Neil Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 To be honest it's another pathetic start to the season, to add to the vast back catalogue of pathetic Saints starts to seasons. This one seems to be even more unforgiveable than most of the other ones. I'd take Keegan yesterday, just to wake up the city again and cause a bit of a stir. OK he may not be here for long, but which Saints manager ever is these days? All is not lost yet, but I'm utterly fed up with ****ing up games in August and September every year, and leaving ourselves so much to do. We need a manager tomorrow, even an average manager should be able to get promotion from this league.
mcjwills Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 Coming on this forum is the techno version of listening to Morrisey and the Smiths, you were feeling a bit down at the results and after reading all the negative stuff written on here you end up suicidal.
farawaysaint Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 Christ this title is depressing... I'm well aware of where we are in the table thanks I'm ****ed of to but there's not much we can do about it except wait for a manager. At least NC is looking by all accounts.
egreog Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 Garbage. Anything other than promotion would still be a monumental failure. Let's not have any of this "rebuilding" nonsense whenever the new man takes over and let's not start the spinning that "won't it be amazing if we finish mid table, oh haven't we done well". Top four without fail this season is the requirement. Promotion either auto or through the play offs is the absolute must. If you need any clarity on that, ask Nicola Cortese. I agree...... Garbage is exactly what the new incumbent will have to deal with in terms of performances and general morale. There will be no quick fix and results will take time to improve. Some people seem to think Saints have some divine right to automatic promotion this season after an abjectly poor start..... my view is it just isn't going to happen.........OK not mid table but possibly play offs is achievable
Miltonaggro Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 Mojo is the right word Ron, spot on! In terms of giving the underperforming team ('I would not take a salary if I failed to get promotion with that squad' Gus Poyet) an appropriately strong enema, and the long suffering Saints supporters an appropriately significant boost, Keegan is your man. Adkins and his ilk may work long term, but I think another year in this league will kill off an awful lot of fans, he seems more of a finger waggle and collective sigh of acceptance type of guy. CBF is right, anything other than promotion this season will be a monumental failure, any more scandal or spin will be an insult to the collective intelligence...
doddisalegend Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 Like I said, leave that stuff aside, but, nope brought up again. Look, we didn't turn up against Plymouth or Leyton Orient either. Sometimes, as a player, you have to look at yourself. Stop putting blame on everyone else, they simply haven't done it this season, with or without Pardew, it goes deeper than that, and no, I don't mean NC, I mean DESIRE! you can't leave it aside thats the whole point you have look at everything together its all linked you can't just leave out the bits that don't fit the theory The first 3 games were ok not awful pre -season had not been the best people looked off the pace but the team character was there Next 2 games we picked up played very well, fitness started to come Next three we bombed and played very badly - main reason no manager, team spirit shot to hell the team didn't win 4-0 and then just turn bad overnight for no reason but if you want to leave that reason out feel free.

OK heres what the club statement says, I assume NC had to agree to it "we recognise that frequent changes to the football management are unlikely to assist in the winning of trophies and promotions" Sounds like he's getting his excuses in early to me.

Excuses to who? They aren't answerable to anyone, least of all you.
doddisalegend Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 Excuses to who? They aren't answerable to anyone, least of all you. CB fry? anything less than promotion is failure apparently.
hamster Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 We are basically just 2 wins from a play-off spot, not counting the GD atm. Game in hand (win) makes them just 1 win away and as we saw last season, once we get that winning mentality back, passing teams above is will become as easy as passing man on a tricycle whilst popping a wheelie down the M27 riding a Fireblade. We all know that what we saw yesteday was not saints, something happened on the way to the match yesterday (imho) and it affected the players no end. Don't know what exactly but anyone who saw them disembarking at the ground will confirm that they weren't even talking to each other. signed a few programmes but their heads were down and they looked like losers to me.
hamster Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 If we win against MK Dons we will jump NINE places! Will that be some kind of record?
hamster Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 And, there are only 10 teams with a better GD atm.
Verbal Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 CB fry? anything less than promotion is failure apparently. In the end, we are all answerable to CB Fry. Keep up.
bounder Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 Before we get too excited about where we are in the table, were falling behind, well be lucky with mid table blah blah blah. Go to the echo forum and read the lenghty post from one of the 15 who met cortese last week. We are in great hands and when things fall into place Saints are gonna fly. Its when I read things like that it makes me so proud to support Saints, its all good people!

Deppo Posted 12 September, 2010 Posted 12 September, 2010 CB fry? anything less than promotion is failure apparently. Actually he probably is answerable to CB Fry. CB Fry is Lord of the Internet. Cortese would be wise to know this, or else he'll be on the losing end of an internet argument.
