Thedelldays Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Talking like a prat on talksport Saying he thinks Micky adams is perfect for the job... Cortese is picking the team.. Yaaaawn
MarkSFC Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Football people sticking together and assuming that Cortese is inteferring with day to day football stuff. Only natural cos most of them are thick and can't think for themselves. They should stick to what they are good at - football - and not untefere with the politics and the business!!
Badger Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Adams might have been a contender 10 years ago, although I read Lowe did not even interview him.He was not selected ten years ago,and has done bugger all of any note in the past decade to make him a more suitable candidate now. Ivan Golac has as much chance as Adams.None. Surprised Dennis can trot out such garbage.
manji Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 One of my heros too....unfortunately another man with an agenda.
kpturner Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 He is a great bloke....but he is prone to talking ******. I should know - it takes one to know one.
benjii Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 It was clear Cortese picked the team yesterday. After all, Martin didn't get a look-in and Gully started.
WokingSaint Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 MD also said a lot of things that many of us agree with e.g. Cortese doesn't want to know about our history - has no time or respect for ex players and managers etc. - His dictotorial attitude is likely to put good managers off taking the job. Southampton FC didn't come into existence when NC took over as CEO, it has a long and mostly proud history and he should acknowledge that instead of allienating people we remember with great affection for their part in that history. Even if he appoints a first class manager, he must address the above or he will lose many of us. And btw, Mark Dennis was a great player!
Thedelldays Posted 5 September, 2010 Author Posted 5 September, 2010 So NC is picking the team because guly, a player from serie A was playing in English division 3?????
up and away Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Mark Dennis always brings a smile to my face, even though I would not class him above a pikey. My most enduring moment was of him getting caught in one of the suites, stuffing sandwiches into his pocket. Mark is well worth the price of a pint, but anyone who seriously considers what he is saying needs adjusting.

aintforever Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 I think you will find Mark Dennis is entitled to an opinion.
NickG Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 but he is mad! remember some nutter rang up the his radio show with a random rumour which he then spent two hours talking about as if it were true
Thedelldays Posted 5 September, 2010 Author Posted 5 September, 2010 I think you will find Mark Dennis is entitled to an opinion. did not realise this....thanks
alpine_saint Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Does everyone who thinks NC isn't God like have an agenda? No, just a pikey...
alpine_saint Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 I think you will find Mark Dennis is entitled to an opinion. Not when it calls for Mickey Adams to become the next Saints manager, he isnt.

What a load of tosh Doesn't want o know about our history - hello, why do we have a 125 anniversary shirt, no sponsor, historic notes in the programme No time or respect for ex-players/managers - says who? Probably has no respect for ones that talk out of their arse like Dennis, about things they know nothing about, sorry even Le Tiss talks horse **** sometimes. Who are the ex-managers? Lawrie, well much as I like him he does upset some people and can be a miserable old git like me. Who else? Saggy Chops? Burley? Deserve no respect. Agents Orange? Likewise. WGS? Who knows, has there been an issue with WGS, about the only recnt manager that still has my respect. Dictatorial attitude will put managers off taking the job: What a load of absolute ******. Managers, good and bad will not be put off applying, or taking the job, all managers are thick skinned and know that their job is short term only, and that they are God's gift to football. Some might not be offered the job, but no-one will be put off applying. I've been associated with Saints for nearly 45 years, I don't see any less respect for our history right now than in the previous 10 years, NC won't lose me, because I remain loyal to the Club, not influenced by some passing phase.

gonzo Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 The people just slagging Cortese off must have very short memories. He's not perfect and isn't great at PR but without his input we might have lost our club last year. I would wait and see who the new manager is before making too many judgements. And I don't think he would have sacked Pardew unless there was a very good reason for it.

What we do know is no club even half our size has been wound up, so as grateful as i am for MLs input, I don't think had he not been involved we would have gone bust, so this saviour/hero worship thing for NC is misplaced.

docker-p Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 you are correct....I wish that bloke who lived with his mum took us over...he looked like a nice chap Would he have sacked AP three games into the new season, or taken on fleet street in a game any 'O' level media studies student could tell you you couldn't win? In Micky we should have trust

IN MY DAY Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 I have heard Mark Dennis a few times on Talksport and i while he's is entitled to his opinion i dont think he is the best person to represent what is happening within our club.
chrisobee Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Good grief, one of the best players ever to play for us dares to venture an opinion, whatever next ?

All this nonsense about the saviour is wearing a bit thin. Agreed how many years do we have to doff our hats and say thank you sir as i see it NC is walking the thin line with a lot of his policies and his understanding of how far he can push the loyalties of the fans who attend games,
alpine_saint Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 How many clubs have gone out of existance? If Markus had not have bought us someone else would have. All this nonsense about the saviour is wearing a bit thin. Just how arrogant is this post ??? And how begrudging because you've got an anti-NC agenda ? I reckon from Day 1 last summer you've been looking for something to hate him about just because he aint got beetroot cheeks, doesnt live in the Cotswolds and doesnt answer to the name Rupert. I suggest you contact Mark Fry and find out if this was the case, because most people think we came seriously f**king close to being wound up. Ungrateful sh*t.

sadoldgit Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 (edited) You really need to grow up Alpine. Anyway, please tell me of all of the clubs that have had financial meltdowns in the last few years, how many went out of business? And for the record, be the CEO Lowe, Cortese or anyone else for that matter, this is the lowest ebb that the club have been in since I have have known. If Pardew had still been manager after yesterdays poor result you would have been going off on one. How come everything is fine now suddenly??? If Lowe had acted over the last few months the way that Cortese has you would be incandecent with rage. As for hate, I don't hate anyone - and certainly not a CEO of a football club. 70's Mike Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 ummmm...if we continue to win things..i year one trophy.. 123 years without cortese....i trophey yes...I will shake his hand and say thank you if ever i see him as will i , just pointing out he is walking a very thin line and policies are not popular on the ground in the city, the attendance for the Swindon game was a awful, rightly or wrongly crowds and therefore income will drop if the performance of the first team does not improve, good academys, Dof's , 1885 Clubs are all irrelevant but hitting the same 15000 people in the pocket every week is not the way forward. The charging in the car park for away fans is, imo, an awful decision , you come back with say 4 coach loads from Hartlepool at 11.30pm then queue for half an hour with 100 other car drivers to get a ticket to get out of the car park and give the club over £8 for the priviledge Like i said grateful for saving us not for the current policies and arrogance which stinks of a previous CEO
sadoldgit Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 would you rather have micky failka or markus leibherr last summer... that is the difference Or someone esle. As it happens, sadly Leibherr has passed on and left us with goodness knows what
70's Mike Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 would you rather have micky failka or markus leibherr last summer... that is the difference Last Summer being the key words We are 12 months down the road and rightly or wrongly the atmosphere in the ground yesterday was starting to get ugly towards NC
alpine_saint Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 You really need to grow up Alpine. If Lowe had acted over the last few months the way that Cortese has you would be incandecent with rage. As for hate, I don't hate anyone - and certainly not a CEO of a football club. Hillarious. Really hillarious. You really are turning into a caricature of yourself. We have a reasonably decent squad just waiting for the new manager to be announced. We also have financial security and no fear of being bankrupt for the first time in a decade, and you have the sheer temerity to describe this as "the lowest ebb" that you have known. You are just a joke figure now. And the reason I didnt go off on one yesterday is because the team is clearly rudderless at the moment. I am assuming you would argue yesterdays result would not have happened if Pardew were still here, or are you not so sure of your new post-Burley champion any more ? Once the new manager, someone who will have an understanding of tactics not picked up from a 1969 Ladybird book, comes in, this team will pick themselves up and start doing the business again, I am 100% certain of it. Yep you are right though. If Lowe had made some decisions like this, I would have been furious. But then we all knew he only gave a sh*t about his asset and share value and didnt care if the club succeeded on the field or not, where as NC clearly does not have the same fixations. So at the moment I trust that the tortuous road he is taken will come to the right destination.
sadoldgit Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 So where does all of this positivity come from after years of negativity? And given that you have seen whgat 2 games under Pardew, I love the fact that you know in depth where he failings were. We shall pass over the fact that he won a cup and would have made the play offs but for the -10 points. Still as the only manager you have had any time for in recent years only won 3 games in 13 I suppose I shouldn't expect any less from you. The team that you have so much confidence in now are the same guys you were slagging off after the Swindon game. I might be a joke figure now Alps, but you have been one for years. Also please tell me how you know so much about Cortese and his fixations? You know no more about the bloke and what drives him than I do. What you will know if you bother to open your eyes is that he is hacking off more and more people with his decisions.
