To all you saints overseas.....

We all know that Tijuana Tim follows LA galaxy and reading his earlier post about the conparisons between galaxy and saints,I'm interested to know if any of you overseas saints fans follow any other team in your chosen country and how they measure up against saints at the moment,on and off the field? How do you feel they would get on if they played saints?

I would always support Saints over Málaga, they are in La Primera at the moment and just got a rich sheik in as owner, it seems his business dealings are a bit shady as well.I hope they don't go down the same road as the Skates

When I lived in Switzerland I supported (behind Saints) Lausanne Sport - 0-0 vs Derry in a UEFA qualifier was my son's first game. They were awful and went bankrupt a few years ago. I have a soft spot for Utrecht (my nearest team aside from Ajax). They are like Saints used to be; rabid support, quaint (i.e. crap) ground, and the occasional good player (sold on). They've done well this season, however and are in the same CL group as Liverpool (Dirk Kuyt made his name at Utrecht so will be a good game to go to).

I'm moving to Kenya soon, so will have to come up with another team, AFC Leopards have a cool name, but are the Man U of Kenya, so may opt for Tusker FC, named after the best beer in the region....

Velez Sarsfield, although the fact that they have blue in their kit still bothers me a little. And they could never rival my love for Saints.

They are not one of the "big" clubs in Argentina (i.e. Boca, River, Independiente, Racing), but certainly in the top 10, and are a "family/community club". Have done quite well the last few years, usually around the top 5.

Look at these for a bunch of losers: Tenerife and Elgin City. You wonder why I am depressed. I own shares in both!

Rennes and Porto on the side, I know how Wayne feels you need a bit of rough. But Saints is my Coleen.

I used to support FK Riga, but they went bankrupt. My one and only love is Southampton. Yea forgot to say that support Zenit St.Petersburg as well. Apart that, support small clubs against favourites. Sanint are number one, that is why I am probably masohist. hehe. :-)

Not Skonto at all then?

FWIW I used to live in Holland, Germany, USA and Scotland. So naturally I support Dyanmo Kyiv. Never been to a game, but it's on my list of things to do.

Saints first and foremost. Occasionally watch Perth Glory in the Australian A league.

Mainly because they have Robbie Flowler playing up front for them !

Got a season ticket at Incheon United and we would destroy them. I reckon saints would win 3/4-0. They have no clue going forward and the keeper is ****. Still the best team in Korea though.(Top 2 in the world behind saints)

I go to see Alemannia Aachen (Bundesliga 2) at least once a season, they're my German team and also try to get to a couple of Bundesliga games too.

I also losely follow Charleroi and Porto, have seen both sides play at home.

And we (Velez) just went top of the Argentine league after beating some team wearing a kit the same as Saints :-)

Adelaide United for me (currently top of the A-League). It did take a bit of getting used to chanting "United.......United....." without the word s**t in between, but they play in red so the "Red Army" chant fits nicely!

I live in Los Angeles, America so L.A. Galaxy are obviously my team because I live in Los Angeles. Which is in America.

Well 'Arcadia' is LA's fastest growing city....but in future stick to being a clown, that's how we all affectionately think of you my little friend, y'know one of them lovable red-nosed types FAF

I live in a more coastal part than Arcadia, however not that far. Maybe I should come over and let you buy me a shake sometime.

Standard Liège (was born close to the stadium) and Mons (Belgian div. 2) where I've been living since 1982. Also a very soft spot for Lausanne Sport - got many friends there - who went bankrupt a few years ago but are on the up again, even reaching the group stages in this year's Europa League (runner-up in Swiss cup last season). They are a pleasure to watch this season.

So in this thread we have the Roar, Perth, Adelaide and Gold Coast supporters. I used to support good old Marconi back in the NSL daysm despite not been Italian. Was actually one of the more amusing moments of my life when I was asked to ref at Marconi Stadium a couple of years back and inside the referees room was the basic match balls, a spare pair of flags and... a tub of hair gel!? Now I support the Jets since moving to Newcastle. Please no one mention the word finances or I might cry :(

Yeah, like we're going to go to a stadium and sit amongst a bunch of Arab kids wishing to be yoof watching football that would make the Wessex League look quality.

So Saints Reserves for me.

Although I did go and watch Al Nasr once.

Because they were playing Aston Villa

And Vassell got crocked. It was still exactly as I thought it would be - Kraap

Saints first and foremost, (sometimes i don't know why) In Malta Hiberneans, in France Nice, In Italy Fiorentina, In Spain Athletico Madrid, In the US LA Galaxy. I also look out for teams wherever i have travelled too.

Bordeaux now for me, two hours away but only €16 to get in. Just as frustrating as Saints, 9 points clear at xmas but didn't even qualify for Europe after picking up 1 point in April from 6 games.

Bray Wonders (in Ireland) who once played Saints in pre season and won :-)

Also follow Woking, as I saw them a few times when I lived there.

GO THE GLORY !!!!

Perth Glory supporter here. I would like to think Southampton FC would comfortably beat the Glory but then again I would have given Glory a chance against Rochdale :)

Robbie in our local kit
