eesti matty Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Why was he at St. Mary's for the Bolton game? Do you think he was checking out some younger players? Has he worked with Les Reed before? Do you think Pearce is a genuine candidate for the Saints job? Would he leave his job to join us? Would the FA allow him to do both jobs like Peter Taylor did? Looking at the teams that day, it seems that Davies and Muamba (although both were born in 1988) might have been the reason why he was there, or alternatively Martin and/or Oxlade Chamberlain...... or...... there's something more to it. The plot thickens! Gosh, I just want us to appoint somebody and get our season properly started.
Appy Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 I guess he was there to watch Cahill's performance for Capello, in case he played. I expect Lallana was on his agenda too for the under 21s. Don't read too much into it.

shurlock Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 At least, he's used to being one italian's b itch.
eesti matty Posted 7 September, 2010 Author Posted 7 September, 2010 If he was there with a view to taking over at Saints, it would imply that Cortese had already lined up a successor for Pardew, but that seems not to have been the case.
saintjay77 Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 He was there the last time I went too. Mind blank and can't remember the game now but it was last season. My guess is he was looking at the under 21 players rather than sizing up a possible job opportunity.
SaintNeil90 Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Probably for the same reasons capello goes to games to check out English players. And while he's looking at boltons he could watch Lallana
Block 5 Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Can we have a separate thread for every single manager rumoured to be coming to SMS please? This would be much easier than having just the one sticky manager thread.
thesaint sfc Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Can we have a separate thread for every single manager rumoured to be coming to SMS please? This would be much easier than having just the one sticky manager thread. Sorry, there isn't room on the internet.
the saint in winchester Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 If we're talking about people who have attended recent games ... Bobby Gould was there on Saturday. (Dave Merrington talked to him at half time!) Don't tell me he's being considered for the setup? (agonised look smiley)

(agonised look smiley) My ole man reckoned Andrew lloyd webber was there for a game recently although I'm not sure he has done his coaching badges so may be a red herring!

eesti matty Posted 8 September, 2010 Author Posted 8 September, 2010 He's been there a few times. His son is a fan. Peter Reid was there on Saturday Andrew and Julian Lloyd Webber were at the Orient game primarily because they both support Leyton Orient.
