RobM Posted 4 September, 2010 Posted 4 September, 2010 (edited) How does one go about setting up one of these independent supporters thingies? I am interested in starting one. I think I would be good at representing the fans on South Today. You need a website. Doesn't have to be good, just a website. You can create it in Microsoft Word if you want. You need a name that contains the word 'Saints'. If you really want to go all-out, you need a PayPal account to take peoples money with empty promises. Even better is if your website contains a counter of how much money you have "accepted" for membership. That's about it really. Once you have those three things it doesn't even matter if you are the only member, you can now call yourself a fans representative. Edited 6 September, 2010 by RobM
The Kraken Posted 4 September, 2010 Posted 4 September, 2010 You need a website. Doesn't have to be good, just a website. You can create it in Microsoft Word if you want. You need a name that contains the word 'Saints'. If you really want to go all-out, you need a PayPal account to take peoples money with empty promises. Even better is if your website contains a counter of how much money you have stolen, I mean, accepted for membership. That's about it really. Once you have those three things it doesn't even matter if you are the only member, you can now call yourself a fans representative. Don't forget the part that, once you've got people on board as members, they're not allowed to discontinue their membership. In a bid to boost your own ego and give the massive illusion that your defunct organisation is much more popular than it actually is, its a "once a member, always a member" approach. Why be honest about membership levels when you have your own self-promotion to think about?
Dr Who? Posted 4 September, 2010 Posted 4 September, 2010 Ok we sacked our manager and at the moment the team look a little demotivated, but get a new yes man, I mean manager in and we will get it back together again. This is all just a storm in a tea cup at the moment!
Dr Who? Posted 4 September, 2010 Posted 4 September, 2010 Also these groups only come up when something happens and a small group of people want to be drama queens. All blows over and then all quiet again. Supporters trying to make a name for themselves. get over yourself. Surely we could have one from this site and just keep it going all year round every year through the bad and the GOOD times??
JackFrost Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 It's very easy to have a pop at SISA, I know I've been to some of there meetings and had to endure their rants. But they have in the past got out from behind their laptops and tried to do something, organise meetings, knock on doors etc; as opposed to 99% of posters on here who are content to sit back with beer in hand, and slag each other off from the comfort of their front room, (i include myself in that category) Sorry, what have they actually done? apart from broadcasting their extreme views/rants to the Echo and SSN, which the vast majority of fans wouldn't agree with, and then claiming they speak for all of the fans in the process. As for their meetings and rallies they've previously organised, they appear to have been about as effective as the meetings and rallies that the rest of us don't organise. They are a group that are more concerned with lapping up negative publicity and jumping on bandwagons than the progress of the club.
SaintRichmond Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 According to the Echo SISA and its committee have resurrected itself with MIck Callaghan as chairman. Mr Chorley and Mcmillan have been out of the lime light for too long and are no doubt envious of Take That reforming Theyapparrently reforming to protest against the sacking of AP and also NC's running of the club according to other reports. Will there be calls for fans to boycott the stadium and asking season ticket holders to throw their ticket in the waste bucket. Oh the good old days There you are Alps go and join them Im sure they will welcome you on to their committee they need people like you with ultra extreme negatives views of the club. They would do well to wait until more of Pardew's leaving becomes Public Whatever you think of Cortese, I do NOT beleiev he would have taken the action he did unlesss he absolutely HAD to Like many on here, I have heard loads of rumours. I KNOW NOTHING AS FACT, but some of those "rumours" I have heard from more than one source, and because of the content, I am really convinced that Cortese has acted in the best overal intersts of Southampton Football Club It is the fact that we Supporters are being treated like Mushrooms that is causing a major problem (in our eyes)

I am now President of The Independent Supporters Association of Southampton. Follow me, not SISA. SISA are a bunch of splitters.
benjii Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Don't worry. The fact finding mission to Barcelona will keep the idiots occupied for a couple of weeks.
aintforever Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 I'm setting up the Association of Southampton Supporters, anyone else want to come in my A.S.S?
LostBoys Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Who are they? They certainly do not represent me and I suspect few others. I cannot wait for the Echo to run a few of their forthcoming stories and actions - oh I cannot read them as I do not buy the Echo any more.
RobM Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Funny how nobody from SISA has appeared on this thread to defend themselves. Also funny that they don't often post here, as SISA, since they are 'representing' every one of us.

After Chorley made himself look a complete tool with his OPEN LETTERS a few years ago I very much doubt any of them will come on here again
NorthamSteve Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Good to see you have a sense of humour Swannymore I think you need to re do your maths we would still be in this division and even with them it would not be until season 2012/13 when they would have got us back to the premiership no doubt all the fans subscriptions to that great fan organisation would have gone to paying of the clubs debt. Good on the three muskateers or is that four if you include brother clive? I think he was being ironic or are you also being ironic at the irony? - This doesn't work if you did. Also, SISA can suck my balls.
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 When I first saw this thread I predicted Buccotim and Manji would be on the first page.
trousers Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 When I first saw this thread I predicted Buccotim and Manji would be on the first page. And I had you down for an entry on Page 4 FF. You've come too soon! :-)
lordswoodsaints Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 I think the saints trust and sisa should have a fight, whoever wins gets my vote.....hopefully they will knock each other out and I get to remain an independent supporter with my own agenda.

You've come too soon! :-) Premature exhilaration. To the original topic, I thought the goal was to get Cortese to listen to supporters more - not give him an excuse to tune them out completely.
dune Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 How does one go about setting up one of these independent supporters thingies? I am interested in starting one. I think I would be good at representing the fans on South Today. 1. Organise a quiz night to attract like minded intelectuals.
Junction 9 Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 OK. I am now President of The Independent Supporters Association of Southampton. Follow me, not SISA. SISA are a bunch of splitters. I'm never sure if you're being serious or not Deppo, but if you are I would be interested in joining this. Would need a few more details, what are your main aims? Do you have a manifesto as such?

Master Bates Posted 5 September, 2010 Posted 5 September, 2010 Didn't even realise SISA disappeared, thought they were always about.
