S-Clarke Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Are we getting ahead of ourselves a bit with this thinking that MON is going to be appointed (obviously it could be true and I'd be jumping for joy if it was), i mean, yes we're a big club but face facts we are in league one? Who saw the signing of KK coming? who saw Tevez and Masc joining west ham?? football is a funny old game and it will always throw up the odd surprise that will make you go ''WTF?'' At the end of the day if the money is there and Cortese has managed to sell the project, any manager out of work would be seriously interested IMO. People will say that he's waiting for the England or Man Utd job - how long is he prepared to sit on his arse and wait?!?! I'm sure he's still got the fire in his belly to manage, and what a progressive club to come and manage...
modern matron Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Lads, let's just have some patience. I have heard that things are getting sorted that will make a lot of people happy, but don't get ahead of yourselves. Why don't you say what you mean? Presumably you posting here makes no difference...Go on you know you want to...
buctootim Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 People do know that bookies odds is a reflection of how much money is placed, not a divine prediction of the future right? The only thing shifting the odds is 100s of saints forum posters desperate punts that MoN, likely the next England manager will come to Saints - and if he doesnt its all Cortese's fault.
dubai_phil Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Alps, is your Mrs getting into position for the great unleashing of your excitement? Think Flybe will be busy into that part of the world in teh coming days. Looks like Etihad has a spare seat so might pop over and join in the party.
doddisalegend Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 I would like to know if the anti-NC brigade will drop their objections and back him if he has secured the services of MON. Depends what if MON came and lost his first twenty games in charge would you still back him?
Saint Charlie Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Still think Adkins sounds a lot more plausible. The MON stuff is based on a couple of ITK comments, nothing more at this stage.
Dark Munster Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 I have to say I will really not be happy, excited, or upset by this if it is Atkins. Bit flatline really and not the news I was expecting or hoping for! At least he can do something about Ricky's weight.
Alejam Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Who saw the signing of KK coming? who saw Tevez and Masc joining west ham?? football is a funny old game and it will always throw up the odd surprise that will make you go ''WTF?'' I'm sure he's still got the fire in his belly to manage, and what a progressive club to come and manage... Ye I totally agree with you, your bang on 100% right, i just have my doubts, due to the fact that he's already managed at lower level and worked his way up to bigger clubs (obviously Celtic, Villa) just wondering whether he'd want to do it again now that hes a proven manager......
alpine_saint Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Depends what if MON came and lost his first twenty games in charge would you still back him? If MON joins and cannot get us up, I will conclude that it simply cannot be done.
alpine_saint Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Not Adkins or MoN. Be prepared for deja vu. Dalek must be getting excited then...
CWD Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Not Adkins or MoN. Be prepared for deja vu. oh god not another one
modern matron Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Not Adkins or MoN. Be prepared for deja vu. Strachan?
trousers Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Not Adkins or MoN. Be prepared for deja vu. Hoddle? WGS? Laurie Mac?
SimplyRed&White Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 I cannot believe people are taking Deppo seriously! Look at his posting history. He is a wind up merchant.

Is it? we spent little this summer and lets face it we might have spent a lot at legaue one level but it's still peanuts to someone who's worked in the prem like MON our whole squad is worth less than James Miliner
saint lard Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Think Flybe will be busy into that part of the world in teh coming days. Looks like Etihad has a spare seat so might pop over and join in the party. I wonder if Bukkake gets through the filter?
Pat from Poole Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Not Adkins or MoN. Be prepared for deja vu. Er, Hoddle?????
trousers Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Not Adkins or MoN. Be prepared for deja vu. Dave Jones?
alpine_saint Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Is it? we spent little this summer and lets face it we might have spent a lot at legaue one level but it's still peanuts to someone who's worked in the prem like MON our whole squad is worth less than James Miliner I reckon you dont want it to be MON because that will be seen as a successful coup for NC.
SaintNeil90 Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Not too long ago the FA released a statement saying the next england manager would be 'English'. Martin O'Neill is from Northern Ireland. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/8915481.stm
Saint Charlie Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 I cannot believe people are taking Deppo seriously! Look at his posting history. He is a wind up merchant. Nutshell.
Griffo Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 If some of you look at Deppo's actions on this forum you will see he is the biggest WUM on here, so I would think very carefully before believing anything he's saying.
Badger Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Not Adkins or MoN. Be prepared for deja vu. WGS even ?
CWD Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 If some of you look at Deppo's actions on this forum you will see he is the biggest WUM on here, so I would think very carefully before believing anything he's saying. Deppo talks ********, but he has kept me entertained for the last week!
trousers Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 M.l.t? edit: FFS - stop converting my capitals to lower case FFS
Deppo Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 I cannot believe people are taking Deppo seriously! Look at his posting history. He is a wind up merchant. Look mate, I didn't ask to be told informartion, it just got passed on. Either people want me to tell them what I know or they don't, it makes no difference to me and it will make no difference to the man who has been appointed. It might p*ss Nicola off a little though, and when you find out who he's lined up, that's the last thing you'll want to do.
David Strover Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Chris Nicholl - brilliant. I'm titsed off with all this poo-poo and as I have only three posts (and thank goodness for that) I'm off to bed to put in some productive sleeping - which will be more productivity than has been shown on here for several days.
CWD Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 by familiar face, do you mean someone who hasn't been manager? maybe an old player? Shearer?
SO16_Saint Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 No, but a familiar face. Got it. They've kissed and made up. It's Pardew
Saint Charlie Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 If some of you look at Deppo's actions on this forum you will see he is the biggest WUM on here, so I would think very carefully before believing anything he's saying. Thats what I mean and what nobody has answered- where has the MON rumour even come from? A couple of joke PM's and a load of false hope!
doddisalegend Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 I reckon you dont want it to be MON because that will be seen as a successful coup for NC. read my post further up oh **** it I'll post it again for you I'm not sure I would won't MON (and I'm pretty sure he won't come anyway) not becuase he's not a good manager he is. I'm just not convinced he'd be that committed to saints and would be off as soon as something better came along. What I really want at saints is some management stability in the same way as Man U or Arsenal, right now I'd like Howe young, up coming the future I reckon.
ChrisPY Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Not Adkins or MoN. Be prepared for deja vu. That's a hull of a thing to say without giving any more clues.
saint_stevo Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Alps, tell ya mrs not to worry about Nivea in the morning. Unless Pearson comes back and saves her......
SaintNeil90 Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 read my post further up oh **** it I'll post it again for you I'm not sure I would won't MON (and I'm pretty sure he won't come anyway) not becuase he's not a good manager he is. What I really want at saints is some management stability in the same way as Man U or Arsenal, right now I'd like Howe young, up coming the future I reckon. Personally as much as I would love Martin O'Neill, this is also my fears. Would be not jump at the next 'top job' if it was offered to him.
egg Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 Cortese?[/quote Yes, Cortese will still be at the club! That's about all I can say, apart from the odds would be very good... FWIW he would not have been my choice but will instill some discipline and have the players respect.
doddisalegend Posted 6 September, 2010 Posted 6 September, 2010 by familiar face, do you mean someone who hasn't been manager? maybe an old player? Shearer? Le God?
