Just had a phone call to say MON has rented a house today in Winchester. Could be a red herring, not the rental as i'm confident in that tit bit, but whether it's coincidence or not who knows.

 

So my monies on MON taking us on.

 

Estate agents, or people claiming to know them, are nearly as reliable as taxi drivers.

 

In the spring this year the comments in Bristol were that Curbishley was definitely buying a property there so was taking over at Ashton Gate. Days later Coppell took the job.

Do we need to like our manager though, what people really want is succsess if the manager performs no one will care if he's a prat. Personally I think Ferguson is a complete **** but I still wouldn't mind him at saints.

 

a very good point, but I am one of those fans that does care what other fans from other clubs think of Southampton, so i'd like a manager that represents us the club well, oh and win a few games too...obviously. There is room for both.

Ah yep there it was just beneath the Wenger hasn't been given neough money to spend and is coming to us PM from some bloke called Kronke

 

Teen-saint could be best mates with a Winchester letting agent for all we know! I'd say wait for the announcement which is apparently due tomorrow before letting your cynicism get the better of you. If it turns out to be bo*locks, then let rip to your hearts content.

Not once has he come out and denied an interest in the job, despite I am sure many requests from the media.

 

Apart from (deluded) SFC fans the rest of the football world wouldn't even think MON would consider coming here. Thats why it hasnt been in the papers. Its not on record from any good sources that he is even in the frame. Its just hope!

I hope the renting a place in Winch is right and MoN is appointed. If he comes we'll know that NC has promised to release money for promotion this season, next and when we get into the prem. There's no way MoN would come here unless there is money for him to spend and alot of money....

Adkins needs to resign first if Cortese has agreed to up his compensation to them.

 

My money now is on MoN still but I have a feeling Cortese has kept this an amazing secret to reveal a surprise that will make some happy and others ****ed off.

 

 

I have it on very good authority that SFC training kit with MON's initial's on them have been delivered to his house this morning.

The fact that he's kept so quiet and his name hasn't been out there indicates to me that he is seriously in the running for the post. I never heard from Pardew, nor was he even in the running on the betting sites until late in the day.

 

Cortese is a sensible fella, somehwat crazy at times, but he's sensible and knows how to do a media shut out....which is possibly what's happened here. He knows he needed a high profile appointment to get everyone back on his side.

 

I believe you may be surprised.

Hi Kaiser is the "in principal" bit to do with NC having no say in selection or transfers? If so has NC got cold feet and looked for a young, up and coming who he can control. No big egos a la AP.

I'm starting to feel that some forum members work for betting agencies..

 

I do but I also know nothing of our new manager and nor do any of the bookies. They go on press speculation and the money being placed on each selection.

Hope so. Getting MON would be a huge deal in UK football and a real show of ambition from Nicola Cortese!

Actually the past has shown us that in fact it is exactly this type of non regular ITK and obscure co-incidence that proves to be THE leak.

 

I'd have put the Champers in the fridge if ONLY it hadn't been started with the I had a phone call bit.

Well, MON's odds on Sky Bet went down to 4/1 then 5/2 and now they're not taking bets any more. Whether that means anything or not, who knows?!

 

they stop managers markets after 11 i believe.

It would be quite good but being Southampton I'm sure we can **** this up before this weekend or we will be the only League One club to appoint a proven and respected top-flight manager and then lose there next game 5-0.

 

I have been a Saints fan for some time so cynicism comes easy to me....

I'm not sure I would won't MON (and I'm pretty sure he won't come anyway) not becuase he's not a good manager he is. I'm just not convinced he'd be that committed to saints and would be off as soon as something better came along. What I really want at saints is some management stability in the same way as Man U or Arsenal, right now I'd like Howe young, up coming the future I reckon.

Oh stop it. C'mon, we're allowed to dream just once a year, even if only for a few hours.

 

Hell dreaming about MON is I accept somewhat worryingly close to ghey, but y'now, after a while darling Jennifer Aniston gets a touch boring so I have to go back to dreaming about Angelina. Just makes a nice change. We know it would be a ludicrous deal to pull off put of how it would put a smile on the faces of one end of the M27 one way or another, so let's make the most of it. We're Saints we're used to not being wowed
