The quotes from the Scunny chairman are more than enough for me. Even if Adkins does now join us, its under a messy, unprofessional, negative cloud. I am well aware that there are always plenty of games played by all sides in this kind of negotiation and those involved need to be a bit ruthless to a certain extent, but whatever happens Cortese and Saints have been left looking stupid out of this.

 

Its all good and well saying one needs to be a bit hard-nosed etc, but they'll come a time when Cortese's approach will put off people doing business with him to the detriment of Southampton FC.

Yep. I can't remember such a farcial recruitment of a new manager happening at any other club. Whether the Scunny manager knows ALL of the details or not, it is a mess. Or do you think its just bad that this has happened to us?

I don't get this nothing has come out from our club it's still all media speculation and anouncements from other parties maybe it was almost agreed maybe its was agreed but if the manageer has not signed and we have not announced it, it has not yet happened, if a company offered you a job would you tell every one at your old work and resign before either a written offer letter or you had signed a contract, I wouldn't , looks like the S****horpe chairman just jumped the gun on announcing it, maybe he did it to **** us off and scupper the deal so he could keep his manager and still look good.

why not believe the club for a change and back us not the opposition. The Scunny chairman has been a loose cannon and is trying to do the best he can for his club. Whether that is more money or keeping the manager i don't know.

His comment about Nigel shouldnt work for him, could be calculating to get NC's back up to pull out and so he still has a manager. We just don't know, but having a go at our club is counterproductive IMo

While I am as confused as everyone else Saints are like my extended family.

 

If one of my Kids mucked up I would still defend them with my life. Why is it that every news story or rumour is greated by so many so called Saints Fans with nothing but abuse and automatic siding with anyone but the club?

 

If the club put out a public statement to say what ever then as a fan of Southampton FC I am prepared to take that word over some of the many hashed reports that appear all over the place.

 

The way the business appears to be run says to me that unless you hear it from the club then its prob bull from those that wish they were in the circle of trust.

 

I have my reservations that all may not be well but this is still my club and I will continue to back it.

South Today just reported that Adkins and his assistant agreed to the job around midnight last night and that NC wanted them to stay in Southampton and take training/meet the players this morning. Adkins wanted to go home and 'say goodbye' to staff and players at Scunny and did so against NC's wishes.

 

If that is the case, then IMO Adkins is in the wrong. His allegiance should switch immediately and he should do everything in his power to take Southampton forward, even if that meant starting at 8am this morning. I can't believe he went home!!

at present the Scunny chairman is losing. he has scuppered his managers chance of moving to a bigger arena, his players will be unsettled as they know NA will be leaving in the near future. Both clubs are hurt
