trousers Posted 10 September, 2010 Posted 10 September, 2010 Good news... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2148880,00.html The Liverpudlian striker has worked on a specially designed regime this week to regain his sharpness on the pitch following a tough start to the campaign, which came off the back of an injury hit pre season for the forward. "The fellas from the physios, to the coaching staff to Dean have been superb this week because they've understood exactly what I've needed, and what I've lacked in the last few weeks, so they've been brilliant to help me fulfil what I need. I'm feeling good at the minute, and hopefully I can take that into Saturday now.
Appy Posted 10 September, 2010 Posted 10 September, 2010 Promising, lets hope we see the results tomorrow then.
whizz Posted 10 September, 2010 Posted 10 September, 2010 Good news... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2148880,00.html Fair play admitting that he's been unfit and not playing very well. Sounds like he's ready to bounce back after an intensive week of training - Arise Sir Ricky - get on that scoresheet!!
alpine_saint Posted 10 September, 2010 Posted 10 September, 2010 Good news, if he is feeling good and ups his game, the rest will follow.
sadoldgit Posted 10 September, 2010 Posted 10 September, 2010 We rely heavily of Ricky and Adam and to have them both bellow par hasn't helped. There is still a long way to go. Let's hope this is the start of better things in front of goal!
s0108787 Posted 10 September, 2010 Posted 10 September, 2010 His whole demeanour was wrong in the interview on Saints Player, he was stuttering, mumbling and stumbling over his words and looked really down, almost depressed! It worried me quite alot, i think that something is definitely up with Rickie, maybe Pardew's departure has affected him more than most?

fire&skill Posted 10 September, 2010 Posted 10 September, 2010 Ricky raring to go . . . . . . . . . to 'Pizza Hut'.
Draino76 Posted 10 September, 2010 Posted 10 September, 2010 Pull yourself together Richard. If my boss got the sack I would be doing cartwheels to the office and back.
s0108787 Posted 10 September, 2010 Posted 10 September, 2010 no, he doesn't. he almost looks suicidal!
Red Posted 10 September, 2010 Posted 10 September, 2010 Actions speak louder than words! And why does it take until now and the current circumstances for our "top professional" to realise he is unfit and not pulling his weight??? Lot's of answers to this, but for now RL just prove it on the pitch as the new manager may not think you are the god that AP thought you were and hence the automatic selection - then again I guess you figured that out, hence the "opening your sole" moment. For any one worried about our prima dona's not accepting the new manager (regardless of their status), this is a perfect example of why that is a non issue - RL knows only too well that despite being our best player last year, two years ago he was a nobody, and there were NO offers for him during the summer break
Saint_clark Posted 11 September, 2010 Posted 11 September, 2010 no, he doesn't. he almost looks suicidal! Just watched it, and he doesn't look that bad. He looks even happier than usual, no doubt because he is feeling fitter.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 11 September, 2010 Posted 11 September, 2010 hopefully he will get back to how we know he can play, because so far he has been shocking. Granted he has been unfit, and i totally understand playing him still as with Rickie he can bang a goal in from nothing. Hopefully today's the day he comes good again!!! COYS

You only had to watch him during the games to see that he knew he was off the pace and wasn't happy about it...
Thedelldays Posted 11 September, 2010 Posted 11 September, 2010 good..he needs to get back to something like the lambert we all know

It worried me quite alot, i think that something is definitely up with Rickie, maybe Pardew's departure has affected him more than most? perhaps he realises that with a different manager our entire game might just not focus on Rickie Lambert but be geared to suit the talents of far better players, he might only get 20 goals in a season and therefore less money. Just a hypothesis mind you.

Window Cleaner Posted 11 September, 2010 Posted 11 September, 2010 There are no attackers in our squad better than Lambert. Lallana is a better player, 100% cast iron fact,Lambert's style requires that we play in a certain manner, this also makes us utterly predictable and easy to shut down.Barnard may well be the equal of Lambert for all we know, he certainly is more mobile and allows us a bit of licence on the tactical plan.If you take away the penas and free kicks from Lambert's total last season (ok we needed those goals and he certainly does take a good FK) how many goals from open play does that give him (serious question)?
Barry the Badger Posted 11 September, 2010 Posted 11 September, 2010 Lallana is a better player, 100% cast iron fact, I think you will find that is an opinion, not a fact.

It would still be over 30.
