Just wondering if any of you follow Ice Hockey?

I have been following the guildford Flames since 1996 when I moved there for a couple of years, and they used to clean up on all the trophies at the time. Used to watch every home game between 1996 - 1998, but have only been a few times since.

I find the sport very exciting and fast paced, with many goals always good for all the family.

PS - It is not the BNL any more it is the EPL

I like watching the NHL as well, but nothing is quite the same to being at a live game. Not sure why it will not take off on tv over here, as it is exciting, high scoring and fast paced! Anyone seen a game in the States or Canada?

Next time I go to New York I want to watch the Rangers.

I live near Ottawa so I have been to see the Senators quite a few times, can't beat the playoffs, the atmosphere is amazing.

Going to go to my first ice hockey game in sweden in 3 weeks time, dont really get the rules so not sure how much ill be able to "get" from being there, but should be a laugh

Who are you going to see? Frolunde? Ice Hockey is a pretty simple game, but fast and exciting. Do a quick google search for terms such as "icing", "offside" and "powerplay" and you will understand why the whistle gets blown and there is a stoppage in play. Hope you have a great time...

I went to go and watch but the prices were ****ing steep for a game I had no interest in. Thought football was expensive to watch.

True, but the way I see it if you are paying to go to New York, then to go and watch a popular sporting event while you are out there does not really make that much of an impact on the overall expense.

Let me know how it goes as I am planning on going to Sweden in December and might try and catch a match. :D

Used to work a bit down the old Top Rank ice rink and sometimes used to train with the Vikings. Went to Streatham once to see us play the Redskins and since the So'ton ice rink folded have occasionally kept tabs on Streatham.

Was up in Streatham buying a motor a month or so ago and drove past the old Streatham ice rink, that brought back some memories!
