Is this something for my Nokia 6230i?

Not sure if this is a joke or not? But you won’t be able to have this on any phone other than an iPhone.

This looks like a fantastic app though!

Would this work with an i-Touch? It's got wi-fi so it could update that way I s'pose? Would there be any point?

That's what I'm using it on. You have to be online to use it though, no offline caching of info!

Mmm, bit pointless possibly. Mind you, if on hols abroad and at wi-fi point it might come in handy at some point. And it's free so no loss.

There's a 'premium' upgrade available for £4.99 per season. Gives you video clips of games. Now, if they could integrate the iPlayer for live matchday commentary on my iPhone that would be the icing on the cake. No doubt contractural 'difficulties' prevent that happening though....

Just downloaded the free version, anyone paid the £4.99 for full version? Is it worth it? What will I gain?

Sure I'll end up buying it later anyway out of curiosity...

Once again Android left in the cold. One day...

We might be cold but at least we've got class.

Now, if anyone can point me to a good betamax website, I'm having difficulties with mine, cheers!

Absolutely! BUT only if the they sorted out the quality of the Saintsplayer. Downloading it now but I have a feeling its essentially a portal to a website like the "newsletter" effort they send round. If you want to share content put the bloody content in the email your sending to us don't make me open a browser and download a page full of images and ads.

Free version seems ok. All though I notice that the jpt result I'd not mentioned in our recent results. Probably because it's not football league as such as the football league cup (carling cup) v Bolton is listed

Hmm not really a 'Saints' app is it, just a window onto the website, and as you have to have internet connection to use it you are also in the position of being able to view the website using safari. Still it looks quite nice.

Having touches like live tweets would make it better.

I was really hoping that at long last this would be the way to get live commentary on an i device, would happily pay £4.99 or even more to get it as saintsplayer only works , when it feels like it, on the laptop/desktop which support flash.

When I first saw it I thought it was going to be a football manager app :)

THANK GOD they've got their priorities right! Kelvin's thoughtful insights on 'concentrating on the league' yesterday just weren't taking my mind off the wait-to-see which inadequate nonentity they were going to see fit to foist on us as manager.

Now there's an 'app' for a telephone I'll never own, I don't care about the rest of the season. Brilliant.

What about for android?

Andoid version in the new year (according to FL tweets).

Try reading the thread next time.

PS> The FL added the word 'hopefully' to their tweet. Make of this what you will.

Boo, does not work on the iPad.

Works fine on mine!

Mine too. Paid for the premium - video clips are fairly decent. Just another reason not to bother with SaintsPlayer.

FOOTBALL LEAGUE LAUNCHES FREE IPHONE APP

Hi all, hope you’re all well and enjoying the new season!

Thought you may be interested in our brand new official Football League Clubs’ iPhone app, which is free to download, and offers a bespoke design dedicated entirely for Southampton F.C. You can access all of the latest news, fixtures, stats and player profiles from the Saints squad and you can also update your Facebook and Twitter profiles automatically through the app - making it easier to share thoughts, views and comments with your friends.

In addition to the free content, you can also have the option to purchase a ground-breaking premium service for just £4.99 for the entire season. This allows you to watch video match highlights 24 hours after the game and incorporates Google Mapping functionality, so you can find your way to any match stadium in the country.

It also contains a “Score Predictor” - a tool that gives fans a chance to predict scores during the match. You can then compare their predictions with fellow fans and opposition fans too. The score predictor will be continuously updated throughout the 90 minutes with all your fellow fans predictions, all in real time.

You can download for free from the app store at http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/football-league-official-clubs/id385520353?mt=8, and here’s some example imagery from your club: Southampton F.C.

Enjoy the season!
