One of the guys (i think it's the bald fella from the football league show) confirmed that it's almost impossible to get media access to Southampton this year, they have to jump through lots of hoops to get any interviews.

Don't see the sense in that myself, why are we shutting ourselves away?

Sky were fuming because they needed some information (I think it was related to where cameras could go or if they could park in a certain place) but Cortese was on holiday and had asked not to be disturbed. No one wanted to commit themselves and so Sky had to track Cortese down themselves which I think they managed to do a few days later. They were seriously cheesed off and I expect will be thinking hard before showing games from SMS in the future. Ho hum.

Nothing we don't know - basically nothing to do with performance, simply a 'personality clash'. As Claridge said, nothing wrong with the football side that a couple of decent signings won't fix.

Interesting they all thought NC would have to go 'big'. I am not so sure.

No, I think it's broader than that - as they said he's running a club like an investment bank, they tend to manage PR to the nth degree, and keep things very closed. Nothing wrong with that to some extent, but this is a football club, and the fans and wider media need a reasonable flow of information. Hopefully he'll learn.

Come on guys all this media speculation etc is just bollixs. As for claridge he is a prize ****. if he was any good he would have made a decent manager.

Im saddened by events to day but Im pleased all those involved are acting with dignity and professionally. Good luck Alan P

and in Nicole I trust.

I would hate to see our fans start to protest against him otherwise he may just decide to pull the plug on us

Keep the faith

and lol @ "pull the plug on us", nice one :)

I actually think Claridge speaks sense, skate or not, he's praised us when he's had the opportunity to.

I don't have a problem with him, good pundit imo.

He's got you hook line and sinker. Southampton FC is a lot bigger than one NC.

I'm with you there pal, TBH, i cant remember the last time he said anything bad about us. On the football league show i think he comes across pretty well.

Too many so called 'experts' talk total ********.

Much as I dislike Claridge for being a pikey fish-****ging Skate, he is actually a very good pundit: especially as regards the lower leagues. Considered, well balanced and knowledgeable.

Bet he has more insight into the goings on at SMS than most of us too....

Exactly - he even had the balls to tell the skates how f ucked up their own club was, laying it clearly on the line that their football infrastructure was a complete bag of shyte. One of the few BBC pundits who doesn't tow any party lines - I like him.

How come you never stop harping on about him then?

Because like most on here, i want the very best for Southampton FC. And to get that the people who run SFC and the decisions they make have to be held up to the closest scrutiny. And blindly saying "in NC we trust" is not good for enough.

Some things NC has done have been good, not least turning up with ML in the first place, but an alarming amount of poor decisions have been made along the way, and as one who has the good ship Southampton close to his heart, i selflessly take it upon myself to expose and denounce his balls ups, in the greater interest of the club.

How on earth is Cortesse acting professionally? We get no information from him or the club, no reasons given for decisions made, just bog standard template statements released on the club's own website!

I keep reading this pro Cortesse cr4p "hope people don't upset him as he might walk out and leave us in the sh1t" how exactly would we be in the poo? If he were to walk we'd be sold, we wouldn't suddenly get all the debt back, we'd be a debt free business showing a healthy operating turnover, and besides Cortesse is just an employee of the Mali Group so if walks he walks the Mali Group would simply appoint a new ceo!

What has Claridge's managerial record got to do with anything? As a pundit I think he's first class.

Once again we are a laughing stock. If it's that ***** Zola then I'm off. What makes him better than Pardew to take the club forward. He's shown that he's not good enough by the mess he made of WHU.

tbf that mess wasn't really made by him.

He was fire-fighting most of the time.

Which managers will you hang around for...????

Claridge went up in my book during that BBC Solent forum at pompey when he said something like "who would put money into pompey. you train in Southampton" And "pompey are miles behind Southampton" or words to that effect. The silence was golden! Good pundit and good on the FLS

Agreed. The ill-informed comments above are unjustified.

George Michael f*cked up Wham when he split his partnership with guitar genius Andrew Ridgeley, and then went on a w*nking tour of public conveniences in the USA.

To blame Zola for this is Madness.

Mike Barson leaving the band, spelt the end for Madness. The hits dried up after that causing the band to split up in 86.

To blame Zola is a pure Rock Folly.

I take it this was when we had the first game of the season not now. As NC is not on holiday and if the media want to contact the club they gave details at the bottom of the press release.
