Well Adkins has shown experience in this league don't you think? He has won it twice after all. As to whether he can push on and go all the way, well that's just guess work don't you think? And I've seen nothing from you to suggest that above said names would be able to either. No your point was that you didn't believe that Adkins can command the respect of the fans or players and that your chosen selection (even including Shearer!) would be better because.....why exactly? My point is that, in this league, Adkins has shown experience which is exactly what we need but people can't see past the fact that until a couple of weeks ago most wouldn't know who he was. Well I think my argument is more about why Adkins wouldn't be my choice but since you ask then I would view any appointment that isn't at least as good as Pardew's standing is now as disappointing. Personally I think we need someone who demands respect from both the fans and players - I don't think Adkins does either. I'd go for Keegan if he wanted it, Shearer, Mowbray, Brown or even Megson - they've all handled the expectation that comes with this job and delivered a certain amount of success. Who would you go for though?

Well, if I have to explain it again then I believe an experienced manager who has had the experience of dealing with the big expectations we have is better equipped to deal with this challenge than Adkins who hasn't ever had that level of expectation. Not so hard to understand is it? Sleep tight and enjoy school tomorrow.

Christ can't you read? I said that including Shearer was a mistake! That said yes, I'd take him over Adkins purely because he'd get the fans on side earlier. Did Keane have any experience? Did Beckenbauer? Did Keegan?
