Sour Mash Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 I reckon someone, somewhere starts these rumours, sits back and laughs at all you lot going round the twist.
richardc Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Haha on Jordan Sibley's twitter: "It's days like these I wish I ran a bookies!" Most probably bull**** then who's Jordan sibley?
Nexstar Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 who's Jordan sibley? Club communications guy. He writes up all the OS articles.
GenevaSaint Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Club communications guy. He writes up all the OS articles. And also a member on here, assuming it's the same guy. Never posted.
Saint Garrett Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 That's MoN out of the equation then !!
trousers Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 And also a member on here, assuming it's the same guy. Never posted. Although he's always looking at the threads on here.....
sussexsaint Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 That's MoN out of the equation then !! Gasp, really?
Chris Marsden = Genius Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Haha on Jordan Sibley's twitter: "It's days like these I wish I ran a bookies!" Most probably bull**** then To me that implies its not anyone even in the betting market, foreign manager.
Chez Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 To me that implies its not anyone even in the betting market, foreign manager. it implies to me that its not MON, because the news/rumour last night and this monring was that MON was the new manager and subsequently his odds had shortened greatly.
Hatch Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 I believe that a contract has been drawn up with Channel 4, with terms agreed that whoever wins celeb Big Brother will also win the chance to manage Southampton FC. The winner will be announced this weekend. Live on TV. Thats the WOW factor accounted for.
richardc Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 it implies to me that its not MON, because the news/rumour last night and this monring was that MON was the new manager and subsequently his odds had shortened greatly. He could just be teasing us
smithy Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 This wait is becoming more painful with every minute that passes.

Or we could do a version of the apprentice 12 hopeful managers only one winner NC doing his best "your fired routine" they could broadcast weekly on saints player.
LostBoys Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 I can wait for Martin O'Neill until tomorrow - Wednesday that is at 1200 hours - that was my sweepstake bet!!
the saint in winchester Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 "New manager announcement tomorrow" is becoming like the sign in the pub "FREE BEER TOMORROW". Never is it today, always tomorrow. So we keep tuning in in case it's today.
Matthew Le God Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Adkins confirmed in the local S****horpe paper that he will be taking training today in S****horpe. http://www.thisiss****horpe.co.uk/s****horpeunitednews/Adkins-training-normal/article-2612323-detail/article.html It is a long trip from S****horpe to Southampton of 240 miles so he wouldn't be here any time soon (if indeed it is him).
monkadill Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 I used to live next door to a chef who used to tempt guys into his room shouting "Free beer" - hope this helps?
Armitage Shanks Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Is that an anagram? So Stevo, what is your sixth sense telling you?

Looks like its Phil Brown. Another season of disappointment for Saints.
Appy Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Looks like its Phil Brown. Another season of disappointment for Saints. Yeah what a shame we might get someone who got Hull City promoted.
trousers Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 I used to live next door to a chef who used to tempt guys into his room shouting "Free bear" - hope this helps? Grizzly?
Greenridge Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 I can wait for Martin O'Neill until tomorrow - Wednesday that is at 1200 hours - that was my sweepstake bet!! Whatever happened to Friday? It always used to be Friday!
doddisalegend Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Yeah what a shame we might get someone who got Hull City promoted. and then all but relegated again. Still might bring a bit of comdey to SMS with his constant ill discipline nothing like some touch line spats to get SMS going.
Eastcowzer Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Looks like its Phil Brown. Another season of disappointment for Saints. Yesterdays 'Telegraph mentioned Rolf Fringer, manager of Lucerne, (Switzerland), as a possible candidate. Anybody know anything about him.
dune Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Looks like its Phil Brown. Another season of disappointment for Saints. If he gets the job i'll be underwhelmed. Cortese wants a brown noser imo so I guess we have to set our sights low though.
Eastcowzer Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Yesterdays 'Telegraph mentioned Rolf Fringer, manager of Lucerne, (Switzerland), as a possible candidate. Anybody know anything about him. Apparently is a very succesful manager in Helvetia. Has managed the Swiss national side, VfB Stuttgart. and Graashoppers Zurich. Also, His first mangerial job was with Schaffhausen which is where Markus had some of his factories. FC Luzern are currently top of the Swiss league
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 The Fringer thing is either plucking a name out the swiss leagues because of the Liebherr connection so it seems real....or it's true. HTH. I predict ANY foreigner many haven't heard of will be disregarded as a new Poortvliet by most fans regardless of background. I also think old Jan wouldn't do such a bad job with this squad in this league ;-) To be fair a few of the ignorant ones were saying the same of Christian Gross. Unbelieveable.
OldNick Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Yesterdays 'Telegraph mentioned Rolf Fringer, manager of Lucerne, (Switzerland), as a possible candidate. Anybody know anything about him. they probably misheard and it was a Folk Singer
buctootim Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 I'm not sure winning titles and champions league experience this season really qualifies someone to win in league 1. It's a very unique league and even premiership experience should be frowned upon. And anyway its different in England.
SET Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 (edited) Chatting to a mate earlier from a sports publication Latest rumor he's heard is when Stuart Pearce is home from international games, he will be spoken too Edited 7 September, 2010 by SET
Saints foreva Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Yeah what a shame we might get someone who got Hull City promoted. Yes, then signed loads of players on stupid wages and those players had nothing but negative things to say about Brown when he was sacked....
kpturner Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 OP says tomorrow. Is that tomorrow or today or yesterdays tomorrow?
SuperMikey Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Today, supposedly. I'm still hinging on a 5pm press conference...
bridge too far Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 OP says tomorrow. Is that tomorrow or today or yesterdays tomorrow? My dad always used to say 'Tomorrow never comes. Yesterday you said today was tomorrow'.
Block 5 Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 OP says tomorrow. Is that tomorrow or today or yesterdays tomorrow? "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow...." WS
Saint_Si Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Interesting to see Jeff Kenna has come out of nowhere and his odds have been slashed today from 33/1 to 8/1!!
The Kraken Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 Looks like its Phil Brown. Another season of disappointment for Saints. My Hull supporting mate would very much disagree; here's his words about Permatan Phil: "Would be a great signing in my opinion. Tactically really strong and would bring a great assistant in Brian Horton who knows the lower leagues - no money to really spend so no stupid signings, just a good squad to work with." I agree with him, I think it would be agreat appointment while we're in League 1 and the Championship. We would maybe need to re-assess if we get back to the Prem, but lets get the bloody job done first with a couple of guys who've been there and done it before, playing football the right way and with the ability to translate their tactical thinking to the pitch.
DT Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow...." WS You're bard
John D Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 I was at St Marys today. All quiet there and no sign of any press conference or a new manager
JustMike Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 My Hull supporting mate would very much disagree; here's his words about Permatan Phil: "Would be a great signing in my opinion. The statement spoke about putting a team in place to get us out of L1 and to the Prem and keeping us there. Brown, for me is no different to AP, in fact, id rather have kept AP
doddisalegend Posted 7 September, 2010 Posted 7 September, 2010 I've decided I quite Like Brown now. His wiki entry is quite funny.I like the idea of a manager who will spend half his time down the FA on disrepute charges. We will have to pay him quite well becuase of all the fines he'll end up paying. I also quite like the idea of holding the half time team talk on the pitch more entertaining than watching kids take penalty kicks. Plus if he gets us promoted he might give us a sing song using a loud speaker like he did at hull.
