not schooled properly in healthy eating.
