I have been a proud season ticket holder for 27 years but today, not taking anything away from a team that deserved their win, hurt. I mean, Rochdale FFS loosing at home, what a terrible realisation of how low we have sank. A great stadium, brilliant fans, what have we done to deserve such humiliating results ? Come on lads there are worse supported teams in the P League. Please give us what we all crave (although I realise we have no Devine right!)

I am not sure that "loosing" is real a word, but if it was it would refer to making something less tight than it was before. "Losing" on the other hand, refers to occasions when you don't win. Sorry - but I suffer from anal retention when we loose....I mean lose.

I also suffer from a similar affliction and therefore feel honour bound to point out than losing does NOT refer to occasions when one doesn't win.

If this were the case you would include a 'draw' as a 'loss'.

Ergo losing specifically refers to instances when one is beaten.

I thank you.

You are absolutely correct....and correcting people is perfectly fine and I thank you for it :-)

Just beat me to it. Don't understand why so many people get "loose" and "lose" transposed, also the other one that gets me biting my nails is "brought " and "bought", so many people get this one wrong that it's getting to be of epidemic proportions.

...almost as annoying as when people bugger up the "quote" facility :-)
