InvictaSaint Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 ....Brentford, the bottom team in League 1, has just beaten Sheffield Wednesday, the top team, by one goal to nil. All of which means we are only 6 points off top spot, with a game in hand. Get the new, "wow" manager in this week and it is still perfectly possible for us to be riding high in the very near future. This weekend's results have been kind to us - Huddersfield only drew with Bournemouth, Carlisle drew, Peterboorough lost - but we cannot afford to wait much longer to get the new chap in. Still, reasons to be cheerful (even after having witnessed Saturday's fun and games....).
Shropshire Saint Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 I agree - we are far from out of the promotion race. However we are without Adam until the end of October and Ricky's form ( or lack of it) gives me cause for concern.
Pilchards Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 This is a funny league we are in and it's so hard to predict some results. If we had a decent setup and some better options on the bench then it's a crime not to believe that we should go up as champions with the money we have spent. That's why the next appointment is make or break IMHO. Get a budget one in and the players might respond. Get a proven class manager and the players can only respond because it's a known fact that good managers get results.

RonManager Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 I have absolutely no doubt that we will be promoted this season. This is just a bonkers bit of chaotic madness that we are swimming through. Keep the faith COYS
benjii Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 It's not even "positive" thinking, it's just evidence of the sensible application of a modest amount of intelligence.
S-Clarke Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 I still believe that whatever happens we'll still get into the top 6, the decision next week will go a long way to deciding if we're still in with a chance of being champions.
InvictaSaint Posted 5 September, 2010 Author Posted 5 September, 2010 It's not even "positive" thinking, it's just evidence of the sensible application of a modest amount of intelligence. Why, thank you kind sir... :-)
ivangolac Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 If we had made the start we 'should' of done we'd be top two now . Our opening fixtures were a lot easier than those coming up. On paper at least ....
corsacar saint Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Huddersfield drew at home to Bournemouth,Wednesday lost at Brentford,Peterboro lost at[i believe Tranmere].That would appear to suggest with previous results for those teams, this could be a tight league. I would agree with a top appointment, there is still no reason to think,we will still not be right up there.
S-Clarke Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Our start hasn't been disastrous (yet) by any means. Ok, it couldn't have been more traumatic but there is still alot of time to get going. This time last year after 5 games Norwich had 4 pts i believe, and Leeds were away on top with 15 points from 15. Football is a funny old game and the teams that often start on fire, often finish with a wiper.
Smirking_Saint Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Were not far from top spot TBF. Still in with a shout if we appoint someone to get the best out of us soon. I am glad we are waiting for the right appointment as there is no point rushing into things. The league is all over the place atm, no one is setting the world alight.
